Coming up this week on DR. BLOGSTEIN'S RADIO HAPPY HOUR: (Live on Tuesday November 20th at 9PM ET and forever archived at BlogTalkRadio.)
Barry, named to the exclusive list of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History, is as outspoken and controversial as he is a talented basketball player. We'll talk hoops and underhanded free throws with this sports legend.
Also, Alex Boylan, winner of CBS's The Amazing Race II, will call in from somewhere in South America to discuss his latest adventure. Evidently, winning a race around the world was not challenging enough for him, now Alex is attempting to make it around the world for free!
Alex left New York from CBS’s “The Early Show” on September 18 in an attempt to travel the world with no credit cards or cash, bringing along lone cameraman Zsolt Luka to document the unprecedented journey for the unique travel/reality web series “Around The World For Free.” Alex is relying on the web community at www.aroundtheworldforfree.com to set his itinerary and guide him around the world for free.
All that plus, Jane returns as co-host, SUPREME COMMANDER OF THE CYBERWAVES Vinny Bond drags his Big Leather Couch into the Radio Happy Hour Lounge and chats live with the listeners, your calls at 646-652-4804, and one lucky caller will play a rousing game of "NAME OR DRUG" for a chance to win fabulous prizes.
Join us live every Tuesday night at 9PM ET. The Radio Happy Hour Lounge--a live chat room during show time--is a whole new reason to make sure you listen live! It’s the show within the show!
Sorry about that folks...see what happens when we leave the computer for an hour?
Another song we caught on our ride home the other night that brought back memories was by Kenny Loggins & Jim Messina.
In 1971 Jim Messina, formerly of POCO and BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD was working as a producer for Columbia Records. He met a studio musician who had written some songs. His name was Kenny Loggins.
It was decided Messina would produce Loggins' first album, but by the time they were finished Messina had appeared on so many songs, as a composer, singer and instumentalist that the album was entitled Kenny Loggins With Jim Messina - Sittin' In...it became known simply as Sittin' In...
Between 1971 and 1977 the duo released 9 albums; two were live recordings and the last a compilation album. The both went on to successful solo recording careers.
They were the leaders in the soft rock genre which was smacked with the name 'yacht rock' by some.
"Danny's Song", was written by Kenny Loggins and reached #82 on the Pop Singles chart in 1972. In 1973 Anne Murray released her version of the song which reached # 7 on the Pop Singles chart, #1 on the Adult Contemporary chart and #10 on the Country chart.
"House At Pooh Corner", also on the same album, can certainly be called a 'novelty song', but the song composed by Kenny Loggins has one of those hooks that stays in your head...

You're starting to worry me.
Oh good Lord. You know what really frightens me? Not that your mind works this way or that Mateo's does as well. It's that I fully "get" the two of you. And I like you both!
Oy vey.
Well, I'm not really worried about you. I'm worried about Green Voice.
See, GV is reasonable and seems very trusting. But Dark Red Voice there has a bit of a temper and shows some sociopathic tendencies.
Keep an eye on DRV. I don't know about that one.
Both Vincent and Matthew posting about body parts....sheesh...
(I love House at Pooh Corner)
MIMI: Now you too?!?!?!?! damn...
SONGBIRD: What does that say about you???? bwahahahahahahahaha
TRAVIS: SEE! Travis gets it!
KATHERINE: two brains....one mind...what can I say...
(So do I)
Ahh your OK Vin I know it! 'yacht rock' I never heard that expression brfore lol that some good Ol' slow dancing music getting that chance to squeeze up on your girl at closing time ;D
WORRY? US? ABOUT YOU?
NEVER.
Vinny is perfectly sane, just ask the voices right?
*looks over her shoulder*
Umm, who called the guys with the white coats...and WHY ARE THEY HEADED FOR ME????
If some person from Texas doesnt think you are right in the head, I think that you should feel confidant in your sanity. Cheers!!
I am starting to worry that you do not worry me. Should I be worried? About you? Or about me?
Our voices would have a blast together :P
"Multiple Personality Disorder": At least two identities or personality states, recurrently take control of the person's behavior.
See nothing to worry about.
Oh and Matt-Man...ummm I lived in Texas for many, many years and you know what...I believe you are correct in your assumption...LOL!
Vinny - Love "all" of you...ummm...I mean all of your personalities...yeah, that's what I mean.
Hugs to you SW!!!!!
::sits on the couch, hoping she has not hurt "The Couch's" feelings.:: ::gets up and straightens the pillows, dusts the coffee table, begins to hear voices......ummmmmmm......::SCREAM::
ROGER: yup 'yacht rock'...but it is good slow dancin' music
ANGELL: what voices? huh?
MATT-MAN: yeah, that is what i figured dude
STARRLIGHT: LOL who said i do not worry about you? we can introduce the voices soon...
SUEANN: what? you giving me medical book definitions now???
she loves all my personalities ...woooo
Me hurt...nah..though Green Voice feels a bit left out....
DARK RED VOICE: (deathbed rattle) Luke, I am your father ....
GREEN VOICE: (holding right hand up, Spock Sign thingy) NaaNuu, NaaNuu (Mork imitation)
awwww ... worried about you??
NEVAH!!!!!!
smooches, Joy
Oh heck now I am REALLY worried! Cause you are worried about me! What does it mean if someone who worries others is worried about you, when you are not worried about them or yourself?
Now I am dizzy :P
Sorry dear, but the Anne Murray version of that song makes me puke, as does everything she does/did. I love me some Loggins, and Messina. No one mentions them anymore. What I wouldn't give for a cut of House At Pooh Corner. Sorry, go of on a tangent...
**Refuses to be an enabler and ackowledge imaginary voices**
Never been a Loggins fan I'm afraid...
What Songbird said ;-)
Smooch
JOY: TY
STARR: It could mean that there is worry, but maybe there isn't, but maybe there should be but maybe not
even dizzier?
SCHMOOP: LOL..well yeah, but that is why I did not use it...check Matt's email
ANNDI: imaginary? I think they will be upset to hear that...
Never a Loggins fan..so that is two songs in over a year that did not go over for you!
TURNBABY: and what do YOU say> LOL
Well, I wasn't worried before...
Well you sound perfectly ummm perfect to me! Happiness kinda does silly things doesn't it?
