I've been hit with TWO MEMEs...
First off:
Sweet Empress Bee tagged me with a meme created by Meloncutter.

Sweet Empress Bee tagged me with a meme created by Meloncutter.
Five songs with great lead guitar solo's.
Do you realize how difficult this was for me,
to pick just FIVE?????

Morgen also tagged me, but BEE touched me first...
IN MEMORY OF ELIZABETH REED - Allman Brothers -
Duane and Dickey rip it up.
And now, in concert, Warren and Derek do the same)
PEACHES EN REGALIA - Frank Zappa at his finest.
CAN'T YOU SEE - Marshall Tucker Band
Toy Caldwell was one of the more underrated guitarists, may he rest in peace.
WATER SONG - Hot Tuna
Jorma Kaukonen - You have heard me rave about him before....'nuff said.
SUNSHINE OF YOUR LOVE - Cream
The opening riff of this song is infamous. The guitar solo, pure Eric Clapton.
Hey, and I did it without mentioning Jerry Garcia... how the hell did that happen???
We get to tag people, so...here we go...

2. List out your top 5 favorite places to eat at your location.
3. Tag 5 other people (preferably from other countries/states) and let them know they’ve been tagged.
Well, since I am new to Memphis this might be tough...
1) DOC WATSONS: Neighborhood bar, I go there on Friday evenings every few weeks. They make a great burger, fish and chips and other "bar-type" food, but especially their homemade chips. The potatoes are sliced real thin and fried up nice and crisp...that and a few beers..yum. And good local talent every Friday and Saturday playing great music.
2) GERMANTOWN COMMISSARY: A tiny little out of the way bar-b-que joint. Excellent ribs and chicken and sausage and pulled pork and baked beans and chocolate pie...yum-o
3) JOHNNY BRUSCO'S: As close to NY pizza as you will find in Memphis. It is a franchise with locations in TN, GA, KS, MS, and TX, but they do use real pizza ovens. Good chicken parm subs also.
4) THE BUTCHER SHOP: Only been here once, but the steaks were excellent and they actually had espresso... so they get extra points for that!
5) B.B. KINGS: OK, well the food might not be the absolute best, but anything tastes better when you have great live music being played while you eat. B.B.'s is at the head of Beale Street and has some of the best music on the block.

Guess it wasn't that tough...
We now have to tag five:
Anndi - Montreal, Canada (totally different from Toronto)
Angell - Toronto, Canada (totally different from Montreal)
TopChamp - Scotland
Lizza - Phillipines
Travis - N.W. (hey to me that is like a foreign country!)

Excellent choices! Love the tunes as usual.
Um.. thanks for the tag.. I think... LOL
I was looking at your players and wondered about Jerry Garcia, there is only one that I did not know, Hot Tuna.
Spot on with the solos, as expected.
A food meme - this could be tough because of two things. First, there are so many great places to dine in the Puget Sound area. Second, we haven't been to nearly enough of them!
But I will consult she who knows all...that's Pam...and come up with five excellent choices.
Thanks!
ANNDI: Glad you enjoyed them. You will do well with the tag.
SARGE: LOL...I know, five is just so darn tough...Hot Tuna is Jorman Kaukonen and Jack Cassidy. Both were in the original Jefferson Airplane and broke away for this side project that became a full time gig. They play alone acoustically or with a band sometimes.
TRAVIS: Five was just so tough...Between you and "she who knows all" Ms. Pam, you will do well...HEY I have to know where to eat when i finally make my way up to that corner of the world.
I'd have a hard time picking five restaurants here, too. We don't eat anywhere! But if I had to do my hometown, that would be easy!!!
You have made me very hungry, my friend :-)
BBQ, guitar solos, very nice meme post, Bond!
Will think about possible local contributions to the blogging bank of restaurant info.
Thanks for playing!! LOVE Clapton. LOVE.
Good choices - now where to find those damn audio codes cuz Anndi-girl tagged ME with that one.
And thanks for the other tag - the choices will be up this aft. :D
MMMM - Doc Watsons chips sound like they're for me - I luvs my taters.
Hello - I'll play of course. Boyf and I are playing as a couple so we'll do two I think.
Listening to your songs first though...
I've made myself hungry thinking about my fave food places & reading yours whilst listening to guitar songs in the background.... Now I'm stealing your other meme!
I like Noel Paul Stookey's riffs on "Puff the Magic Dragon" Cheers!!
Wow--music and food --how perfect for you Bondbaby.
But let me feel your head--YOU left off Garcia????
Smooch
bond you live in memphis honey!!! the barbeque capital of the world!!! corkies honey, corkies!!! yeesh... go there. like tonight. okay? oh, and bond? they have cake!!! and i would know...
smiles, bee
I think Marshall Tucker in general is underrated!
Good list Bond I like the fact that you went off the beaten path. Hopefully some folks can discover new music that way.
"Sunshine of Your Love"...gotta be my all time favorite. Smooches for making me feel better today, Bond Baby!!!
Love the food stuff, too!! IMHO, any steak place in that part of the country that serves a good espresso definitely deserves snaps.
observing this meme from a few different posts and I continue to be disappointed by the lack of Joe Satrriani or Stevie Ray Vaughn. But, I may not know music
I miss Memphis BBQ! Well, Arkansas really...but...still. :)
WOW, its not often that Duane and Dickie get a mention!
It would be very difficult to pick only five great solos...you did a good job!
wow so many bbq and steaks!!! meat meat meat!!! and ribs too??!!awww
Ps thanks for doing the tag. If you know of anyone else doing it please feel free to send me a message and I’ll update them too on the updated list of tag doers
Wooohoo... Germantown Commissary sounds great. I love bbq stuff especially ribs and sausages.
Ah.. The Butcher Shop is great too.. I guess you would have notice I am such a meat eater :D and to top that with a great cup of coffee... okay.. I must.. I must!
thanks for your list and doing the tag.
Wow, soooo cool ... now how do I get audio on my blog these days?
My restaurant meme is up.
You've been linked, here. You can also check out my post for some other Memphis-area recommendations. What part of town are you in?
Looks like you live close to where I used to live; when I was a contractor in Memphis, I lived in the Hunter's Trace apartments in the Poplar/Kirby area. But now I'm inside the loop in East Memphis, near I-240 at Perkins.
