Welcome To THE COUCH...Sit on Down and Get Comfy..
Hope everyone had a wonderful HALLOWEEN...full of safe fun, plenty of candy and some spooky times.
THE COUCH got back to the hotel and just decided to stay quiet and do some searches on youtube.com.
Not exactly what THE COUCH began looking for, but eventually got around to doing some music searches and today, THE COUCH is going to be a bit self-indulgent (hey that's the true definition of blogging anyway) and share some things found.
For those of you who are not real familiar with there artists, please please please sit back and let these load.
If you have a slow connection, as soon as the video begins to play, hit the pause button and allow them to fully load before playing them. It really ruins the mood if the videos pause over and over.
Anndi and Lynn...THE COUCH knows you can't watch them at work, but you will be in for a treat when you get home!
There is a common theme for these and that is the pairing of two wonderful guitarists on songs that will blow you away.
The first comes in two parts...due to it's length. It is from September 23, 1970...Fillmore East, New York City...this show became legend and one of the best live albums ever released...
Yes, it is The Allman Brothers Band...Listen to the interplay between Duane and Dickie Betts...Watch the facial expressions of Duane as he just makes the guitar sing and at the end of part two does a back and forth with his brother Greg...Whipping Post...
Next we visit the Vaughn Brothers, Jimmy and Stevie Ray. This is a special clip as the brothers play together but in an incredibly unique way...This is truly brotherly love! The first comes in two parts...due to it's length. Do not know where this next clip is from, though it looks to be a television show...George Benson teams with Carlos Santana on the song "Valdez"...cool as the other side of the pillow (with props to Stewart Scott of ESPN for the phrase)...
Finally... Las Vegas June, 26, 1994, just 14 months before Jerry left us.. The Grateful Dead perform one of my all time favorite songs "El Paso", the story of love and death and the consequences...Gotta love Bob Weir and Jerry in shorts...LOL
THE COUCH will be away until Monday, as I leave tomorrow to go back to NJ, pack the U-Haul and do the 16-hour drive with Matt...
The next time you sit here, it will officially be located in Memphis...
OK, Now I did it... how can I talk about living in Memphis without this last video...
No clue where it is from but...the legendary BB King, Eric Clapton and Phil Collins on the drums... Oh baby the Thrill will never be gone...
St. J - P.B.U.A.Q.B.
Thanks for sitting on THE COUCH, hope you enjoyed your stay.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Thanks for doing the 'heavy lifting' in finding these neat clips!!
So glad I can watch them at work
Awesome, Vinny!! Loved all of them, esp. the George Benson...late 70's I'll bet. My ex-DH had a white suit like that...how many polyesters died in that decade?? The B.B. King clip is from "A Night of Red Hot Blues" - I bought the video at a tag sale...done sometime in the mid 80's I think. DAMN I'M OLD!
Have a safe trip to Jersey and back...I'll bet the Couch can't wait to see its new home!!
:-( I can't watch at work either... bummer..
Oh, I'm so excited for you. Have a safe trip to NJ and back.
Is Matt moving down here with you?
I know I've heard that Allman Bros. piece before ... maybe on Wolfgang's vault? Loved the Vaughn Bros. video - what great performers! Altogether a delightful way to accompany oneself while preparing for a midterm. Thanks, Vinny, for the great music. I promise I'll go back later and really watch all the videos without distractions, but for now, the music is enough to feed the soul.
Drive safely and get lots of rest during your trip. Hugs, darlin'.
TURN: You are welcome...
PIA: Thanks for identifying the BB King clip...I truly enjoyed that one. Will do the trip safely.
DIXIE: Watch tonight darlin' ...will be safe and no, he is just helping me move...and flying home Sunday.
COCO: I am sure you have heard it many places...The vaughn Brothers is cool..watch closely when they swap necks and later on their fingers are in perfect sync...almost like you are looking at one image and it's reflection in a mirror. Rest! LOL yeah sure..not until next weekend when i sleep it away!
Wow!! Thanks for sharing those. I really enjoyed them all.
Drive safe.
Hugs, Robin
BB King, Eric Clapton, and Phil Collins?

Thanks Vince, worth the wait they were!
How I do miss Stevie Ray...
Be safe darlin...
Oh.. and I've seen Santana in concert 4 times, all in different type of venues, from outdoors by the water to a large arena.. and no matter where you find yourself in relation to the stage, he is a sight to behold. What that man can do with his guitar.... whoa!
SUE: Truth be told, I searched the Vaughn Brothers after your comment about them the other day...
ANNDI: Told it would be heheh - I never got to see Carlos...but I can imagine he is hot on stage
luv'd the video's! Takes me back!

Dang!! For another taste of Jimmy Vaughan, check out The Fabulous Thunderbirds. The man can wail - as you see here.
Man, Duane could really "swing and axe"! And loved the give and take at the end!
Thanks Vince!
