Begin today with an update on Joseph, our nephew. He is home and doing well. They need to do another MRI next week to see if the fluid on his brain has dissipated. Then the neurological tests begin to see if he has hearing loss or any other effects of the disease. Strong kid...just like his parents...
Aaron Baddeley finally won a PGA Tour event this past weekend. Not sure who "Badds" is? He is a young golfer who had TV commercials over a year ago when he first joined the tour. Car commercial with a bunch of bikini-clad women in the car with him... I love when they make a star out of someone who had not even sniffed the winners circle. Now it appears he has found religion, so don't expect anymore commercials like that one...Congratulations BADDS... about time dude.
From the "what do you want to be when you grow up" file... Firefighters in Ohio were battling a home blaze when the owner suddenly left the scene. Once the fire was out, firefighters found $700,000 worth of marijuana plants in the basement...I wanna be a firefighter...I wanna be a firefighter...I wanna be a firefighter...I wanna... I wanna...I wanna...
Have you heard the tale of Kyle MacDonald? This is incredible...He is a 26-year-old Canadian who wanted to buy a house last July, but did not have the money to do so. So, like anyone else would do, he looked around his desk and found a red paper clip. He went online and posted at his blog One Red Paper Clip. Based on an old children's game called "Bigger and Better" he offered the paper clip for trade. The paper clip became a pen shaped like a fish, which became a door knob. The door knob was traded for a Coleman stove. That was swapped for a 60-pound 1,000-watt generator. He traded that for a keg of beer and a lighted sign, and that turned into an old snowmobile. He was offered airfare, skiing and meals in Yahk, British Columbia for the old snowmobile. He traded that trip for a 1995 Ford truck. The truck went to a record producer who offered 80 hours of recording in a Toronto studio. That opportunity is one that a singer in Arizona was looking for, so they offered Kyle the use of their bungalow in Phoenix for a year. The saga of the paper clip into a house continues on his site.
OK..I have an old white sock, that has a small hole near the big toe...whattaya give me for it?
Two Duke lacrosse players were arrested this morning after a Grand Jury brought down indictments on both of them yesterday. Names had not been released, nor had the charges. At the same time there is supposedly pictures taken on a camera phone that shows the young woman leaving the party drunk, but unmolested. More to come on this sorrid affair...
All the news that you really did not care about... all told on the BIG LEATHER COUCH...What more can you ask for????
Tonight the 7 sing from the Rod Stewart's American Standards Albums. No real song spoilers out there...but Ace has to be on the edge this week. Chris might also struggle a bit as the contestants were told they would not be able to rearrange the music. Then again, he could do a marvelous job. Looking forward to seeing Taylor belt it out. Saturday Night Live did a parody of Taylor this weekend. You know you are making an impact if they are lampooning you. You can find that skit...here.
