Random Thoughts On A Friday

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Friday, March 31, 2006

Ah...Friday and a perfect spring day in NYC... time for those random thoughts...

• MLB names former Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell -- and currently a director of the Boston Red Sox, and chairman of the Walt Disney Company -- to lead the inquiry.
OK "'splain to me lucy" how someone with so much to lose in this investigation can lead the investigation??? I just do not see this as a smart move by Bud Selig.

• Next week is The Masters. Second favorite tournament of the year. How can you not love watching the players try and beat the course and the wonderful foliage which means it is SPRING AGAIN!!!! My desire would be to see Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson in the final pairing on Sunday and let them go at each other for 18 holes.

• Our nephew Joseph was rushed to the hospital this last week with Bacterial Menengitis...I have not posted about it, because I felt I needed to wait. Last word is, he is recovering nicely and they think there will be no neurological after effects... Prayer does help.

• I see that TV Guide listed their top 5 American idols and my man Taylor Hicks was not even listed. FOOLS FOOLS FOOLS....

• Then I open my Rolling Stone Magazine and they tick me off even more. Though they have Taylor being in the top 4, their comments... ARG!
"Spazzed-out Ray Charles mannerisms are annoying..."
"he's 29 and looks 45..."
"drop his inane SOUL PATROL slogan..." (note: that will never happen)
"Hick's ability to channel Charles and Joe Cocker and to revel in the sheer delight of performing have made him this season's coolest, truest weirdo." (see now I take THAT as a compliment)
Yet, if you go to their online site and read this story "IDOL WORSHIP" they link to a poll and ummmmmmm...guess who is leading their poll? Yup the coolest weirdo... HA.

• Another American Idol note... Paula Abdul has been signed for another three sesaon. Of course Simon Cowell is back.. wonder if Randy Jackson will be moving on and who they will get to replace him.

Has Barry Bonds retired yet? No? Too bad.

Keep that spark of insanity kids...it helps keep you an individual.
