Thursday Award and Call For Help....

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Thursday, May 21, 2009

So, like one of the first people I met in March of 2006 on the American Idol boards was a fellow New Yorker/Bronxite named Busy. Busy and I were part of the original band of 6-10 who formed THE SOUL PATROL - rumor has it that Busy even came up with the moniker.

I can't remember...I tend to have STML (right TURNBABY?).

But that is not the point of what is coming up...I know - hurry along sonny, we have tons of other cool blogs to read - so anywhoodle and HECK-A-DOODLE, when the Hoochies & The Hotties were formed, Busy was an original member and went by Rocker Hoochie. Busy and I bonded over our love of classic rock and roll and the girl owns an original vinyl of Iron Butterfly's Inna-Gadda-Da-Vida!

Add to the above, she sews, and reads (I mean like a book every other day - she has read more than any person I have ever met), and she is raising two fine children and if you don't know Busy, you should! You can visit here at "BUSY WITH LIFE".

The last year or so, we have drifted apart...Busy was not blogging as much - or at least I could not find where she was blogging - she would make an occasional comment here, but I could tell she had visited more often.

Then on Tuesday evening, I received this comment:

I love the 'True Blood' picture dude.
Of course I would expect no less a picture from you.

I want to give you an award, but am not sure where you would
fit it on your page, but if you want it, it is on
my blog for you and here is the link if it works.

Of course it will fit on my page and as I am close to putting up a page for all my awards, it will receive a place there also...

Here is the award and the words that go with it:

The Rules of Accepting and Sharing this Award

1. Put the logo on your blog or post.

2. Nominate a few bloggers who show an attitude of gratitude

3. Link to your nominees within your post.

4. Comment on their blogs to let them know they've received this award.

5. Share the love and link to this post and the person who nominated you for the award.

6. Tell us how you've come to have an attitude of gratitude.

Then the above mentioned Turnbaby decided to bestow the award on the original H&H clan, which was all gushy and stuff, which means MATT-MAN of "Bagwine Ruminations" a tingle...but more on that in a moment.

Now, I have to name a few bloggers...

Well, it is a meme and we do have a Queen of memes - and she is eternally grateful to all of her loyal minions who fly their Peace Globes each year. She is also - and I have said this a ka-billion times - a brilliant writer who takes her readers on journeys of fancy and tales of love and life all done in an impeccably styled pencil-skirt. I present the award to my blogger buddy, MIMI of "Mimi Writes".

Next will be one special lady. She is a loving mother, a good friend, an activist for the ills she sees in the world, a creative writer and she does it all while she is in pain with various ailments. Does she speak of these often? Not at all.

What she will speak on is her causes and she speaks loud and clear. She will write Wordzzles like no ones business...and she will make you smile with tales of her youth.

Oh and did I mention that, when she has her snark on, there are very few who can keep up with her? Well, tis the truth kiddies. Finally, DIANNE of "Forks Off The Moment"is a good blogger buddy.

Finally, this lady is raising two kids to love and respect the world as she does. She sings for her church choir, she volunteers in her children's school, she is sweet and caring and has a mouth like an interstate truck driver when she lets it rip...
All of her friends and loved ones say a little prayer each day that the ills she suffers will lessen so that she can enjoy her children even more.

She is selfish though...she is off to the beach and not once...NOT ONCE...did I get an invite to join she and her family...I just do not understand!?!?!?

Nah, seriously...DESERT SONGBIRD of "The Ice Box" you are a good blogger buddy!

Above, I made a mention that MATT-MAN of "Bagwine Ruminations" would get a tingle from the fact that someone was gushy. You see, we need your help.

You must go over to his site and help deprogram him. It seems that Matt-Man's body and mind have been invaded by the spirit of Mr. Rogers. He is spreading his saccharine laden thoughts across the bloggosphere turning it into his own personal "BIZARRO WORLD" and causing some people to begin acting like zombies.

Don't believe me? Well, we thought some might be skeptical, so we hired one of the best, most insistent paparazzi to capture a picture of Matt-Man as he exists, today, in his Bagwine abode...

Please call 1-666-ReleaseHisSoul to help.

Finally today, we send our best out to Amy Mickelson. Amy is the wife of PGA golfer, Phil Mickelson and it was announced yesterday that she has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

Tests will continue and treatment is expected to begin with “major surgery” within two weeks, according to an announcement from Gaylord Sports, Mickelson’s management firm.

Because of this, and rightfully so, Phil has withdrawn from the PGA tour for an "indefinite period of time". Our prayers go out to Amy, Phil, and their 3 children.

20 Of Your Sparks

  1. Schmoop Says:
  2. What? You don't want to be my neighbor, Vinny? I'm crushed, but I won't let that change my fond affection for others like you.

And best wishes to Amy and the Mickelson family. Cheers!!

  3. Dana Says:
  4. I don't know Vinny, I'm kind of liking the yin/yang of Matt-Man these days. No! I didn't say I liked his yang - get your mind out of the gutter!

Congratulations on the award - it's well deserved!

  5. Liz Hill Says:
  6. He's just doing the 'opposite' thing LOL

    SMOOCH

  7. MATT-MAN: Help is on the way

DANA: Please you need to seek assistance...you have been infected.

TURNBABY: Thus the Bizarro World reference!
    SMOOCH

  8. Patti Says:
  9. Does Matt-Man allow new neighbors to visit him in his neighborhood? I could stop by and pay him a visit. But my blog is saccharine-y most of the time, so ... I may not fit in!

Although we always manage to have a box of Bagwine around. Ralph makes sure of that.

Very sorry to hear about Mickelson's wife. Prayers for their family.

  10. PATTI: I guess if you ever plan on visiting Matt's now is the time, though thoday is a guest poster and Schmoop has not been infected by this Bizarro Disease ... yet.

  11. Patti Says:
  12. Haha, well I shall have to go see the man.

Congrats on the much-deserved buddy award.

  13. I think Matty's weird psycho dementia must have backwards infected me. I plead insanity for my "interstate trucker mouth" laced-post of today. *grin*

Thank you for the kind words, my friend.

  14. SONGBIRD: I of course wrote the "Interstate trucker mouth" before I read today's rant - so thanks for affirming my statement!

    LOL

  15. Dianne Says:
  16. And I pick today to whine a bit on my blog! what is it with me and timing? I also mentioned you today - in conjunction with breast pumps - not nearly as eloquent as you are about me

thanks Vin - I had to read your words twice and make sure the link really was me - your timing my friend is impeccable - I needed to hear something good

as for Matty - the sweeter and kinder he is the more we show our dark sides trying to bring him back - and he laughs ;)

  17. DIANNE: Of course they were for you - silly...funny how we were leaving comments at the same time...
    Kismet...indeed

  18. Jay Says:
  19. I'm very concerned about this new leaf Matt-Man is turning over. I'm afraid he's going to start praising Joyce Mayer or John Hagee. The horror!

Maybe if we drove up to Bagwine and all drove through the beer mines asking for obscure beers we could get him to snap out of this? ;-)

  20. JAY: he doesn't own a gun right?

  21. Tug Says:
  22. Well deserved award - congrats!

    Prayers to the Mickelsons...

I *knew* Matt was really Mr. Rogers, I just KNEW it. ;-)

  23. Fred Says:
  24. I didn't hear the news about Amy Mickelson. Breast cancer hit pretty close to home for me when one of the Six'Em couldn't attend a summer trip becuase his wife was undergoing treatment. Thankfully, it all worked out and she's been cancer-free for many years.

  25. Travis Cody Says:
  26. Matt freaked me out a little yesterday when I cruised by. In fact, I was so freaked out I couldn't think of a single thing to say in comments.

Those are some top flight bloggers you named there. I read each of them routinely.

And just in case it hasn't been clear lately how I feel about cancer, let me just say that I can't even explain how much I hate that f&%(*$g disease.

  27. Bud Fisher Says:
  28. A big congrats to you & your friends! You are doing good work here...

  29. HAH! I called him Mr. Rogers too. It's creepy in Bagland.

  30. Julie Says:
  31. Oooooh fantastic picture there Mr. Vinny! Awww thanks for giving Mimi's props! I love her place!

  32. TopChamp Says:
  33. Heavy sky! I love the perspective of the road - all bendy.

That's good - that he's taken time out for her. Good that he can afford to too... I met a friend on Weds for lunch who we thought had been clear of breast cancer for the past couple of years but it's back and they can't do anything now. She's quite angry but has to appear positive for her family. I didn't really know what to say - just listened. Having support at home is really important - wishing the Mickelsons the best.
