With the IBC coming up, there is a ton of music to be loaded from the entrants, 6 more sponsorship ads to record, some technical tests needing to be run and a lot of organization still to be done.

Add to this it is the busy time of year at work, it is time for me to take a short break.

Be back the week of February 6th!

Hope y'all come listen to the IBC broadcasts. Check out the schedule on the IBC page at Music On The Couch.

PhilPutnam
As the fat, girly kid in an athlete’s world, Phil Putnam rode the bench and read his books while his brain got bigger and his pride shrunk smaller. With the onset of Tourette’s Syndrome at age 9 and no solid music experience until high school, he was the clear long shot for a career in music.
His ambition, however, having all the subtlety of a teenager on prom night, never let up. He studied singing through high school and discovered a shockingly strong talent in piano when he taught himself to play in college. It wasn’t long before he combined his fresh musical skills with a lifelong love of writing and was introduced to his future.

Thursday Award and Call For Help....

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Thursday, May 21, 2009 20 Of Your Sparks

So, like one of the first people I met in March of 2006 on the American Idol boards was a fellow New Yorker/Bronxite named Busy. Busy and I were part of the original band of 6-10 who formed THE SOUL PATROL - rumor has it that Busy even came up with the moniker.

I can't remember...I tend to have STML (right TURNBABY?).

But that is not the point of what is coming up...I know - hurry along sonny, we have tons of other cool blogs to read - so anywhoodle and HECK-A-DOODLE, when the Hoochies & The Hotties were formed, Busy was an original member and went by Rocker Hoochie. Busy and I bonded over our love of classic rock and roll and the girl owns an original vinyl of Iron Butterfly's Inna-Gadda-Da-Vida!

Add to the above, she sews, and reads (I mean like a book every other day - she has read more than any person I have ever met), and she is raising two fine children and if you don't know Busy, you should! You can visit here at "BUSY WITH LIFE".

The last year or so, we have drifted apart...Busy was not blogging as much - or at least I could not find where she was blogging - she would make an occasional comment here, but I could tell she had visited more often.

Then on Tuesday evening, I received this comment:

I love the 'True Blood' picture dude.
Of course I would expect no less a picture from you.

I want to give you an award, but am not sure where you would
fit it on your page, but if you want it, it is on
my blog for you and here is the link if it works.

Of course it will fit on my page and as I am close to putting up a page for all my awards, it will receive a place there also...

Here is the award and the words that go with it:

The Rules of Accepting and Sharing this Award

1. Put the logo on your blog or post.

2. Nominate a few bloggers who show an attitude of gratitude

3. Link to your nominees within your post.

4. Comment on their blogs to let them know they've received this award.

5. Share the love and link to this post and the person who nominated you for the award.

6. Tell us how you've come to have an attitude of gratitude.

Then the above mentioned Turnbaby decided to bestow the award on the original H&H clan, which was all gushy and stuff, which means MATT-MAN of "Bagwine Ruminations" a tingle...but more on that in a moment.

Now, I have to name a few bloggers...

Well, it is a meme and we do have a Queen of memes - and she is eternally grateful to all of her loyal minions who fly their Peace Globes each year. She is also - and I have said this a ka-billion times - a brilliant writer who takes her readers on journeys of fancy and tales of love and life all done in an impeccably styled pencil-skirt. I present the award to my blogger buddy, MIMI of "Mimi Writes".

Next will be one special lady. She is a loving mother, a good friend, an activist for the ills she sees in the world, a creative writer and she does it all while she is in pain with various ailments. Does she speak of these often? Not at all.

What she will speak on is her causes and she speaks loud and clear. She will write Wordzzles like no ones business...and she will make you smile with tales of her youth.

Oh and did I mention that, when she has her snark on, there are very few who can keep up with her? Well, tis the truth kiddies. Finally, DIANNE of "Forks Off The Moment"is a good blogger buddy.

Finally, this lady is raising two kids to love and respect the world as she does. She sings for her church choir, she volunteers in her children's school, she is sweet and caring and has a mouth like an interstate truck driver when she lets it rip...
All of her friends and loved ones say a little prayer each day that the ills she suffers will lessen so that she can enjoy her children even more.

She is selfish though...she is off to the beach and not once...NOT ONCE...did I get an invite to join she and her family...I just do not understand!?!?!?

Nah, seriously...DESERT SONGBIRD of "The Ice Box" you are a good blogger buddy!

Above, I made a mention that MATT-MAN of "Bagwine Ruminations" would get a tingle from the fact that someone was gushy. You see, we need your help.

You must go over to his site and help deprogram him. It seems that Matt-Man's body and mind have been invaded by the spirit of Mr. Rogers. He is spreading his saccharine laden thoughts across the bloggosphere turning it into his own personal "BIZARRO WORLD" and causing some people to begin acting like zombies.

Don't believe me? Well, we thought some might be skeptical, so we hired one of the best, most insistent paparazzi to capture a picture of Matt-Man as he exists, today, in his Bagwine abode...

Please call 1-666-ReleaseHisSoul to help.

Finally today, we send our best out to Amy Mickelson. Amy is the wife of PGA golfer, Phil Mickelson and it was announced yesterday that she has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

Tests will continue and treatment is expected to begin with “major surgery” within two weeks, according to an announcement from Gaylord Sports, Mickelson’s management firm.

Because of this, and rightfully so, Phil has withdrawn from the PGA tour for an "indefinite period of time". Our prayers go out to Amy, Phil, and their 3 children.

Christmas Movies, A Secret and The Garden Of Eden...

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Thursday, November 29, 2007 24 Of Your Sparks

TIME TO DONATE SOME RICE TODAY!
<-----------------------------------------------

Go check out the updated count of grains donated over at Anndi's.

Well tonight got away from us. We met our new friend for a couple of drinks and when we got home we looked around and saw how much we had let the apartment get away from us. Now all y'all can probably suspect that when we get into something we just fall into it full force...

This caused us to miss the show over at THE MO SHOW and then the chat set up by THE QUEEN OF THE MEMES, Ms. Mimi...

And finally, it was real freakin' late and we sat down to start posting something...

GUESS WHAT????? We have no idea what we are going to write about now... LOL

The TV is on and we just hit the TiVo button to start one of our favorite shows, CRIMINAL MINDS...gee, you mean you could not guess that we absolutely love a show that is all about serial killers?

AND YOU KNOW WHAT????? We missed "How The Grinch Stole Christmas"!!!!! How could we let that happen???? Totally missed the little green dude trying to steal the holiday from the Whos...the fiend!

Of course, it is based on the book by Dr. Seuss and it originally aired in 1966! (Dang, we did not even realize it was that old!)...starring Boris Karloff as the voice of The Grinch...and directed by the incomparable Chuck Jones.
You totally know Chuck Jones...He directed many of the classic short animated cartoons starring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, the Road Runner & Wile E. Coyote, Pepé Le Pew and the other Warners characters, including the memorable What's Opera, Doc? (1957), Duck Amuck (1952) (both later inducted into the National Film Registry) and Jones' famous "Hunting Trilogy" of Rabbit Fire, Rabbit Seasoning, and Duck! Rabbit! Duck!, establishing himself as an important innovator and storyteller.

So, what is your favorite Christmas TV show? Besides The Grinch, there is one other movie that we can not do without is Jean Shepherd's "A Christmas Story"...It follows the trials and tribulations of Ralphie Parker as he tries to convince his parents to by him "an official Red Ryder, carbine action, two-hundred shot range model air rifle, with a compass in the stock and 'this thing' which tells time"

His mom absolutely refuses this request because...and we all heard this or something similar to it from our parent's growing up that he would
"shoot his eye out".

When Ralphie does get the rifle on Christmas morning he is so excited he throws on his rubber boots and coat over his pajamas and runs out the back door, slips on the ice, the rifle goes off, a BB flies out, ricochets and hits his glasses shattering them....HORRORS, he almost shot his eye out!

There are many sub-plots throughout including the infamous scene where one of Ralphie's friends, Schwartz 'double-dog-dares' another friend Flick to put his tongue on the frozen pole in the school-yard. As anyone (especially our friends from the Great White North) knows, this is something you should not do and Flick's tongue sticks solid...an amazingly funny scene...

Ya gotta watch it if you never have....

pssssssssssssssssst....c'mere...we have a secret to share...

TODAY is a birthday
we wonder for WHO?
We know it's for somebody
But do you know WHO?
She's laughing
she's smiling
my goodness it's YOU

Happy Birthday MIMI
From all of us to YOU
Happy Birthday MIMI
From all in the dungeon too

We congratulate YOU
and may all of your dreams come TRUE

Happy Birthday MIMI
the bloggosphere
LOVES YOU!

Yuppers...head on OVER HERE and tell
QUEEN MIMI
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

This one is an all time favorite of ours and is also a big fav of our good friend Hoochie Mama Busy (Rocker Hoochie)...

From their 1968 album of the same title, this was the biggest hit for IRON BUTTERFLY...one of the first full-album side songs. One of the most memorable parts of the song is the guitar riff, which is also one of the most recognizable guitar riffs in rock music. It also contains an incredible drum solo and is recognized as the song that brought progressive rock into the 'heavy metal' age..."In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida"

Doug Ingle: Organ, keyboards, clavinet, piano, vocals.
Erik Brann: Guitars, violin, vocals.
Lee Dorman: Bass guitar.
Ron Bushy: Drums, percussion

Off to watch some serial killer stuff....hehehehehehehehehe

C-C-C-C-C-C-Changes

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Wednesday, June 27, 2007 29 Of Your Sparks

[couchdivider.gif]

It is late to begin this...we know it...
SO, THE HELL WITH IT...PLAY A SONG AND THEY WILL BE HAPPY...
NOW, THAT JUST IS NOT THE WAY TO TREAT GUESTS...
GUESTS SMESTS...I WANNA SLEEP
NOW BOTH OF YOU - SETTLE DOWN OR THIS IS GOING TO TAKE TWICE AS LONG!

Anyway...so PIA is going to see Taylor tomorrow
TONIGHT DUMMY
WELL, YES TONIGHT, YOU COULD HAVE BEEN NICER...
LOOK, WE TYPE THIS THE NIGHT BEFORE...EASY MISTAKE
NOT IF YOU HAD BRAINS...

To continue, she is going to the Meet & Greet
and wanted to bring him a picture of some of his fans

So we grabbed a couple of pictures and worked at the MAC
letting Photo Shop do it's thing...

Thought we would share the journey...

[couchdivider.gif]

Here are the four photos we began with. We had to change the dpi on the main shot,
but were able to keep focus...
(YOU CAN CLICK ON ANY PICTURE TO ENLARGE)

The Group Shot From WorkPlay
Birmingham, AL March 10, 2007
From left:
Bodacious Hootchie (Pia), Hottie Bond, Snarky Hootchie (Maryfly),
Tez, Sexy Hootchie (Anndi), and Randy Hootchie (Turn)

Tez, third from right, though a doll is not part of the little group we have called
"Hootchies & The Hotties"...
when composing the final product, she will be replaced...
Missing were the following three:

Rocker Hootchie (Busy) could not make the trip...

Sugarbaby Hootchie (Dixie) is second from right and was caring for Mom

Hottie Travis was resting and did not make it...

[couchdivider.gif]

SO WE BEGAN...

OK, so...first we cropped Busy from her picture.
Then we flopped her to fit where we wanted to place her.

[couchdivider.gif]

Then from the main photo we pulled out Tez and Anndi

[couchdivider.gif]

We silhouetted Anndi to put her back in.
We needed her to be able to be placed on top of Busy after she was placed.

[couchdivider.gif]

So, here is where we are at this point...messy...

[couchdivider.gif]

Busy slides in where Tez was; Anndi goes in right on top of her
exactly where she was before...

[couchdivider.gif]

We crop Dixie...notice her son Matt's sleeve made this interesting...

[couchdivider.gif]

We were going to place Dixie between Mary and I, so Mary gets silhouetted

[couchdivider.gif]

Had to silo me at this point

[couchdivider.gif]

We also did a silo on Pia, but in the end it was not necessary

[couchdivider.gif]

So, now we have Mary and I separated and Dixie "sort of" in place

[couchdivider.gif]

Took Travis, silhouetted him and flopped him too

[couchdivider.gif]

Well...you have to have a title

Here is the finished product...
Completed start to finish in 4 hours...

Not happy with some parts, like we just noticed Travis is not covering all of Busy,
and we did not extend her body far enough...ARG
but the concert is tonight...soooooooooo
