Let's begin the weekend with a little chest pumping...Two most excellent women both honored me with awards yesterday and I feel so proud..."You like me...you really really like me..."
First off Queen Mimi owner of "Mimi Writes", Queen of Bloggingham Palace, keeper of the Peace Globes and, as I have called her since the first day I found her, a brilliant writer, has bestowed upon The Couch an award originally begun by our good friend Roger from "Idaho Daily Photo" and "Creative Photo Contest" fame...
This is what the Queen writes: "Now you may ask, why would I want to award a guy who blatantly usurps the authority of my pencil skirt on a regular basis? He is one blog sentence shy of lifetime punishment in the dungeon for mutiny at any given moment. ALWAYS organizing some sort of revolt at Bloggingham Palace. Na-na-na-na-boo-booing my meme requests is his specialty - and then he runs away!
What's a Queen to do? But I've gotta admit it keeps things interesting. And most of all - he's my friend - and someone I've watched find his own lovely love in the real world, sharing his joy with us on his blog. He sooo deserves his very own Princess. He's lucky in love with his Darlin' Nancy and I'm just plain lucky to call him my friend, as he is to many other people in the blogosphere. And that's a fact."
Thank you dear friend and I am glad you are feeling better these days.
Mary, you honor me with this...putting a smile on the faces of my guests is what i strive for each evening as I put my posts together.

Then Mary/The Teach - owner of "Work Of The Poet", and originator of RUBY TUESDAY - and another excellent writer bestowed this honor on me. She came up with this one all on her own and she states that "Every morning I wake up I notice that I dance into my office and sit down at my computer with the happy expectation that I will touch base with my dear Blogger Friends. It occurred to me to create this award for those friends."
Ah shucks...she knows I love female feet and shoes...but I don't see any heels on this guy! LOL

Those who know me well, know I am not much of a tagger...so I ask you...If you look in the mirror and ask yourself "Do I Rock?" and/or "Do I give people Happy Feet?"...AND you answer "YES" to either or both of them, then grab hold of the award(s) and dance around as you rock on...
We will feature one new artist today.
Dudley Saunders hails from West Hollywood, CA and is gaining quite a following. I totally enjoyed the songs sent to me and think you will also.
From his bio: Described by critics as "surreal, modern folk tales," Dudley's performance pieces were a fixture on New York's East Village scene in the late '80s and 90s. But as he began to merge the Appalachian music of his native Kentucky with the post-modern art-rock and jazz he heard at New York’s Knitting Factory, he began to draw an entirely new audience who convinced him to pour all his surreal images into the songs.
With its emotional tight-vibrato and effortless range, Dudley's voice is often compared to Chris Isaak and Jeff Buckley, and MuzikReviews recently declared it "one of the best voices on the alt-country scene."
Dudley's influences include Radiohead, Rickie Lee Jones, Sonic Youth, Neil Young and Joan Baez
You have to love a man who entitles one of his pieces "Love Song For Jeffrey Dahmer"

OK, how do you feel about Dudley?
You TOTALLY rock! I don't know about making my feet happy but you make my eyes happy :)
Dudley is a little too somber for my tastes, but I do think he is a very good artist.
And yes, your blog rocks. Me, I don't rock, but I have been known to roll.
Have a great week-end.
Have a great weekend Vin, and rock on. Cheers!!
He has an interesting sound, but it's not really for me.
And you should be proud...it's not everyone who can openly defy the Queen and get rewarded for it. LOL!
Your blog does rock, and your tutelages make one's feet quite happy. Deserved you are!
I will listen later--just wanted to say have a good weekend!
Where's the happy ears award?? By the way, congrats on the two awards you did win - you are quite deserving!
Really love this Dudley Saunders and likely would never had heard him had I not been sitting on the couch!
Oh I like this guy. He does remind me of Radiohead. Or more specifically he reminds of Thom Yorke in the fictional band Venus in Furs in Velvet Goldmine where in Thom sings ala Brian Ferry.
As to your rockingness, that goes without saying! I do NOT have happy feet at the mo' though. I just ran over my toe with my office chair. 45 mins to go and I am getting me Taco Bell and beer on my way home. Dammit!
BARBARA: Thanks so much
DRILLERAA: I think you rock...your commitment to family and your faith both rock
MATT-MAN: and you too my brotha
TRAVIS: Defying Mimi is my goal in life!
RALPH: Thank you Sir
TURNBABY: Hope you come back
DANA: Glad I could introduce him to you
STARRLIGHT: Yeah..he has an incredible sound...Hope the toe feels better...shall I kiss it?
Thanks for the shout this week. I will be resting on The Couch again tomorrow...
Vinny you deserve the Happy Feet Award! Glad you like it! :)
I really like him for those mellow moments...otherwise he may put me to sleep I'm afraid.
Congrats on your awards!!
Vin - You deserve all the awards you can get and I'm so happy to royally bestow it upon thee....gosh, that sounded so weird...
