This week I am submitting a shot that I have creatively enhanced using Adobe Photoshop.

I took the original scene, shot in the Pocono Mountains during the fall. I enhanced the colors to give more contrast to the shot.

Then I went into the filters area of Photoshop and played some.

Below is the result...Hope you like it:
(All should enlarge when clicked on - including the one from yesterday)

My Submission:

This is the original shot:

This is the original after I added contrast, so you can see the difference:

Now, about yesterdays RUBY TUESDAY submission. A couple of people said they say the 'dog'...many did not...So, I have gone in and traced where I see the dog barking...

Now do you see it, or am I still one peanut shy of a box of Cracker Jacks?

As of this writing, no one commented on the Pink Floyd song from yesterday. this scares me! LOL Was it that the song scared you or that you just thought I was totally losing my marbles?

(Finally, Dana spoke up! WOOOOO)

So, today we will go with something more 'conventional'...

From THE BEATLES ANTHOLOGY 3 album which was released in October 1996. It is special as it includes rarities and alternative tracks from the final two years of the band.

It ranges from the initial sessions for the THE WHITE ALBUM through the last sessions for LET IT BE and ABBEY ROAD in 1969.

A third John Lennon solo demo entitled "Now and Then", patched up by the three surviving Beatles, was supposed to be released on the album, but was deleted at the last second because of a buzzing noise which could not be removed from the recording.

Two for you...the brilliant George Harrison composition "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", this is a mellower version of the song compared to the version they released. Personally, I have always enjoyed this one more. Strangely, this was the "Demo" version of the song, which George recorded to allow the other band members to hear.

Then, a song I always loved because it showed the band's 'fun' side. When the song was recorded, some felt this was Paul's parody of the Dylan album JOHN WESLEY HARDING. Hey...anyone that can write a song about a raccoon has to be feeling 'creative'.... hehee

This is labeled as "Take 8" and you will notice a difference in the lyrics from the final version...

"Rocky Raccoon"...

  2. I LOVE conventional! The Beatles are "history" for me. They take me back. I don't have the right words to express it, I just love them whole heartedly. That version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps is really good but the released version is so FAMILIAR to me...it's the one I embrace. And it always seemed to me that the White Album made fun of various genres of music. Which is a cool way to poke fun.

Oh, and your Photography submission was fantastic.

I was a bit surprised that no one commented on the music feature yesterday. I can see that it might be a love it or hate it kind of piece, but I found it far more creative than Rocky Raccoon!

    Just sayin ...

I get tears in my eyes when I listen to almost any Beatles' song. Maybe that's why I don't listen much. ;-)

And that red dog - he has a heckuva long tail. See it?

I like your fall foliage shot and how you altered it. Good luck in the contest!

  53. desert rat Says:

Great version of "Gently Weeps." Now, however, rather than Mo's "Copacabana," I am going to have "Rocky Raccoon" stuck in my head! Aaeeeiiii!
