OK Bruce fans...big news for all y'all...
Columbia Records will release Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band's "MAGIC TOUR HIGHLIGHTS" on July 15 via all digital download stores, including the iTunes Store. The release will consist of four audio tracks with four accompanying videos, all recorded live in concert during the 'Magic' tour.
Bob Clearmountain mixed and Bob Ludwig mastered the songs. Frequent Springsteen collaborator and GRAMMY and Emmy Award-winner Thom Zimny edited the videos.
On sales of these downloads, the artists, songwriters, and music publishers are waiving all of their royalties, and Columbia Records is donating all of its net profits, to the Danny Federici Melanoma Fund. The iTunes Store is donating their first year's net profits as well.
Tune in over at BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN for download information on July 15!

Ah.... HALF NAKED THURSDAY...I still have an idea in my head, but have not been able to put it together...My creativity has begun to resurface and I am almost positive I will be able to achieve the results I envision for next week.
In the meantime, I know all y'all will be dramatically disappointed and some might even fall into huge bouts of depression if I don't attempt something this week...so here goes...
I present you with "THE BACK"

While I was doing the photography and making the color adjustments, this song hit the shuffle...
And I immediately flashed to my high school days...not for JOAN AND THE BLACKHEARTS, but to TOMMY JAMES & THE SHONDELLS...The band I was in, Peace Of Mynd (HEY it was the late 60's early 70's!) did our own version of this song with Al, our keyboard player taking lead vocals...
So....
Ah...for our newer guests...the PEACE OF MYND in my parents den area...
I gotta say, I've always preferred the Tommy James and Shondells version of "Crimson and Clover."
Oh, and the HNT photo? Very artsy in B&W, especially with your hair.
Yes, I'd have certainly lost my mind had you not ventured in to the HNT realm again!
Want to let you know that I got the package, but am (hopefully) doing a vlog with Cam opening it!
Not a fan of Bruce, sorry. Am a fan of HNT and I like yours. Mmmm now there is a back I don't mind being turned my way. The test picture had me wondering for a minute if one of the cats spiked my coffee :)
On that last HNT pic, I am glad you explained. For a minute I thought I had just consumed some bad bagwine. Cheers Vin!!
You guys were good! I know where you are, kinda. Where is that keyboard player.
Ah, the classic "Garage Band" hard at work.
Got anymore dog photos? LOL!!
Have a great day.
SONGBIRD: Agree on the song...and thank you
DANA: LOL silly ...and looking forward to the Vlog
LU': Look out for the cats...they do those things...glad you enjoyed.
MATT-MAN: Sure yoou were not woozy from seeing the others? LOL
MICKEY-T: LOL...Keyboard player is standing behind the electric keyboard...I am on the right.
DRILLERAA: LOL yup that was us! I am holding out the other dog pics! LOL
Thank you for sparing me the bout of depression :) I love the color of your hair by the way! HHNT!!!
YAY BRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCE!!
And good on YOU---back shots are vvsexay.
And we are chuckling in a sweet way about Peace of Mynd.
SMOOCH
Hey, you guys rocked! That was excellent!
I'm a big Springsteen fan so I'll be downloading those songs!
I'm with Desert. I like the original best. Ditto for Do You Want To Touch Me? by Gary Glitter. Joan did a fine job with both and I totally enjoy her versions but I gotta stick with the original.
That last picture was trippy, dude. Should had some Doors kickin for that one!
Now we see if you too are a victim of the sexism Matt has experienced.
BABY: My public duty to keep depression to a minimum...THANKS
TURNBABY: Stop the chuckling ...right now MISSY
JAY: Yeah we did, but that was Tommy...ya knew that ...right????
STARRLIGHT: Yup that song too...
Ah Oz came by to visit me the last time, but I did not want to break matt's heart...LOL
He did? Uh oh.....
Queue The Jets and The Sharks fight music!
Nancy did a great job with the wax!
the special effects through me a bit....
someday...all music will be available immediately on demand...
I'm going to jump on the "original bandwagon" about "Crimson & Clover," and even "Do You Want To Touch Me?"
Great shot of your band.
STARR: "When you're a Jet you're a Jet all the way from your first cigarette to your last dying day...."
KATHERINE: Nah... I am not a hairy guy....LOL and you are correct...more and more will be available on demand...the bands taking control of their product
RWA: Originals rock...
Yay for the bruce album..I will def download that. Thanks for sharing.
Love the pictures...very nice indeed.
can't hear the tunes :-( maybe its me. I'll keep trying..
and is there nothing grander than those sepia toned images from our childhood. Love it...!!
HUGS!!
I was in that den a few times. Great memories.
Thanks for all the Bruce info. Between you and Barbara, I'm totally up-to-speed these days with The Boss.
WOO-HOO!!! Bruce Springsteen AND a HNT-entry. Could there be any better day to return to Blogland? I guess not!
By the way... Thank you so much for all your kind comments during the pregnancy and on Lily's birth announcement (which was the cutest comment ever!)
the guy in the bush…is that you?
Come on....Where is he NOW!...
You guys sounded so good that I thought maybe he was still playing somewhere.
LEELEE: I am also excited by the Bruce news...keep trying and thanks on the pictures
SANNI: Welcome back sweetie...glad you liked my comment hehehehehe
KATHERINE: iT IS not me....
MICKEY-T: OOOps..no sorry that was not us ...that is Tommy James and the Shondells...we were good..not that good!
The Boss rocks. And so do TJ & the Shondells. joan's version was great and SO controversial. Was she a lesbian? The horror. The band shotis great as well...
I hear it now....I love Crimson and Clover
ATTENTION FELLOW FANS OF BRUCE:
The above mentioned release of those songs is worth it for the April 7th performance of "Ghost" with Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello. I would be getting it if that was the ONLY song on it! I saw it live and it was mesmerizing to say the least.
Now about Vinny's back - has anyone ever seen such a sexy one in their life? I haven't. Nice!! Especially for an old dude :)
PS I love both versions of the song but hands down Tommy et al's version is BEST
BUD: Seems like TJ&TS wins outright....
LEELEE: Glad you got to hear it
BARBARA: I am looking forward to downloading on the 15th...and ah shucks...The compliment was great but the "old dude" could have been left off! LOL
Yes it is the best version.
I like the work of the Boss, but really enjoy the earlier more urban songs form 1973-75. If I could see the Boss live these days, and I could request the play list, I'd like:
- Saint In the City
- Kitty's Back
- Wild Billy's Circus Story
- Does This Bus Stop At 82nd Street?
Obscure, to say the least. Were you guys proficient in basement/garage rock genre...nothing like mid-late 60s with an electric organ.
RALPH: All great songs...indeed.
Our songlist ranged from Tommy James to Cream to Hendrix to The Cyrkle, Some Joe Cocker and near the end we explored some Dead...
I can't wait to see what you have in mind that requires that mind-boggling effect!
Happy HNT :)
... and so I have only recently discovered that my rental truck has Sirius which has "Boss Radio!" Who knew?!
Great music! Love your Garage (or would that be "Den?") Band! Ha!
Veeeerrrryyy nice HNT - you have simply lovely hair (on your head, I mean, the head with eyes, nose, mouth, etc...) okay, I'm leaving now.
I just popped in to say hi-I'm still digging myself out of the wonderful world of google reader!
:)
Wonderful thing the musicians, songwriters & publishers are doing!
My, what broad shoulders you have...love the last effect!
Tommy James & the Shondells...wow. That brings back some memories!
I like the JJ, but I much prefer the TJ version of Crimson & Clover. Thanks for putting them both up.
And the shaken effect on the photo made me dizzy!
RO: Well that is the experiment that proves the theory!
ADR: Just discovered? LOL First thing you do is check the sound system...Well that day it was the den..and I knew you meant my head...I think
TUG: Yes it is cool that they are giving it all...Might have to do a post on TJ
TRAVIS: Glad you enjoyed...I like the JJ...but no comparison...LOL I will try and not make you dizzy next week..well maybe but...nevermind...LOL
You know any Bruce news will get me to comment. I think I may have to start a june 15 calendar
Love Crimson and Clover. Brings back scandalous memories....sort of....
