I can't tell you why...Looking for some help here. If you think you know what is happening, please let me know. I have done nothing to my template and now in the last few days, there are some people who do not see the gray background behind the posts, but see straight through to the dark blue background.
It appears to happen with both XP and Vista. So far it looks like it is only happening to people using IE. Yet, on my work laptop using XP and checking the site using IE, I see the gray background. I have seen a code that "corrects a problem with IE" on some of the templates I have worked on, but when I inserted it into my template the gray background DISAPPEARED for me on both the PC and the MAC!
This does appear to be an IE problem though. Just wondering why it just popped up.
Looks like I am going to have to roll out the new template earlier than I had planned. Maybe that will solve the problem. To those of you who are experiencing this situation, I am sorry and hope you stick with me as I try and figure it out.
Again, I ask you to let me know the OS, and browser you use and if you are experiencing this or not.

Well I guess they learned their lesson...realizing all they needed to do is get involved here on The Couch...

Produced by Rick Rubin, Home Before Dark is Neil Diamond’s first number 1 album of his storied 48-year career. Diamond has appeared in Billboard’s top 10 on 13 occasions, most recently with 12 Songs in 2005, which debuted at number 4.
So, just send me the music and let me write about it and you get your first #1 album!
LOL

Well down to the final two...did the producers really want the two David's to face off? Can David A. even hope to beat David C.? I find him annoying and too vanilla.
I did not have a chill moment from any of the performers this year, so maybe I am not in touch with what the public really wants. Or is this whole thing just a popularity contest with talent being secondary?
Are the young girls voting because "gosh he is just so cute and I would give anything to meet him."?

I always enjoyed Timothy B. Schmit when he was in the band Poco. He then joined the Eagles in 1978.
"I Can't Tell You Why" was written by Timothy B. Schmit, Glenn Frey, and Don Henley, and was the first Eagles song to feature Schmit (bass guitar) on lead vocals. Schmit is accompanied by Frey (piano), Henley (drums), Don Felder (electric guitar and guitar solos), and Joe Walsh (organ).
The studio version became a Top 10 hit in April of 1980, reaching #8.

Sorry, I forgot to mention when I commented yesterday that I use Firefox v 2.0.0.14 and the XP Home operating system on my PC.
I will say this about your current template; it has been loading quite quickly in the last few months. Whatever tweaks you made to the sidebars really helped.
Good Morning, my friend!
The Couch looks as comfy as usual in IE6, Firefox, Opera, Safari and Flock.
We´re using a MAC Book Pro, have Bootcamp and Windows XP Professional installed, too.
Leaving a kiss and going back into hiding now =)
Looks grey to me, XP foxfire. Have a great day Vin.
SONGBIRD: Thinking it is an IE thing...
SANNI: Mybe IE on a PC then? hummmm wondering why it i good for some and not good for others...TY
I get the dark blue background as well. I am sending you the bill for my eye exam. Cheers Vinny!!
MATT-MAN: Dang dude...are you sure it is not because you stroke it too much?
I'm using Firefox on the MacBookPro--it looks the same and it still takes way too long to load ;-)
I LOVE that song!!
I am on XP on IE here at work and I see the gray background just fine. On firefox with Vista at home and see it just fine there too.
I sure hope the tweenies are not getting their panties TOO wet over David A cause if he isn't gay I will eat my hat. That binging sound is my gaydar going off. Not that he will ever come out. Mormon boys from Murray Utah generally don't.
It's a total popularity contest. The idea that idol is rigged amuses me cause they have only really produced 2 winners that have made it big. Carrie and Kelly. Unless we count Chris Daughtry and Jennifer Hudson to some degree as well.
Nice choice on the Eagles song =)
My OS is XP. When I use IE 7, I get blue background with black text; however, when I use Firefox, I get the "correct" gray background.
Perhaps it's just a problem with IE 7?
On a separate note, "I Can't Tell You Why" is most likely my all-time favorite Eagles song.
I'm still having that background problem, but you won't get rid of me that easily. I'll be here, eagerly awaiting the new look.
The only explanation I can offer...it's a computer, and it's the internet...#@it happens.
Have a great day.
XP w/ IE7, but I read you in bloglines & just hop on to comment. ;-) I see the gray behind the date and around the couches...THAT'S weird.
I think David A. needs to win so David (the other one rocker-type dude) can go on without the AI contract & 'Daughtry' it. David A is still young and could use the AI guidance. IMHO. ;-)
Your blog looks okay to be, but I'm using Firefox. I guess everyone will just have to stop using IE! :P
I haven't been watching AI this year so I can't really say much about the performances, but, judging by previous years, I would say popularity has as much to do with getting ahead as musical ability. We all remember Sanjaya, don't we? :D
Vinny, I get the grey background with Mozilla Firefox and XP. Has anyone ever told you your post runs into your right sidebar? Actually it's always done that when I visit your site. Does it happen to anyone else?
doris says the gray is showing fine...
smiles, bee
xoxoxoxoxoxoxo
TURNBABY: Not sure why it take you so long to load dear...maybe the new template will load faster
STARRLIGHT: I also got that bing from him...and thanks on the song
RWA: Yup..thinking it is an IE problem so EVERYONE USE FIREFOX! lol
DRILLERAA: gonna try and solve it for you Sir
TUG: I think they are still tied to AI even if they do not win...not sure though
MERI: I agree...KILL IE
yup...popularity fer sure
THE TEACH: That other situation is the resolution of your monitor...I presume you are using 800 x 600 which would cause my posts to run into my sidebar.
BEE: THANKS!
Reading that RWA ranks it as his favorite Eagles song has had me pondering all day on what my favorite Eagles song would be. You should do a poll :P
Top 3 would be Tequila Sunrise for sentimental reasons, The Last Resort cause I think it just nailed what Hotel California was trying to say, and the accoustic 7 Bridges Road which I know is a cover. Man can they harmonies though.
OOO a poll... I can pick 5-7 songs and let all y'all vote on it...Maybe Monday
and I had tried to post 7 Bridges and never got it up...OOO yeah baby
You better hope Matt doesn't read that comment :P
I am using XP and IE. I cannot see the grey background. It is all blue. I'm having the same problem at The Peace Globe Gallery. My sidebar suddenly disappeared. Those using Firefox/mozilla can see it fine. But I can't.
It's driving me crazy.
wow....I just yesterday looked up the lyrics to "I can't tell you" because I heard it..and realized that it is one of my all time favorite songs...damn...it makes me cry! (jeez, I'm misty just hearing it now...)
ok let me pull myself together..as far as your background. It's blue for me as well. I am using XP and IE. I think its gray at work where I use firefox, but for the life of me at this moment, I can't recall! That being said. The blue text is quite impossible to read.
David C rocks. For some reason I want to smack David A..I can't tell you why... ;-)
HUGS!!
OH yeah to 7 bridges.....I'm going to youtube right now!
I have Firefox on Vista dear and have no problems seeing your blog as it should be.
Pick a favorite Eagles' song? Can this even be done? Is it wise? Isn't there a law against such favoritism?
**ponders**
**ponders a little more**
**ponders once more for good measure**
Nope. I don't think I can do it.
STARRLIGHT: huh? wut comment?!
MIMI: Yup it is an IE problem....ugh
LEELEE: Yeah, it is an IE problem...now to get the world to adopt Firefox!
Sorry to make ya misty.... hehehe
The "never got it up" comment. He's probably shipping viagra as we speak.
Laughing at Starr...
TRAVIS: It's OK, we won't ask you to do it...or maybe we will!
STARRLIGHT: Yeah, I knew...I was trying to misdirect him =]
MIMI: Do not encourage her!
LOL
