OH..found out today...my birthday weekend, darlin' Nancy and I are going to the Bluesville Theater inside the Horseshoe Casino in Tunica, MS - about 45 miles from Memphis and the second largest Casino town in America (right after Las Vegas) - we have tickets to see the King Of The Blues, Mr. B.B. King...sixth row center on the aisle...
OH YEAH BABYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
OH YEAH BABYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
I will be doing my first new music review on Monday. Actually listening to the music right now and enjoying it. Not an artist I have listed in my top favs, but someone who I have always enjoyed and respected for their musicianship.
They were on TV recently and also did a cool show in NYC on Wednesday. Want to know who? LOLOLOL
Nah...come back on Monday and find out (though I guess you can take guesses in the comments section).
As I said before, I had problems operating darlin' Nancy's digital camera...weird there are like 1 or two perfect pictures, but most came out like the flash was not working properly - though it was going off...
Wish I could have gotten my Canon A-1 in, but they frown on 'professional cameras' in the fest...
Anyway... below is what I can share...not great, but there is history there, especially with the Pinetop and Hubert pictures.
All Saturday evening, in the order we saw them

The little boy is strumming the guitar.
Hubert Sumlin
Played guitar with Muddy Waters until Muddy's death
This is his version of a great blues classic "Smokestack Lightning"
Pinetop Perkins
Goin strong at 95-years old
This is called "Caledonia" and he sounded this strong on Saturday

Your birthday is on Monday this year so I am assuming you get to see the yummy concert that weekend before--I'll be sitting on the beach with a big fat grin permanently planted on my face.
The music is magic! I really like the Pinetop cut.
Congratulations on scoring tickets to B.B. I know you're going to enjoy that show.
Have a great week-end.

Great shots.
That is fantastic news about B.B. King. I'm sure that will be an amazing show.
It sucks having an unfamiliar camera for times when the photos are really, really important.
Sounds like your birthday will be wonderful - good for Nancy!
Well I for one don't think you're excited. C'mon baby amp it up!!
Tee hee hee!
Oh Caledonia is one of my faves. That was awesome =)

She is doing better, Vinny. Brought her home last night. I have 24 stairs for her to get up so it was slow going.

Kimmie
