OK my dear guests, you are slacking....we are getting our usual 50-70 visits every day, but the comments have slowed down to a dribble....yes, we have our regular commenter, but if you are sitting on The Couch, you need to speak up! Contribute! The Couch is NOT a one-way street...it is a place to hang and chat....
So, if you are reading this, then leave a comment...even if it is just, 'oh be quiet'!
On that note, did you watch the BRUCE videos? Did you notice that even Dad Vince commented on it yesterday?? He was glad we tracked them down and watched them all again... and he LOVES BRUCE...funny, as we get older, we seem to enjoy more of the same things....
Interesting? Scary? hummmm ....bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Matt update: Well he tried numerous times to contact the baseball coach and even put in the papers required only to finally be told this past week 'it is too late'....guy could have been honest..but oh well..he is playing for the club team and has joined the Psychology Club and is doing well with classes and making friends...making plans to go up and visit in a few weeks...
OK, this was a part of a bootleg sent to us years ago.
We are almost positive it is from
A SUMMER JAM
Watkins Glen, NY
July 28, 1973
The Allman Brothers
The Grateful Dead
The Band
The Dead and the Brothers did play together that weekend...they also played together many other times also, so we can not guarantee it was then.
This concert was larger than Woodstock...600,000 strong that day... yes it was one day of f'ing incredible music!
The Grateful Dead performed for five hours, the Allman Brothers for four, and the Band for three, including a thirty-minute break due to a thunderstorm. Well, any good concert has a thunderstorm!!!! HA
There was never a record of the concert though the crews did record the shows. It is said The Dead would not release their tapes. We do have 4 CDs of their show culled from sound board and self-recorded tapes.
Hope you enjoy....

BLOGTALK RADIO UPDATE
Coming up this week on DR. BLOGSTEIN'S RADIO HAPPY HOUR: (Live on Tuesday October 1st at 9PM ET and forever archived at BlogTalkRadio.)
Comedian and radio personality J. Anthony Brown headlines the Radio Happy Hour.
Brown, who’s best known for his role on the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show, will not only leave you in stitches but can create a suit for you with those stitches. The funny man and creator of The J. Anthony Brown Suit Collection will bring a sense of style and some off key singing to this week’s program. He’ll also explain what his catch phrase “watchoutdehnow” means.
Also, we have several guests who may or may not call in. Two rappers and an NFL player are scheduled but not yet 100% confirmed at the time of this posting. We’ll have to wait and see—suspenseful!
All that plus, Dangerous Lee co hosts, Vinny Bond drags his Big Leather Couch into the Radio Happy Hour lounge and chats with the listeners as he act as the SUPREME COMMANDER OF THE CYBERWAVES in the chat lounge and on the air, Justin the Weatherman with his forecast and your calls at 646-652-4804.
Join us live every Tuesday night at 9PM ET. The Radio Happy Hour Lounge--a live chat room during show time--is a whole new reason to make sure you listen live! It’s the show within the show! But if you can't and miss us then, we're ALWAYS ON on our left sidebar!

Oh be quiet.
Just kidding!! LOL!
I just wanted to let you know I was here tonight - I'll check back in tomorrow with some real comments.
Later!
I'm commenting! I'm commenting!
Of course, I HAVE to say GO D-BACKS, even though some Cubbies' fans will probably rip me a new one. The D-Backs are a team that one would not have expected to get to the playoffs, but a fan can dream and remember our days of glory (think 2001 World Series - oops! Sorry, Vinny!)
And, you know, hubby HAS to root for his AL pick, the Wahoos...er, the Tribe.
No, I'll admit I didn't watch the Bruce vids, but I DID see Vince, Sr. made a comment. Things like that don't usually escape me, although these days, there are no guarantees...
The Tribe in FIve! That's all I'm going to say...
Go Cubs, Go!
Woo hoo
I have a good reason for not commenting as much as I should. LOL I had a tiny monitor so when I tried to view your blog, the words looked all squished and if I changed the resolution, I needed a magnifying glass to see the words. So I subscribed to your blog through Bloglines so I could read it, but you can't leave comments there...and then I'd mean to go to your blog later to comment, but then I'd forget...because I have a very short attention span lately.
Anyways, with that all said, I just bought a new 20 inch monitor and I CAN SEE. It is wonderful. So now I have no excuse. :-)
Good tune!! I'm enjoying it immensely as I tell you to, "Oh be quiet!" LOL Particularly as you know I have to speak up for my Red Sox. I just have to! Sorry, my friend!!
;-)
Well now I must say "GO Tribe" also. Now you can come up here and whomp all over me if ya want to!
Bwahahaha!!!
I would like to see some fresh blood in the Series so I am rooting for the Cubs and Indians. Although I am a big fan of Vladimir Guerrero. Cheers!!
Speaking for Philly fans, these times suck.
Speaking for a Bosox Fan, these times are close to great, except the 3pm Sunday game, since Sunday is for football
Go Yankees
Go Yankees
Go Yankees GO!
And I'm turning into my mother...I'd scared to death.
Ha--be quiet you!! Seriously I have not been able to read blogs and comment. Catching up this week. I'll try and listen to you on Doc's show. If the DH isn't playing poker I'll commandeer his laptop.
Awesome posts lately sugar
Smooch
TRAVIS: never worried about you making a comment!
SONGBIRD: D-Backs... yeesh....Wahoos is right....GO watch bruce..he is HAWT
DR. A: Did you say something?
GAIL: Would be fun to beat - I mean meet - you in the WS!
TWYLA: WOOOO on the new monitor....So, I can stop asking "Can you SEE me now?" hehehehee
PEG: See, and I thought I really really liked you! LOL...
JULIE: Will not whomp you, will let the YANKEES whomp your team instead!
MATT-MAN: Go make a drink and sit down....
SPARKY: Your Sux have some darn fine times there....
TUG: Now if that means your mom is a die-hard YANKEE FAN, then be as much like her as possible!
TURNBABY: Well YOU have been quiet....all I hear is basketball talk from you...what? footsballs, nah KY doesn't even have a team, do they?
Its still baseball season?
I just don't know who I want to win the series....sigh....
The curse is over, baby...we're gonna take you in the series!!
DOC B: ummmyeah, just ask Tom Glavine....
KATHERINE: Then root for the Yankees!
GAIL: Onward and upward
Geeez. How am I going to keep track of all the baseball, and all the football, and all the Dancing, and all the blogging? How did I do all this last year anyway?
July 28, 1973...I was 5 days old. I think I might have missed that concert, but it sounded great!
I'm having issues!!
Wireless on.
Wireless off.
Blog working.
Blog broken.
Waaaaaaaaaa.......
Can I have a latte?
"Onward and Upward" in more ways than one, dearie.
HUGS, thank you my friend...
Bond, I know your passion for the Yankees. While I really like the Red Sox, I would absolutely have no problem with a Boston-New York ALCS. I enjoy baseball in October! As for the Dead, I had seen them a few times, although not a committed Deadhead. I never got to Watkins Glen, and really enjoyed your excellent choice of 'That's All Right Mama', Jerry sounds almost jazzy; One of my favorites from that era is 'Eyes of the World', also with a Jazz sound. Excellent post...
Hey Band great tunes I wish I could get my ass home in time to hear the The Happy Hour live I will I swear to god I will!
TRAVIS: You cover the dancing, I will cover the baseball and maybe we can get Sparky to cover the football!
DANA: Are you sure, thought I saw you dancing there....
MIMI: Is that a new song? LOL - here is your latte
GAIL: YOU HAVE THAT RIGHT my friend....
RALPH: Fox and MLB want a Yankee/Sox ALCS also!...One of my favorite songs also...and Dickie Betts sounds great on it also...
ROGER: Check out the archives dude...you work too hard!
