So, The Couch has been a place of smiles and tears, laughter and sorrow for its existence (now at 364 posts and counting).
We have met so many wonderful people along our journey. Many came along from the American idol boards after we left there to write here.
Last week on "The Mo Show", the subject was “Why Do We Blog?” It was a very interesting show, and you can listen to the archives simply by clicking the link on the left-hand sidebar.
As we listened it was difficult for us to answer. If you are a regular, you know we have been in a state recently. The reasons are complicated and can not be discussed in public at this time, but suffice it to say, it can be a hard slap of reality as you start to think that maybe you will never find that true reward you desire.
We listened on the archives and as we did, we felt tears flow down our cheeks. They were a combination of happy and sad tears. First the sad tears were caused by the fact that we didn’t know f we could keep up blogging. It is such a personal experience and when your personal can not be shared, well it tends to dry up the well of enthusiasm you have for a subject.
They were also sad tears because a post we had written would never be published and is now cyber trash
There were sad tears because we felt alone and disappointed we were not listening live and could share with the folks calling in.
There were also tears of happiness as we listened to many callers relating their stories…their desires, their reasons for being here on the Blogosphere. Why the tears? Because these people have become my friends. Listening to their stories was so personal and uplifting.
Yes, it was also nice to hear that THE COUCH has brought bloggers together. Many of the group that came from the AI boards have begun their own blogs. From THE COUCH, they got to meet others and now our little enclave has grown to huge proportions.
So, why is there a COUCH? Well, it was all due to wanted to review the season 5 shows of AI. Then we got booted for allowing our sparks of insanity to live, and found this place called blogger.
We had this built in audience who would come and read, but rarely commented. In the first month of posts we had a total of 15 comments….but we kept writing. We needed an outlet for the things floating in our brain.
Slowly, it all began to take shape and then we began to work on the look and feel of THE COUCH.
Now, we have BLOGTALK RADIO, moving blogging onto the internet. Nothing real new, and actually a tiny step backward from V-log's (video blog) which exploded on the scene a year or so ago.
Our good friend Doc Blogstein was the first to jump in and we have appeared on the show many times. As mentioned above, Morgen has taken his blog onto Blogtalk Radio. Now news that two more of our ever expanding blog-family are going to talk on the medium.
More news on that when they decide to announce their arrivals...
HEY KNUCKLEHEAD...WAKE UP...YOU DID JUST WRITE...WHAT A TURD.
YES, HE DID WRITE...BRAVO....BRAVO...BRAVO...
WHAT DO YA WANT A FREAKING MEDAL??? I'LL GIVE YOU A KNUCKLE SANDWICH MEDAL.
OK, ENOUGH YOU TWO...
Why do we blog? As an outlet, to share and to learn...
What do we get from blogging? FRIENDS!
If we missed your picture, it means we could not find one or just now forgot! One or two people might even be in there twice...but we are too tired to fix it...
See you on Doc Blogstein's Radio Happy Hour tonight at 9:00pm EDT...

You, sir, are a gem. A wonderful friend who I simply adore.
Wonderful post :-)
You take as long as you need-we're not movin'.
Sorry Bond, you're stuck with us.
Feel better-having heavy boots stinks.
Ohh exciting! But that is another thing that sucks about west coastness is that I am not home when y'all are one and I can only listen on archives :P
When do you start on Blog Talk?
Vinny, I don't know what more I can say. My shoulders and my ears are available, and you know how to reach me if you need me.
Sending hugs your way.
108: KYRA, thank you for the kind words...
MAGS: I appreciate that my friend...yes heavy boots do suck
STARR: No, I had thought about it, but with everyone jumping in, we decided to step back...We are not one of the two we mentioned...
SONGBIRD: Thanks for your thoughts and hugs...
That´s a lovely tribute to The Couch and us, your friends...
My friend... that´s what you are!
If there´s anything I can do for you, please let me know.
Why not having a music related BT radio show... maybe this could help to distract a bit???
If you aren´t one of the two you´ve mentioned above... 3 new shows are more than welcome, especially if one is "Bond´s Big Tube Radio"
xoXOxo
SANNI: Glad you enjoyed, and you are also a friend...a wonderful friend...
I think the train left the station at this point on the radio show..so many people with them now...
Whatever the situation that hurt your spirit, I hope it gets blown away hard by the four winds (I think that's an old saying from somewhere).
Here, let's all sit on the Couch and have a warm cuddle fest. Hugs to you!
Its great to have you back in business. Talk to you tonight!
I hope you're feeling better and back to your good spirits soon. We'll all be here when you need us.
Nice Job Vinny. I hate it when you post something that prevents me from being a smartass. Cheers!!

DOC: Hope I remember!
AISBY: Thanks again for stopping by ad your kind words...
MATT-MAN: I hate when i do that too
BEE: Have not been hungry, so I forgot the cake
Wonderful heartwarming post, Vinny. Many faces that I hadn't seen till you took the time and the effort to post for us. Thanks!
I echo the sentiments of the others....welcome back! Show us your stuff my dear!....ummm in a literary sense! Sheesh....what were you thinking?
Keep writing, you have been missed.
And I for one can say.. it's all your fault I started... AND you created the video monster!
The blogosphere is richer when you're in it.
Hugs
a great post as always. You hit on why I think alot of us blog, even if its ripped from the archives of the Mo show.
you could always go underground so the words dont stay trapped.
JULIE: Thanks - glad you enjoyed it.
ANNDI: I apologized to the blog world already for letting you loose on them...the bloggosphere is here to stay, one less person or not....
Thank you
SPARKY: Thanks my friend...already considered going underground with another blog...it was begun about a week or so ago...has almost 100 posts! I just post whenever I feel the need to shout ... I have been shouting a lot. LOL
Wish I could make it better for you. You're hanging on though - for which I'm very grateful. This was a lovely post and the photo thing was a great touch x
heartfelt.
TOPCHAMP: All is well..thanks for your kind thoughts
KATHERINE: THANK YOU
GIANT HUGS my friend. I know the pain of not being able to share something personal. It's hard, and I too have shed many a tear for this particular form of censorship.
Now, that being said, I am with Anndi on this one - you are the one responsible for half the original SP blogging, and we thank you for it.
JUST TRY AND GET RID OF US - ain't gonna happen.....
*ties herself to the couch* See?
SMOOCHES.
ANGELL: Ty for the nice words...but I really did nothing. I began blogging. People decided to write... not my doing...smooch
I adore you - heart and soul, adore you.
You are my inspiration for blogging and I would not be the same if it were not for this medium. So, thank you.
Excellent post my friend. I hope the funk is short-lived. But I'll wait through a long funk too.
((hugs)) to you...hang in there; we'll be here!!
What a tribute to your friendships and entourage of support. I'm only gonna say this one time..
