Friday Freedom

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Friday, April 20, 2007

This came to me in an email from Dad...
Thought we would share it here...

We know it has been around the Internet
But the sentiment can not be spread enough.

Hope you enjoy - and think about it...
And send your friends over to read...

This is a ribbon for soldiers fighting in Iraq . Pass it on to everyone and pray.

SLEEP LAST NIGHT?
Bed a little lumpy...?
Toss and turn any...?
Wish the heat was higher...?
Maybe the a/c wasn't on...?
Had to go to the john...?
Need a drink of water...?
???

Yes... It is like that!

Count your blessings, pray for them,
Talk to your Creator

And the next time when ...
  • The other car cuts you off and you must hit the brakes
  • You have to park a little further from Walmart than you want to be
  • You're served slightly warm food at the restaurant
  • You're sitting and cursing the traffic in front of you
  • The shower runs out of hot water,
Think of them...
Protecting your freedom!

The proud warriors of Baker Company wanted to do something to pay tribute to our fallen comrades.

So since we are part of the only Marine Infantry Battalion left in Iraq the one way that we could think of doing that
is by taking a picture of Baker Company saying the way we feel.

It would be awesome if you could find a way to share this with our fellow countrymen.

I
was wondering if there was any way to get this into your papers to let the world know that:

"WE HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN"

and are proud to serve our country.

Now, we want all of our men and women home A.S.A.P.

We think we should be done with Iraq, and let them deal with their country and stop putting our childen, husbands, brothers, sons, wives, sisters, daughters in harms way...

BUT we will never stop supporting those who are out there doing their jobs.

Marines,
Army,
Navy,
Air Force,
National Guard,
Coast Guard...

WE SALUTE YOU ALL

Have a safe, happy weekend...

  2. Wonderful post, Vinny. They deserve our support even if we don't agree with our involvement "over there".

Heads up on a new blog, hon. There was such positive feedback from the postings of my students a few weeks ago that we have created blogs to collect and display their writings. Hope you, and maybe some of your readers, will check it out and leave comments for the kids. English class will be posting regularly on Fridays, and Music blogs on Mondays.

Thanks hon, and have a great weekend.

  16. I remember the first time I saw those pictures, I thought "I'll never complain again". These are the types of images that should be shown on the news, so that we all know what a sacrifice these soldiers make. Very powerful post.
Oh, and about your comments getting lost...mine did too. I commented on a bunch of different blogs yesterday and now I don't see them. Blogger must be on the blink again.
