THE COUCH
is thankful for...
1. My son Matt - he has grown into an incredible young man. He has compassion, humor, love, intelligence, athletisism beyond belief.
2. Allyson - without whom Matt would not be here today, and much of what he is today is due to her.
3. Mom and Dad - They did an incredible job raising the three kids and showed us unlimited love, and though we might not have always learned, tried to show us the right way to be in this world of ours.
4. My brother Richard - We were not so close as kids (maybe ebcause we had to share a room!), but we have connected in our later years. He is intelligent, funny and full of love.
5. My sister Lynn - THE COUCH was not the best of brothers when we were young, but Lynn has shown strength of character as she has matured and people can look at her and learn how to act.
6. My SIL's Cindy, Linda & Sue and BIL's Kevin, Bill & George - Cindy & Kevin have made my brother and sister happy and Bill and wife Sue & George and wife Linda welcomed me into their family when I met Allyson
7. My neices Jennifer, Kimberly, Amelia, Candice, Adele, Emily, and nephews Chris, Joseph, Billy, Christian & Joseph - their parents have done a great job raising them and I wish them all spectacular lives.
8. My relatives - every single one of them including my two two aunts PattyAnn & Adele and cousins Denise and Joyce. Cousin Sal I believe you were the one with your hand on Matt's shoulder when he had his accident - thank you.
9. Tau Kappa Epsilon - The fraternity I joined at RIT. This is where I made my friends for life. These guys would stop what they were doing and come if I called and I would do the same for them. I wish I could list them all... but Andy, Dean, George, John, Shebs, Rookie, Murdoch, Pete, Jay, Tim, Ed, Tom, Greg, Bob...these are the major players...
and we all miss you Wade...very much.
10. The friends I have made throughout my life - In HS - Debbie, Rich and Bob, and after school, Joy, Peter, Tony, Joe, Jeff, Steve, Andy, Maria , Gil and so many more...you have all affected my life in some way.
11 The friends from the Soul Patrol - 10 months ago, I did not know any of you existed. Then we found each other slowly through a TV program that some of us had never watched before...all because of a gray haired soul singer. If I start to name names I am going to forget someone and then I will catch all sorts of heck...many of you are listed along the sidebar for your blogs... some don't have blogs, but we laugh and play on the FBB web site...
YOU know who you are...that is all that matters!
12. My health - for a 52 year old I am not doing too badly...OK, my bloodpressure could be lower, as could my cholesterol..and I could do without the acid reflux, but all of those are regulated. We will not talk about the 15 pounds that could be shed...
13. THE COUCH - and all it has brought me. It has given me a chance to express myself as I have never been able to before. It has introduced me to other bloggers from all walks of life who tell me about their loves and fears, their wants and desires...It all began as a joke over on the AI boards, but when I decided to start over here, there was never a doubt that it would be
SO much to be thankful for this day... THE COUCH wishes each of you safety and joyous times...

Super list. :) A lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!
Seems appropriate that we list all the things/relationships/peopl inour lives we are grateful for since it's that time of theyear... but I think 13 is too little if we really sit down to count...
Happy Thanksgiving & Happy Thursday
Great list of things to be thankful for. Sounds like you have a great family, and some wonderful friends. :)
Although I celebrated Thanksgiving last month (Canadian Thanksgiving is in October), a Happy Thanksgiving to you. :)
May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious
and your pies take the prize,
and may your Thanksgiving dinner
stay off your thighs!

And one of my favorites (oh, if only I could always live by these words!):
As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them. ~John Fitzgerald Kennedy

By the way, for your cholesterol, blood pressure and acid reflux, I have three words: apple cider vinegar! The pure stuff (make sure it says pure on the bottle)! My dad swears by it. You should try it. If you wanna learn more about this home remedy, just google it. Hugs!
