Did You Know????

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Friday, January 23, 2009

I received this in an email from my good friend SueAnn the other day and thought that it was something I had to share with all y'all...

From the description on the youtube.com page...
3.0 for 2008 - Newly Revised Edition Created by Karl Fisch, and modified by Scott McLeod; Globalization & The Information Age.

It was even adapted by Sony BMG at an executive meeting they held in Rome this year. Credits are also given to Scott McLeod & Jeff Brenman

So, I guess the question needs to be asked....

DID YOU KNOW?????

From our continuing digitization of the Warner Chappell Collection...

"Devil Woman" is song by Terry Britten and Christine Holmes and a 1976 hit single recorded by Cliff Richard for his album I'm Nearly Famous. It reached #9 on the UK Singles Chart in June 1976 and #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is his third biggest-selling single (and his biggest hit in the USA) with over two million copies sold worldwide.

Have a great weekend...

ENJOY.......

20 Of Your Sparks

  1. Anndi Says:
  2. I have a 10 year old science freak in my house... I may not have known the numbers but ... yeah, I knew. (Plus, Sueann sent it to me too! Naninanibooboo Bwahahahahaha)

    So...

    what does it mean?

Are we too preoccupied with our differences and borders? Maybe.

Oh.. and that song needs to be WAY raunchier than that.

  3. DrillerAA Says:
  4. Sometimes I think we spend a little too much effort trying to devalue ourselves by asking too many questions that may not be entirely relevant. While the Youtube presentation is certainly thought provoking, I'm not sure that it has much relevance.
Our daughter was born in June of '76, but she was never what you would consider a Devil Woman. Thanks for sharing a golden oldie with us.
    Have a wonderful week-end.

  5. Liz Hill Says:
  6. I love that song--I think I'll raunch it up tonight at karaoke!

  7. Schmoop Says:
  8. I don't care what this video says, no computer will ever surpass the incredible logic, wisdom, and computation skills of my massive brain. No, seriously. Cheers!!

  9. Jay Says:
  10. Am I the only one who can never get these audio players to work for me? What's the deal?

  11. ...I prefer Angel Women...

  12. Anonymous Says:
  13. Thanks for the shout-out, dear friend! Hope that you are doing well.

    Hugs!
    Sueann

  14. Bud Fisher Says:
  15. That video was facinating. Mind blowing, actually. Love the Devil Woman song myself. Have a great weekend...

  16. ANNDI: I saw your name on the email...I did not get that from the video at all...my take was technology is exploding and we all have to be ready...I do not think it had anything to do with borders and differences
    The song is from 1976....

DRILLERAA: I think it is more a warning of, keep up or be left behind...the most telling fact was that freshman in college are learning things that will be useless by the time they are juniors.
    Love that song

    TURNBABY: Do it girl!

MATT-MAN: And that folks is the answer...

JAY: Wish I could tell you my friend...sometimes the buffer takes a minute or so...

PHFRANKIE: LOL...I like the devil woman myself

SUEANN: Thanks for the video...and you be well also

BUD: I thought so also...yup..Cliff had a hit.

  17. Coco Says:
  18. It's a good thing my 5 year old is a computer whiz kid, cos Mommy definitely is NOT! My techie friend let B-man install the new hard drive in my laptop, btw, and it works perfectly. (I know, I know, but he's 5!) Now he shows all his friends the computer that he "built" ... LOL

I loved Cliff Richard back in the 80's. This is a great tune. He also recorded a couple of great duets with Sarah Brightman (Phantom of the Opera) and Olivia Newton-John (Xanadu). Thanks for reviving a wonderful memory! (and no! I'm not telling. :P)

  19. Anndi Says:
  20. Some of the numbers were not about technology. They were about the world, China and India. I was looking beyond the content. Did we really need that video to tell us the speed at which technology is evolving? I doubt it.

One of the things the video tells me is that with the leaps and bounds, the increasing information out there, the ease of connection between people on opposite sides of a planet, it might assist in ushering an era where we are more open to each other. Technology as a tool of "rapprochement" versus what people said in the beginning, that it would dehumanize us.

President Obama and his team seem to have great hopes for using technology to keep America wired in and connected to their government, should they chose to be.
Dude, he has a Crackberry!!! AND he's on Facebook!!!

  21. Anndi Says:
  22. Oh... and you are not telling me the 70s weren't raunchy, are you?

    Led Zeppelin, man... ;p

  23. COCO: LOL...Matt hated that i knew more about computers than he did! It is great that B is a wiz and tell him I said so.
Cliff has always been a fav of mine..now dish girl

ANNDI: I totally agree that with the technology our world is now smaller (and getting even smaller)...Is President Obama's crackberry in your speed-dial yet?
No, I was not saying it was not raunchy...but not everything has to be...does it?

  24. Anndi Says:
  25. Not yet, however he is my Facebook friend :)

No, not everything. But a song about a Devil Woman? I'm glad Turnbaby is going to raunch it up.

  26. Julie Says:
  27. Wow....that video give a lot to think about doesn't it? Thanks for sharing.

  28. Dana Says:
  29. Finally got to the video and must ask, "What's the point?"

Random bits of statistical data with ridiculous "facts" extrapalated from them.

Outdated information isn't necessarily bad, it gives historical perspective.

And just what are we supposed to teach/learn? Data that isn't yet available?

    I don't know ... I just thought it was sensationalized ...

  30. Tug Says:
  31. Amazing at the speed that things are evolving, isn't it? Kinda just makes you want to shut the world off for a minute and RELAX... it's what my Saturday's all about. ;-) Have a great weekend Vinny!

  32. Jeff B Says:
  33. Does this mean my collection of 8-tracks is now worthless?

  34. Fred Says:
  35. I'm not too sure which post to comment on since I've been gone for awhile. But, it was good to catch up a little...hope all is well.

I did catch the cholesterol mention...mine is still out of control even on meds. Not too sure what they're going to give me next.

  36. katherine. Says:
  37. I knew some of it.

when I was about six I stood in a HUGE room at IBM with my dad looking at their state of the art mainframe system. My little laptop out preforms the behemoth hands down.

what the video doesn't address is the technology already created which is not for public consumption....that is the real stuff.
