Lights...Camera...Music Tomorrow...

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Monday, December 08, 2008

Was planning on reviewing and giving away two CDs of Christmas music I have received, but this weekend got away from me.

Saturday, I designed my Christmas card and had to put together some 'bumpers" for the Radio Happy Hour - and then off with Nancy and the boys to find a Christmas tree.

Then Sunday, I began printing the cards (they are going out this week) and then watch my NY Giants. Unfortunately the Giants lost, but with the Dallas loss, my Giants clinched the Eastern Conference Championship!

Then it was on to hanging lights at Nancy's. That took a loooong time, as she has two high peaks and if you know me, you know that heights and I do not get along. But up the ladder I went...

Well, got it done, but by then it was dark. I then realized that something had to be done with the two main windows in the front of the home and I began working on them.

Well, one of the strands of lights I had were dead as anything, so I need to get another set to finish.

We never even got the tree decorated, so that will be the assignment for this evening.

I really was delighted that I could decorate a home again...it has been two years since I have done so.

By the time I got home, it was after 9 and I am exhausted. The combination of climbing the ladder and the cold and the long day...well I need some rest.

Anyway...come back tomorrow for the reviews, and for a chance to be awarded one of the two albums. They are both top notch...believe me!

So, what does the home look like?

let me show you...

First before I added the window lights
That high peak? Nope...Not me...nope
Plus the ladder will not go up that high:

A close-up of the front door.
The window on the right is where the tree will be:

Then after the one window was completed.
The window on the right side of the house (that is in darkness)
will be done tomorrow...

The two windows on the far left are the garage...might have to do them also...

  2. Thoughts of hanging lights on the house makes me cringe. I was always told that they were never straight enough or never whatever enough. But nice job, Vin. Cheers!!

  3. TopChamp Says:
  4. It's so pretty! I wanted my tree this weekend but as the car died we can't get it home. Hopefully tonight'll be the night. I love Christmas!

  5. Dana Says:
  6. It's BEAUTIFUL!!

  7. Nicely done, Vinny. Hubby told me this year that he was absolutely NOT getting on a ladder this year. Soooooo, where are the lights? On the bushes.

Still looks good, though, so I'm not complaining.

  8. DrillerAA Says:
  9. The lights look great. And I completely agree about the steep pitch roof and tall ladders, not for me. You may have noticed that all of my Christmas lights are a ground level.

  10. OBLadyBug Says:
  11. What a weekend! The lights look awesome and the tree is falling out beautifully … both boys were so excited when they came home from their dads and saw the front of the house.

Thank you for being a part of our lives … and making this Christmas special. Hope you aren’t too sore this morning. Love you.

  13. My dad is quite happy this year that he and my mom are not at home for the holiday so he doesn't have to do all the outdoor decorating. I was worried for my mom because she loves to decorate the house, but I shouldn't have worried.

She's got the motor home all decked out with a smaller version of her holiday stuff. Plus she's happy to be somewhere warm for the holiday!

And according to her latest email, they are already on 3 guest lists for parties!

  14. Mimi Lenox Says:
  15. Beautiful! Good job on the decorations.
I will not be climbing up on Bloggingham's dormers to hang lights. I could break a nail (and my entire self).

Maybe Homer will do it for me.....

  18. Pretty! My dad is coming out to bring out my tree next Saturday and put up the outdoor lights. Kidlet and I will decorate Monday night. I am still not quite feeling the Yulevibe.

HEH...that sounds like a holiday sex toy!

Anyhow I am home today with a godawful migraine. Kidlet and I are both trying to recover from the looong weekend. December is such a stressful month.
