Week #15 - Week 3 for Roger's Creative Photography Contest...click on the banner above if you want to learn more and enter or just feel like sliding around the Bloggosphere and checking out some really fantastic photos...
Ralph over at AIRHEAD 55 has also been scanning recently and he has come up with some incredible family memories...Picking through my photos as I scan them from slides and prints I am also finding some incredible memories...
This is from the mid-80's..I have used this here on The Couch before, but never for Roger's Contest, so I thought I would give it a spin...
Taken with my 200mm zoom, I was about 100 feet from this gentleman. He is a 'man of the streets' and the thing that caught my eye was his eyes... straight from the camera, no enhancements...
Hope you enjoy...

It was not easy picking the winners of this weeks NEW MUSIC MONDAY CD winners...
I am trying to spread the wealth and will continue to do so...That said...I had three newbies all interested in Ms. Richey...so I wrote down the names and put them in a cup and had a co-worker select the name of the winner and it is...Mr. Jeff of "A Word In Edgewise" send me your snail mail and Kelly Richey is on the way to you Sir.
For the Ryan Calhoun CD, we had three previous winners all express interest. Well, our puppy friend Meri did also but she does not share snail mail info, so she was eliminated...again, I wrote the three names down and had the co-worker select the name...the winner is...Bud of WTIT Tape Radio. The CD will be on the way Sir.
Congrats to both. We have a stack of CDs we are listening to and will be featuring two (maybe even three) next Monday.

When I went to Vegas, I sat next to a gentleman who is a pilot for NWA...we struck up a conversation and it turned to music - SHOCK - and it turned out he is a collector of live bootlegs also. On the way to me is a bunch of Allman Brothers shows, and I am psyched! I also just put in my order for the show Nancy and I saw in Tunica and will share some of that when it arrives...
Let's leave with some of my favorite music...this is Mr. Clarence Carter, from the DUANE ALLMAN ANTHOLOGY VOL. 1 collection..."Road Of Love"

I think there is some irony in the picture. Although he may be a "man of the streets", I don't see any sadness, dismay, or struggle in his eyes. Nice shot, Vin. Cheers!!
Great photo, Vinny. I agree with Matt-Man, this guy doesn't look sad. He looks content somehow, despite his lot in life.
good luck in Roger's contest ~
i love the photo! it looks like it should be a cover on a magazine like "life"...
smiles, bee

I knew that video of Saddam being hanged was a fake! And now you've exposed it with a pic of him on the streets. Good job! ;-)
What a beautiful photo! He does have a look of satisfaction about him. It's amazing what you can see in a photo.
Yep, still love that photo...
I've seen this before and loved it.
I see a boy, I see a young man, I see him in a suit, I see him laughing with a child, I see him loving, I see satisfaction, I see pain, I see some of who I might be in this man.
Thank You
Tsk Tsk, you shouldn't be buying things this close to Christmas - it makes Santa VERY UPSET.
I see introspection in his eyes. A wonderful portrait.
I got my CD, Vinny =) Looking forward to doing the review!
Hay, I can't believe it's been so long since I've commented!
Your picture has raw soul.
Great collaborating with you last night at Dr. B's!
Wow! I am SO PSYCHED! Thanks man. And thank the knucklehead that drew my name!
Excellent shot, Vinny, of "a man of the streets!" I'd like to see more of your photos... Glad you liked the fire alarm box! :)
The story behind those eyes in the picture must be something else. Great shot!
I always learn so much musically when I come here.
Great picture ... and well done with the fellow passenger and the new bootlegs headed your way.
This is an amazing and reflective image! I like it a lot.
Oh that's great photo Vin! And I think its cool that you and Ralph are doing that, as much as I like the photos I enjoy the story's behind them to.

Late in checking in.
Cool I'm a wiener. . . I mean winner.
Looking forward to hearing more of her stuff.
I remember this picture from before. At the time I thought about writing a story from it. I may have to do that yet. Or, If you are OK with it, I could use it for my monthly Portrait of Words challenge. With credit to you of course. Only if it's OK though. No is perfectly acceptable if you prefer.
What a beard. It actually looks great on this gentleman. I, on the other hand, don't look right with my stubble, so no stylish beard for me. You just know what makes a great picture only when you actually see it. So fire away, your next best picture may be the next one...
Vinny! That is a FABULOUS photo!! It's not easy to capture that much feeling and emotion in two dimensions!
I saw this photo before too, and it still says a lot, doesn't it? Interesting beard on him as well. :)
At first I thought I was looking at an actor from "Fiddler on the Roof" but that was probably just the beard that made me think that.
Amazing picture and you're right about the eyes - very expressive!
