Tuesday Tidbits...

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Tuesday, February 09, 2010 12 Of Your Sparks

Congrats to the New Orleans Saints and their win on Sunday. It was a great game with a lot of back and forth until a dropped pass and then an interception to seal the fate of the Indianapolis Colts.

Peyton Manning is one heck of a QB and I figure he and Drew Brees might just meet up in the big one again within the next few years.

The commercials really have lost many of their luster, They are not a part of the event for me any longer...they are just what they are commercials.

The theme this year seemed to be that you can rag on men all you want. It felt like half the commercials made men to be idjits.

Woke up Monday morning with almost 6" of snow on the ground. It was not expected at all and began at 4:00am and was over by 7:00am. Roads were pretty bad so I stayed home and worked from here.

Began to rain in the afternoon and as I write this it seems that it will rain until the temps drop and then we will get more ice and snow, so might be working from here tomorrow also.

This is the first winter where it is like winter since I moved down here. I can do without it to be honest. I also realized I do not own a snow shovel so clearing the driveway was impossible. Have to make a note to buy one of those - and then it will not snow ever again!

I hope it went well last evening on MUSIC ON THE COUCH and to those of you who listened live and spent time in the chat room - I thank you greatly. As I am putting this post together 4 hours before show time, I am guessing it went well! LOL

Minutia Monday...

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Monday, January 11, 2010 10 Of Your Sparks

Today - a new post:
Part 3 "Saturday In The Kitchen" -
Ground Beef & Macaroni Medley
and Stuffed Flank Steak

Come Take A Seat At My Table

This coming Sunday, Jack Bauer returns to our televisions with another season of 24! Looking forward to it with great anticipation. The show shifts to New York City, so that should be fun.

Before the season begins, let's see what Jack has been up to over the last month or so...

So I am back in Dallas on press printing some collateral material. In the past, I have not had to do these press runs, but the CMO has asked I get involved with all of his print now...

Long story, but an honor in the end, so here I am!

Not sure I will be available for the Radio happy Hour tomorrow, but if I have a window of opportunity, I will be calling in from the road.

Been booking guests for Music On The Couch and am beginning to focus on Memphis area guests as well as national artists. I like the idea of featuring artists from the Memphis area and am working on one specific guest that will amaze all y'all.

The cold that has gripped the entire country seems to be pulling back up north. Today - Sunday as I write this - we will even get a tad above freezing for the first time in a week and today - Monday as you read this - it is supposed to be in the mid 40's and mid 50's in Dallas where I am (will be? - LOL)

A shout-out to Mom Joan, who took a spill this past weekend as she was watching her grandson Joe at his swim meet at the University of Scranton. Feel better mom!

Love you!

Spent Saturday with Nancy and I cooking two big pots of gravy and meatballs and sausage in preparation to make Lasagna to be served at her mom's 85th birthday party in two weeks.

Love having all the help in the kitchen and we are a well-oiled macheine when we get going!

Monday Musings...

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Monday, May 04, 2009 24 Of Your Sparks

This Week:
Pork Tenderloin with Jalapeno Cream Sauce
Sauteed Haricot Verts
Texas Dirty Rice

Come take a seat at the table

Friday blogger blocked me from leaving comments when I got home from work and then this weekend has been one of rain, thunder, lightening and simply closing up in the apartment with my Nancy.

Did not make it to the Music Fest this year. The weather was not for me. I guess 2 of 3 is not so bad.

I will be here next Monday with a Tuneage Tutelage - New Music Monday. I just received a few new CDs and want to review and send out some questions for the artists to answer.

I am also off to new Hampshire Wednesday morning until Friday morning. Then we are off to Florence, AL for a baseball tournament with Peter.

Busy week.

Tiger Woods Golf has grabbed a hold of me. I knew it was a possibility..and it came to pass. Hey DRILLERAA of "Brain Freeze" get that game loaded and practice. Then we can go online and play each other!

The forecast is for rain all week...welcome to springtime in Memphis!

Had some really sad news this weekend. My best friend "A" is suffering from Retinitis Pigmentosa, a crappy disease that has caused "A" to have no peripheral vision.

Recently, "A" received a puppy from some friends and has been working with her. She was the perfect dog for him, perfectly trained.

This last week "A's" mom was in the hospital in Florida and "A" had flown down with his puppy.

The other day while walking, the puppy spooked and jumped off the lease and as she stepped into the street, a car came by. The puppy had to be put to sleep and my best buddy has been suffering sadness since.

He does have a friend who works for the Guide Dogs For The Blind, and "A" has been put on a list for one of the dogs who is rejected from the program. In addition, he has put his name in for a Guide Dog when one becomes available.

This is a huge step for my friend who has had to come to the realization that without a Guide Dog, he is limited as to what he can do.

As he said to me "I could not even come back to Memphis on my own. Going through airports is nearly impossible."

When "A" was here a couple of summers ago, I had to watch out for him when we were on Beale Street. When he bumped into a large gentleman at B.B. King's, the guy - who had quite a few cocktails - was not totally happy, and I had to explain to him.

My fingers are crossed that A" gets a puppy soon to keep him company and a Guide Dog in the near future to give him back some of his freedom.

This certainly fits the weather here in Memphis...

Thursday Tidbits

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Thursday, August 23, 2007 22 Of Your Sparks

Weather weather everywhere....Some horrible flooding in the Midwest.

Flooding in Ohio and Wisconsin displacing families...

Extreme heat in the South and Midsouth...we are sitting at 100-105 here in Memphis...

Tornadoes in NJ last week...

What the hell is happening?

We hope all in the Midwest are safe and it is only property damage...because property can be replaced...

So, the big DUB is now using Vietnam as an excuse for his continued insistence we stay in Iraq...

Ummm, we thinks that history has shown that our involvement in Vietnam did little to change anything in that part of the world, so maybe he needs to rethink his stance....will be interesting to see the Mid-September report to Congress due by September 15 from U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker and the top U.S. commander in Iraq, Gen. David Petraeus.

The big spin begins now as he tried to build some support in the face of growing discontent from the American public.

Gotta tell you, we would be really unhappy if we were a Republican candidate as this is going to weigh heavily on any of their campaigns...

Go on..tell us you agree or tell us you don't...this is how we feel...

TIME TO GET THE HELL OUT!

So, did you see the 30 runs put up by the Texas Rangers yesterday against Baltimore in the first game of a Doubleheader? Most runs scored in a game by one team since 1990!

How would you like to be an Oriole, get your a** kicked in a game and then have to turn around and go back and play another?

OH Brother!

Bill Murray got lost on the way to the 7th tee in Stockholm and was pulled over on the city street while driving a golf cart. The cops smelled alcohol, Murray refused a breathalyser test, the cops took blood and Murray admitted to drinking and told the officer that he could plead guilty for him when/if it comes to trial....

Ah Bill...you crazy wildman you....

But Murray was cited as saying that he had asked a guy named Matt-Man where the next tee was and that is how he got lost...One wonders.....

We just heard this news and it is ripping our TV viewing heart out. Janeane Garofalo is joining the cast of "24" next season.
PLEASE give me a break....argggggggggggggggggggg

We are off to Atlanta today on business...will be there until Monday...gotta just hate these weekend business trips...

Some people get to go away for the weekend to visit a friend...others get to go work....we are the later of those two...

So, if there is no post tomorrow, you will know why. We get in to town and right to the plant and have no idea when tomorrow night will end....

A pale-blue dress worn by Princess Diana to the 1987 Cannes Film Festival failed to attract bids in an Internet auction for charity on Wednesday, just days ahead of the 10th anniversary of her death.

Now there is another blue dress out there that we just bet would attract some bids....hehehe

A tidbit to whet the appetite for the next TUNEAGE TUTELAGE
which we will unveil next week.
