Y'all know this is close to my heart. Being a donor. If you are relitively new here, I have written about this incredibly important life-giving gesture HERE, HERE, and especially HERE. I apologize that some of the words might be tough to read. One of the problems of changing a template on the same blog (and using colored type in your posts).
So, now is the time to become a bone marrow donor. No charge to register, they send you the swab kit in the mail...you follow the directions (just like they do on C.S.I.), and mail it back and you are in the registry.
Maybe that call will come one day and you go and have your marrow removed and transplanted into some person whose family is praying for their survival.
OK, some discomfort, but I have been told, nothing like the wife's tales you hear.
All you need to do is click on the graphic to get to the rest of the RUBY TUESDAY posts...
These are both taken this past weekend with Nancy's Point and Click. The Hummingbird Feeder is attached to the bay window in the kitchen.
The first visitor to show was not the device's intended patron. But who is going to argue with him? Both go biggie by clickie...
Then, after a while, we caught the real patron of this device hovering around and snapped off this shot. If I had taken the time to move to a sports setting, I might have gotten wings frozen in flight.

I dig hummingbirds. We have a fairly healthy population 'round here. Cheers!!
...killer shots of the aviary fauna...
My mother has a flock of hummingbirds including the most beautiful red one. I love to watch them =)
Gretchen deserves an award for trying as hard as she did with that nutjob. Truly the low end of child actor burnout.
MATT-MAN: Huge population here also
PHFRANKIE: Thanks dude
Great pic of the hummingbird dude. Very nice.
I would get my name on that registry, but it's already on several government registries (mostly with Homeland Security) and I don't know what the federal limit on things like that are. ;-)
STARR: They are so cool to watch. What would the award be?
JAY: Thanks dude...no, I checked, you are OK- this is a different registry
great shots of the bird feeder...interesting line up for the show...
with the six lenses...did you get a tripod? The Teamster just got one and it is a really great addition. You could set it up at the window.
KATHERINE: Thanks...Actually TWO tripods..a normal one and a table top model. And they will join the other three tripods I already own!
That is a fine question. I'd say a gold plated Disco Bisquit would be both memorable and appropriate. And I bet she could use something to deal with years of stress!
Danny had a morning radio show here in NY for a bit and I used to call him early in the morn, gretchen would be there or on the phone - this was during one of his stable periods and he was sweet, fun, thoughtful
I can't deal with him anymore - he's so mean spirited lately, I think he's been on one Fox show too many
Kudos for spreading the donor info!!
love your photos
Love the Ruby Tuesday post, Vinny! But thanks for putting me onto "RunPee.com" My husband will be forever grateful! :)
STARR: LOL yup that works
DIANNE: I do remember when he was on the air there. I am huge into marrow donation.
Thanks'
MARY: We are here to educate...LOL
You cannot know how pleased I was to see your smiling face in my comment box.
I love hummingbirds! I have yet to find a feeder though that doesn't drip, and that causes ants. I don't love ants. ;-(
I had no idea you were a bone marrow donor. Well done.
We still get our hummers here at dusk. They love the red pentas and hibiscus flowers.
We have hummingbirds from time to time, so I got a couple of feeders about two weeks ago and started putting nectar in them. So far not much in the way of new visitors, but they say it takes a bit of time for them to discover them. Nice shot.
Would it be wrong for me to confess that I'd *do* Gretchen Bonaduce?
Nice Ruby Tuesday shots. Somehow, being able to stop the hummingbirds wings would seem to be just wrong. I like the shot just the way it is.
Regrettably I've already been rejected as a marrow donor. But I do have an organ donor card in my wallet, so if there is something they can use they are more than welcome to it.
I want to go to Woodstock!!!
Is it too late?
