SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE is almost here...LOL

TPTB over at Idol are doing all they can to give us a Gokey/Lambert finale. The judges make comments to sway the voting public and dang if they did not do so last week.
Allison was MUCH better than Chris and a bit better than Danny, yet she was the one dissed by the judges and she went home.

This has been one of the better seasons for the show 24. The writers continue to give us some unrealistic time frames however and it will be interesting to see how they bend the plot line to find an antidote for Jack's exposure to the nerve agent.
Yeah, yeah...there are times it is just so off-center, but it is still the best 60 minutes on TV IMHO.

Well right behind it is the show LOST. The writers have worked overtime to stitch together some of the plot lines and answer some of the more intriguing mysteries.
I am looking forward to how they will leave us hanging this season.

Cool news for Sons Of Anarchy fans...Grammy® Award-winning musician and actor Henry Rollins will guest star in six episodes when the show returns this fall. Rollins will play a new antagonist in the show’s fictional town of Charming, California who poses a deadly threat to the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club.
Henry Rollins first came into the public consciousness as lead singer of the seminal Los Angeles band Black Flag. He later founded the Rollins Band, receiving a 1994 Grammy nomination for the song “Liar.” That same year he won a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word or Non-musical Album for Get in the Van. He was host of the Independent Film Channel’s The Henry Rollins Show and the radio show “Harmony in my Head” on Indie 103 FM in Los Angeles. He currently hosts his own music-mix radio show on KCRW-FM.

Radio Happy Hour:
The Radio Happy Hour’s Star Trek event concludes with. . .

Faran Tahir, the first face you see in J.J. Abrams’s blockbuster Star Trek. He plays “Captain Robau,” the Federation Captain.
Born in Los Angeles to two well-known actor/writer/directors in Pakistan, Tahir is the first Federation Captain in history of middle-eastern ethnicity.
Tahir is also a familiar face to fans of Iron Man and 24.

Horror movie actor Anthony Fitzgerald stars in the recently released DVD, Laid to Rest.
Fitzgerald’s first got attention when he starred alongside Megan Fox (”Transformers”), Rumer Willis (”House Bunny”), Ken Bauman (”Secret Life of the American Teenager”) and the infamous porn star Ron Jeremy in the independent film WHORE, written and directed by Thomas Dekker (”Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” ).

Scott Krokoff is an independent singer-songwriter from Queens, New York.
His musical style combines the pop sensibilities of John Mayer with the folksiness of James Taylor, creating the kind of crossover appeal that is the hallmark of artists like Shania Twain.

Do you ever watch NUMB3RS? I enjoy the way they put math into the equation to solve crimes.
The characters are well written and their personal lives are central to the entire show arch.
The closing scene this past week left me with my jaw on my chest.

I rarely watch any network TV shows...Isn't that sad? Eh, not really. Cheers Vinny!!
I do like Numb3rs. I also liked the few episodes of 24 that I've seen. I have never gotten into LOST. No reason, just haven't tuned in.
I don't think that Allison was 'much better' than Kris. I like her and I think she'll improve as a singer. right now I think Kris is the best 'artist'. He knows how to connect through the song plus his voice is identifiable. Adam has a singular vocal ability but he rarely makes a connection. Sometimes less is more --the Tears for Fears song proves that. Danny is a good singer so I guess it's all down to the votes--right sugar?
i watch the housewives of new york city. tonight is the reunion. i can't wait for big brother. i know, i am pathetic! ha ha ha
smiles, bee
xoxoxoxoxoxoxox
I love Numb3rs, but I haven't gotten around to watching this past week's episode. Thanks for the reminder!
I think the judges have always tried to manipulate the the outcomes on American Idol. Although I haven't really watched this season. I do go to YouTube to see the performances, I just don't watch the show because I hate Randy, Paula and I really, REALLY hate the new judge. Yes, I'm using the word "hate" here!
I don't watch the other shows you mentioned. I've been wandering around in a TV fog ever since The Shield ended. Nothing else comes close.
I am glad they renewed Sons of Anarchy though. I enjoyed that show. Wish they had kept it as a spring/summer show instead of moving it to fall though.
As for network shows I am disappointed in Parks and Recreation. It's just not that funny. The Office is still pretty good and 30 Rock is okay. Heroes wasn't all that, but I watched it anyway cause, well cause I was already watching it.
I will say that the NBA playoffs (except Lakers games) and the NHL playoffs have been a lot of fun. That's what I usually watch.
I was disappointed when Allison left. I wanted to see her duke it out with Adam.
24! How is Jack going to save the world with his daughter in danger now? Who will he kill? (Tony I hope) and what will he do??!
Biting my nails...
To me this season was all about Allison and Adam. With all due respect to his fans, Kris bores me like watching paint dry. I don't find him artistic or unique in the least. He merely has a good, but weak, voice. He ain't Jason Mraz or John Mayer. Hell he isn't even Castro!
Danny "did I mention my wife is dead? Did ya see the video I gave to the producers?" Gokey makes me want to vomit. But I fully expect him to win even after that glass shattering version of "Scream On."
Adam, whom I adore adore adore, will be just fine with or without Idol. To me he connects each and every week.
After probably the worst manipulations I have seen in any season, TPTB over at 19 deserve Danny. And they thought Taylor was hard to market?! Phht. Taylor has boatloads of charisma, actual singing technique and he knows the words to his songs. Danny is like a watered down wanna be Taylor. And yet Simon has stroked him all season. Phht.
Now let's talk about what really matters in this post. Henry Rollins. I bow to thee, Henry. He is the man. I gotta start watching this show.
MATT-MAN: I probably watch too much..
DRILLERAA: Yup, Numb3rs is really enjoyable.
TURN: Always down to the votes...no doubt.
BEE: Well, I do like Big brother...
SONGBIRD: WATCH IT!
JAY: I think you are right. I have noticed since they could not with Taylor they try even harder now...I agree that SOA should be a spring/summer show
MIMI: Ssssssshhhh someone might not have seen it yet!
STARR: But how do you really feel about Idol? LOL
I immediately thought of you when I read the note on Rollins...
Have you seen Rollin's spoken word performances or his tv show on cable? He is so bright and so funny and so decidedly NOT PC. I loves Henry.
I unfortunately also love Idol. But after the shit way they treated Taylor it really bugs me to have them kissing Danny's ass. After that debacle last week Randy actually said he could sing ANYTHING. Um.......no.
Oh and hold on Soul Patrollers. Rumor has it that Danny is going to do You Are So Beautiful tonight. I LOLZ.
Mraz and Mayer--overrated
Tonight is the big ending for Lost. I can't wait.
If you haven't seen it yet you should check out the comedy The Big Bang Theory. When it first came on I wasn't too keen after watching the first episode. I figured another show showing how weird geeks are. Well it does do that, but the show has heart. I love it. And it's soooo funny.
I haven't watched 24 for the last two years. It's one of those shows you have to commit to not missing an episode. I still have last years run on DVD to watch and when this one comes out I'll buy it. I find watching it this way a lot more satsifying.
Never have been able to get into Numbers. I enjoy it when I watch it, but just never really seek it out. I still have problems seeing the main character as anyone besides Joel from Northern Exposure.
And one final show you should watch...Bones. This has become one of my favorite shows. It's good.
Mraz I agree. Mayer I adore. Hate where he puts his peen, but what can ya do =)
STARR: I have never seen the TV show. I have seen some of his spoken word performances and they rock. If he sings it it will open the door for comparisons and I wonder how that will go.
TURNBABY: You and John really need to make up!
Oh..Bones is awesome!
Hi Vinny, I must say I don't watch 24, Lost, American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, or any of them.
I must lead a dull life.
I have seen a few good episodes of "The Beverly Hillbillies" recently. Really! ask Ralph. He saw me watching them. ;-D
STARR: Like I said, I have watched and enjoyed, but I don't seek it
PATTI: HI LOL I love me some Jed...
I like Bones, but sometimes the interpersonal stuff can be a bit juvenile. I prefer NCIS over Bones.
P.S. I took a break from my "Beverly Hillbillies" watching to give you an award, Vinny. ;-)
There's really nothing I *have* to watch these days. I like Idol all right, but think Danny should have gone before Allison.
Grey's is starting to get better, but it was so bad for quite awhile, I almost gave up. I like Medium, but it can get annoying too.
Damn...maybe it's me? LOL
I keep losing track of my series tv. I did get into Castle. Of course, that might make me a bit of a lemming since it comes on right after DWTS on Monday. HA! I enjoy it anyway.
I also liked Lie To Me and The Mentalist, but I lost track of them.
I have to catch up to 24.
Haven't seen Lost, 24, or NUMB3RS. But, I do watch Scooby-Doo on Cartoon Network.
My biggest disappointment is with the original CSI. I just can't buy into Lawrence Fishburne's character. I think they over wrote him into the first three quarters of the season trying to get us on board.
I've been enjoying Southland. It seems to have a bit of edginess to it, but since it's on network TV anytime they swear, they get bleeped. That part is a bit irritating, but other than that is worth checking out.
So I got hooked on Castle and have followed House and Grey's Anatomy for quite some time. Of course the reality tv hooks are AI, Bachelor/ette, DWTS and SYTYCD.
And I used to not watch any tv!
Love, love, LOVE Numbers!
I'm also enjoying The Mentalist and Criminal Minds.
Oh! And the original CSI is still smokin'
