Scallops with Asparagus Risotto

Remember to get over and visit TRAVIS of "Trav's Thoughts",
and get your full DANCING WITH THE STARS rundown...

Speaking of dancing...on Saturday, Nancy and I had our first dance lesson. You see, that is her wedding gift to the both of us. We are choreographing our first dance and also learning to dance as a pair.
It was funny, because of the song, and the fact that the vocals are on one beat and the music on the other, the instructor said to us "I have an idea - it will not be a true ballroom dance, but no one will notice"
Nancy and I both giggled and I said "Well, Travis would be able to tell" and Nancy laughed a tad more and said "Yup!"
It really was fun and the hour flew. We got the first lesson for $20.00. Then we signed up for three more private lessons and that gains us an additional 4 group lessons and free passes to three Friday Night Dances, where their pupils and other instructors all hang out and dance and you need to switch partners so you get used to dancing with others and also learn from those more experienced.
I have always thoughtfor a white boy that I have rhythm and can dance. I have never taken a formal class, however, and after Travis guided me into the world of Dancing With The Stars and So You Think You Can Dance, I have wanted to get more formal training.
Let y'all know how it works.

Have I mentioned our honeymoon trip is planned?
HECK-A-DOODLE YES IT IS!
Seven nights in the sun and surf with an upgraded room - since they were having a sale - and who isn't these days! - and all the food and alcohol is included. OH BOY! are they going to lose money on Nancy and I!!!!

Honestly, I am not going to turn this into a wedding diary, because that is just not my style, but as I have not had a vacation (defined as going away to a destination that is not a friends or relatives) since December 2005.
So I am counting the days, hours, minutes, seconds until the plane takes off and Nancy and I get to spend some wonderfully romantic, peaceful, fun time together. Then we get back and I get to move out of the apartment and into our home.

This week, the subject is a rusting frog thing-a-ma-jig that sits on Nancy's deck.
It has all sorts of ambiance being rusted and all and it caught my eye. The rust gives it the coloration to be a part of this weekly photo hunt.

I took ballroom dancing for five years in jr. high and sr. high school. We never did anything that approached even the basics of DWTS, but it was great fun. You're going to enjoy the experience, I'm sure.
Since you're not going to turn this into a wedding blog, I suppose a honeymoon blog is is out of the question too?
My first wife & I did the dance lessons thing. It has come in handy! The honeymoon sounds fantastic. Too fantastic. OK, I am over it. Sounds terrific! Have a heck-a-doodle of a show...
Awwww my heart is melting! Dance lessons! I love it and I can't wait to see the video. You did say there would be a video right?
If you don't want to turn this into a wedding diary you have my email address! **winks**
I'm happy for you and Nancy! Truly happy!
Sounds like quite a trip. I'm sure y'all will have a great time.
And your Photoshop skills, as usual, are outstanding. Great work.
Need a House Sitter while you're on your Honeymoon? I won't steal much. Cheers Vinny!!
DRILLER: LOL..well when we get back, we will share pictures
BUD: I have always wanted to take some, so here we go
JULIE: SMOOCHERS dear..and sure, we will email you with details.
SOUTHERN: thank you Sir...appreciate it.
You've got quite the full summer planned, haven't you? We're hoping to get back to dance class sometimem later this year. We miss it.
Enjoy your dance lessons!
MATT-MAN: Sure, but the dog will sleep with you
TRAVIS: Yup, we do. It is fun and looking forward to more.
I tried dance lessons years and years ago. I was so bad the instructor told me having two left feet would have been an upgrade.
Being Sicilian makes me almost black you know.
I got the rhythm. I just have to be drunk!
JEFF: LOL..sorry bud
MICKEY-T: My brotha...I also am better after cocktails
Where will you be spending those 7 nights in the sun and surf in an upgraded room? Tropical New Jersey?
I would love to do the dance lessons thing with a special someone. And if not a honeymoon, then definitely a tropical trip. You guys are brimming over with happiness. I am seriously jealous (I admit it) and beaming from ear to ear that you are so happy!!!!! Maybe a little misty-eyed too...
OMG! Vin, Sheesh. LOL! I'm really not that dumb!
I truly couldn't ask for a better partner ... for dancing too.
DOC: You guessed it
MIMI: Thank you dear friend
BUSY: WOOO Welcome back
NANCY: Thank you my love, I am so lucky
The laser frog is stylish. I have to think that this reptile that croaks has got to look better in red than that ugly reptilian green!
The dance lessons sound like a lot of fun - and yes, video? The honeymoon getaway, of course, sounds awesome...so very happy for you both!
I love old rusty things...they just have character.
Sun and surf...Hawaii? We went to Acapulco and loved it.
Our first dance was pretty easy. The Missus held on for dear life and I just winged it. It was awe inspiring. Of cours,e when your brother and the rest of us danced on our backs to "Shout", it all went downhill from there.
how romantic - the dance lessons
youse guys are so cool
honeymoon plans sound great
love what you did with the froggie thingie
I don't think any instructor would even know where to start with me. I have no dancing ability whatsoever.
That honeymoon isn't planned for Mexico is it? ;-)
Great Ruby Tuesday. Your doing great with that GIMP!
Well good luck with the dancing! Sounds fun.
I love the super frog.
But I WANT a Wedding Diary, dammit! I am not doing that ever again, well unless I can have a wedding with no groom, but I LOVE weddings.
I want a diary.
*sniff*
*pouts*
*stamps foot*
RALPH: Thanks
TUG: So far, they are fun indeed..
FRED: Nope, not Hawaii...we did the SHOUT thing at my first one also
DIANNE: Thanks on all counts
ROGER: TY Sir
TOPCHAMP: Thanks
STARR: LOL...nah..well maybe...nah...keep you guessing.
Phht.
Screw that, someone needs a new blog. Instead of The Couch you can call it The Aisle.
OH yeah, like I have another 22 seconds in my day for ANOTHER blog!
Any trip that includes sun and surf is great by me, but free booze and chow? Bring it ON!
