Want to see some great photography? HECK-A-DOODLE, I am sure you have some great photos, so join on in with Roger's Creative Photo Contest! Everything you need to know is sitting right behind that logo above.

This week, we visit Nancy's backyard. There is a bench near the tree line that always catches my eye. It looks different depending upon the time of day and how the light is hitting it.

I took the following picture and did not realize I had my settings a tad f'ed up...

Using the GIMP PROGRAM, I played first with the Hue and Saturation to change the overall feel of the shot. Then I went in and tinkled with the color balance settings, looking for the right combination for what was in my minds-eye. I did a slight crop on the original to cut out the washed out area at the bottom.

Finally, I added just a hint of canvas to the final product and am fairly happy with the overall results. TAAAAAA DAAAAAAA!

“Feel a Change Comin' On”, the previously unreleased track from Bob Dylan’s upcoming release Together Through Life, can now be sampled exclusively on at THIS NEWSWEEK PAGE.

  3. Schmoop Says:
  4. I dunno...With the exception of the sunlight at the bottom, I kinda like the original. Just sayin'. Cheers Vinny!!

  5. DrillerAA Says:
  6. Yep, when you screw up the camera settings, you can always mess with it in post production and tell your friends that it's supposed to look like that. Nice work.

  7. JAY: They sure do

MATT-MAN: Well TY Sir, I appreciate it

DRILLERAA: Post production has saved many a picture!

  8. Fred Says:
  9. I should post a picture or two from D3. She is extremely talented when it comes to photography. So much so, she's one of a few taking Advanced Placement Photo next year as a senior.

  10. BeckEye Says:
  11. I could never get through an AC/DC concert. I imagine if people asked me how it was, I'd say, "They only played one song, but it lasted for 2 hours."

  12. FRED: You should do so...would love to see them

BECKEYE: And all they have is nice things to say about you.

  13. AC/DC are killer in concert. They have cannons, and Giant Inflatable Sex Dolls and you can flash your boobs to the jumbotron =)

  14. Tug Says:
  15. Thunderstruck was the song that opened the IHL games in Vegas, LOVED.IT.
