Freakin' Friday Fotos....

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Friday, March 06, 2009

First off, if you really want to know about the new U2 album, No Lines On The Horizon, you must check out the awesome review being done (in multiple parts) over at STARRLIGHT'S "Here Comes A Storm In The Form Of A Girl" (and people say my blog name is long! hehe. She is doing one bang up job!.

So, I promised to participate in Roger's Photo Contest more and today I shall...at the same time many of my friends play along with this "Looking At The Sky On Friday" thingy that Crazy Working Mom hosts, and I had a shot I took a few weeks ago, so I thought I would show you that also...

So I decided HECK-A-DOODLE!, let's just do Freakin Friday Fotos! (Maybe I need to do some sort of graphic for this, but HECK-A-DOODLE! I just did not have time today...)

Click on the graphics to get over to the sites and see what others are doing...(and click on the photos to see them larger...)

First off...Sky shot, taken a few Sunday's ago. It had poured all morning and I had to go out to the store for something or other and when I went in, it was still raining...by the time I came out, the sun was beginning to shine and this is what the sky looked like...right off the cell camera...

Then for Roger's, I had this shot of Manhattan, taken from the Observation Tower of one of the truly wondrous buildings that no longer exist in my home city...Looking up the East River, that is the Queensboro Bridge, also known as the 59th Street Bridge, sung about by Simon & Garfunkel...

I toyed with the colorization a tad to give it more of an artsy feel...hope you likey...

And, of course, I could only play
one song with that...

ENJOY...

Have a most wonderful weekend.

Be back on Monday with another Tuneage Tutelage - New Music Monday!

Thanks for the shout out on the review! I finished that last half of the album and posted it for today. Somehow my evening off (Kidlet is at her dad's this weekend) has had it's Friday night co-opted and I am playing Driving Miss Daisy for my daughter and 2 of her friends to the movies tonight. So much for the long drive to listen to the album straight through twice while on the road!

  15. TURNBABY: That is what caught my eye ...the lighting...THANKS

STARR: LOL...I am going to start designing some things...
Will be by to read it soon...I missed it last night. I fell asleep without setting TiVo...sheesh

  16. I would never attempt an album review after Starr. She and I listen to music very differently; or, at least, we listen to U2 from different perspectives. I'm still wading through posts and trying to catch up from being laid up all week. Whew!

  17. SONGBIRD: I was not even thinking of reviewing that album with Starr on board!
    Rest up dear girl.

  18. Vinny, I put U2 up in my sidebar - he's IRISH, ya know! And so am I! I just married Italian! Ha! Take a look at my Sepia Scenes post for a real closeup I took last weekend of the 59th St. bridge. the songs there too! Hey, great minds... :)
