OOPS - HAD A BRAIN CRAMP!!!! FORGOT THIS PART
A note from Turnbaby:
A note from Turnbaby:
Today is the second anniversary of this blog (Her's not mine! Go on over and wish her a Happy Bloggoversary HERE). And tonight joining me at 8 PM on TurnbabyTalks is the responsible party, Mr. VinnyBond (HEY THAT'S ME!) of Bond's Big Leather Couch and regular Ringmaster of the Chat at Doc Blogstein's Radio Happy Hour every Tuesday at 9 PM ET on BlogTalkRadio. I started blogging because he did and then it all snowballed from there ;-)
We are planning on an evening filled with talk of food--comfort food --- party food---tailgate food--- we'll even give out advice and recipes.
And I am certain he'll mention that his fantasy team whipped up on my fantasy team this past weekend (Now, would I do that? ;-0 ). But we still have a way to go on the season so no worries for my Sirens.
You can find us and listen and play in the chat by clicking that lovely button at the top of this post. You can CALL IN by dialing 646-716-8102. If you can't make it live you can always hear the archived shows by using the player in my sidebar.

I have been scanning old slides and pictures and came across this photo, taken in St. Lucia in 1984. We were in the town of Soufriere, which is on the South-Western part of the island.
I spent 10 days there and it rained for almost 8 of them. I can tell you that my bar bill was even more than the hotel bill at the end of 10 days!
This traffic officer was out doing her job and her demeanor just caught my eye.
I posterized the picture to give it a more artistic feel.
I give you "Stop In The Name Of The Law".

Coming up this week on DR. BLOGSTEIN’S RADIO HAPPY HOUR:
(Live on Tuesday September 16 at 9PM ET and forever archived at BlogTalkRadio.)
Andy Taylor, singer, songwriter and guitarist for Duran Duran during the band’s heyday in the 80’s sits down for an exclusive one on one with Dr. Blogstein.
Taylor, an original member of the biggest musical act to come out of the UK since The Beatles, tells all in his new autobiography Wild Boy: My Life in Duran Duran.
We’ll get all the backstage, behind the scenes dirt on Duran Duran’s rock and roll lifestyle during the decade of excess. We’ll get all the inside scoop on the sex, drugs, scandals and, of course, the music of Duran Duran.
Then, remaining in the 80’s time warp, novelist Matthew Wayne Selznick will join Dr. B and Dangerous Lee. Selznick is the author of Brave Men Run which has been described as “X-Men meets The Breakfast Club.” It was also the first work of original fiction with an initial simultaneous release in print, ebook and free podcast edition.
Also this week: George the Giant.
At 7-3, this gentle giant gained worldwide fame thanks to his appearance on America’s Got Talent (below).
We’ll find out how close he came to dying while rehearsing for the hit NBC show. Plus, you’ll never believe how tall his wife is!
All that, plus Vinny Bond drags his Big Leather Couch into the Radio Happy Hour Lounge to chat live with the listeners (man, a busy night for me!), Justin the Weatherman and we’ll take your calls at 646-652-4804.
Join us live every Tuesday night at 9PM ET. The Radio Happy Hour Lounge-a live, interactive chat room during show time! It’s the show within the show!

Nice poster... reminds me of carribean art.
No mention of Rick Wright's passing?
Andy? Really?
Nice bit of solarizing on the Ruby Tuesday photo.
America may have talent, but I'm not convinced much of it shows up on this program. I just can't get interested in it. I like American Idol, and Nashville Star (they need to lose Billy Ray Montana), but AGT just doesn't trip my trigger.
I like the picture quite a bit there Vin. Hey, ask Taylor if he hosed Belinda Carlisle when he played on her solo album. He played the solo on Mad About You. Cheers!!
Wow, busy post!
I am going to try to get back into the Creative Photography competition. Seems I've been too busy, but I really miss it. Happy Ruby Tuesday.
ANNDI: Thank you... tomorrow we honor Mr. Wright and give all a chance at a special gift..
Andy - yes
DRILLERAA: Thanks, I appreciate it..and I do not watch it either to be honest.
MATT-MAN: Thanks dude...Doc did the interview...
STAR: I have had fun with the Creative Photo contest.
Great photo Vinny! I like the look you gave it with your editing skillz. ;-)
My goodness, that guy is freakin' tall!
Have a great day my friend!
Hugs,
Kimmie
And aren't we GUESTING TONIGHT on TurnbabyTalks?????
Stop in the name of law! Hahahaha, actually the song "stop in the name of love will be running through my head now thanks a lot Vin.
Great photo! That could be album cover, thanks for the submit.
And a good Ruby Tuesday to ya!
I read Mary's suggestion about doing just a splash of red in this week's Ruby Tuesday. She's right. My eye was drawn right off to the red stripe in the background of the photo before it wandered to anything else.
Even with the posterized effect, that red is the first thing my eye wanted to look at.
Cool.
KIMMIE: Thank you very much...Yes he is!
HUGS
TURNBABY: BRAIN CRAMP!!!!! fixed
ROGER: heheheh well there are worse songs to have stuck in your head!
TRAVIS: I had not seen that until this morning. But you are correct. When I did it for Roger's contest it hit me..man I can use this for Ruby tuesday too!
... and just how does one forget TurnBaby?? *shakes head in disappointment*
Lover the posterized photo!
DANA: Yeah...you are a big help...sheesh...BRAIN CRAMP!
Thanks on the poster
i am planning on listening tonight~~hopefully, my plan
will work out~~
charlene
Ya know what we used to call Duran Duran? "4 hunky dudes and guitarist." Tell Andrew to stop being a douche! This is like the third time the boy has bailed!
Seriously I was a massive Duranie in the 80's. My nickname was even Duran Duran Fanatic Fan. And I can still tell you all 5 boys birthdays. Andy is an aquarian mores the pity :P
Posterize is one of my favorite effects!
I like how you posterized the photo, Vinny.
I've never tried posterizing, but I may just give it a whirl. Live dangerously, right?
Our daughter is a huge Pink Floyd fan at 19, and she instant messaged me yesterday that Rick Wright had died.
I love what you did with the picture. Very nice. Wishing Turnbaby a happy anniversary as well!
Ah, a vacation on a sunny (usually) Caribbean island. I liked ordering a drink on the beach and casually giving the waiter my room number...
(Gotta love it when you settle the bill on your way out!)
you are having a busy busy day....
hope to catch you somewhere later.
LOL @ Starr's comment. Might be nice if he made up his mind...
CHAR: Glad you made it
STARR: LOL...never a big fan to be honest
PATTI: Thanks so much...a special post tomorrow for Mr. Wright
RALPH: Do I have to love the bill?
MIMI: Thanks so much
KATHERINE: It has been and almost over
ANNDI: Make up his mind? Why? He is doing well waffling
You sounded great on TB's show tonight. Wish I had caught the entire thing.
The photo look very cool.
SONGBIRD: Thanks...it was nice of you to come in and listen
Love the poster effect, actually quite a cool blog you have here.
BOB: Thanks so much. Hope you find yourself wandering over to sit on The Couch even when it is not for Creative Photo.
Lol, that was fast, hey, that's what it's all about, getting to know more people through the contest, I'll be back.
Sorry I didn't get here for Ruby Tuesday on Tuesday. I'm suffering from too much on plate disease.
I LOVE the photo. There was a TV show in the early 80s that used shots like that during the opening credits. I can not for the life of me remember which one - it was the 80s, so much is lost in a haze of herbal cigarettes and wine coolers.
BOB: Most excellent...I do love what you do on your blog also
DIANNE: Is that when Matt-Man was doing Doogie Howser?
'herbal cigarettes'...ummm OK...see I lost the 80's recovering from the 70's...
Wow cool pic. It seems I can only get on your blog at work, I keep getting internet errors on your page at my house. What's up with that? have any ideas on how I can fix that? let me know via email. Its on my blog profile.
Happy Ruby Tuesday!
