There were some pictures that just did not come out from the Audubon Center on Nancy's camera and I need to get the roll in my camera finished off and then developed to see what is there, but I do have some photos to share with all y'all today. As always, click to enlarge.
First up is in honor of Ruby Tuesday...Now Mary/The Teach says it does not matter how much red is in the photo so that is a good thing.

Only male hummingbirds have red on their neck and only adult males have red...SEE! I did learn something...
Each hummingbird was measured for weight, size of their beak and a few other measurements. While they waited their turn the hummingbirds are kept in little net bags. Funny, the ids that were gathered around - and there were many of them - kept asking "Are they dead?", since the birds did not flutter a wing...then the tiniest of bands were placed around their 'ankles' (Yeah I know birds don't have ankles, but you know what I mean), before being released.

These were taken at Nancy's on Saturday as we were preparing dinner...I had splashed some water on myself and did not notice that I still had some spots on my shirt...OH WELL!
Oh and Fred...Mom and Dad say HI!

Then, you know an artist is good when she only goes by one name. Joséphine left the romantic streets of Paris at the age of 17 to pursue a career in music. That career has taken her to Montreal, New York City and now the Radio Happy Hour. We’ll listen to some tunes and her undoubtedly sexy French accent.
All that, plus Vinny Bond drags his Big Leather Couch into the Radio Happy Hour Lounge to chat live with the listeners, Justin the Weatherman and we’ll take your calls at 646-652-4804.
Join us live every Tuesday night at 9PM ET. The Radio Happy Hour Lounge-a live, interactive chat room during show time-is a whole new reason to make sure you listen live! It’s the show within the show!

This is one of the songs from Joséphine. It is entitled "I Sing"...hope you enjoy...
Awww ... love the photos, but I do want to know just how one catches a humming bird!
The family looks well.
Josephine's tune was very nice.
I'm amazed that anyone can catch a humming bird, much less give 'em an ankle bracelet.
DANA: Ah I guess I should have explained that also.... They have feeders up all over surrounded by ribbons tie to the trees. The feeders are inside cages so that when the hummingbirds fly to the feeder, they just close the cage door and then when they are ready to examine, and tag them, they reach into the cage and just grab hold.
DRILLERAA: Thanks and see above for the explanation.
That's why I never do dishes in the morning...too much chance to slop water down my front.
Bwahahahahahahahaaa!
*nudges Travis* Good one, bro!
One word: apron!
Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Isn't dad a smarty, surrounding himself with two lovely ladies!
I tried, I did... but Josephine... nope.
I'm smilin from ear to ear after viewing the photos and reading yesterdays post about your visit.
So glad all went well. Everyone looks happy and well.
Now that Mom and Dad have returned to S. Florida...I will be expecting you and Nancy to visit them sometime...I'm only 45 mins south ;-)
YAY!
:-)
HUGS!!
Wow do you look like your dad!
TRAVIS: LOL...OK, yeah...but it was afternoon!
JAY: Glad I could give you that perfect pick-up line!
ANNDI: Frilly, with red hearts?
ummm so did I!
LEELEE: thank you sweet friend...Be careful what you wish for! LOL
STARRLIGHT: But only better looking ...right? right??? why are there crickets?
That hummingbird is so tiny! It looks so fragile, I'd be terrified of hurting it. And they can tag it too - that's cool.
Nice to see your folks. Although I don't like pictures of me I do love to see the people behind the blog.
Josephine is very good. As ever, good luck with the show!
TOPCHAMP: They handle them so carefully...
Thanks on the photos...and glad you enjoyed Josephine.
Looks as though they hate each other. What now???
Bud: Yeah...there was pure hatred in their eyes....LOL
What now? Nancy and I keep enjoying each other and take it from there...
Your apron matches your boxer briefs then?
*gigglesnort*
Back at ya' Mom and Dad. They look great! IS it possible your hair is whiter than your dad's? :)
Thanks for the great recap of the visit and the pictures.
Did dad Vince get a volume control for those shorts?!?
Sounds like you all had a good visit, glad to hear it.
Fred's right - your hair IS whiter than your dad's!
Great photo. Love your RT entry. I'm amazed that they can even catch those tiny things.
I love the family pics...very nice to see! So how much does a hummingbird weigh? Seems like I read mere OUNCES somewhere - am I close?
ANNDI: And your panties! LOL
FRED: It is...thanks for noticing..
JEFFB LOL...Maybe he will answer you himself! It was a great visit
SONGBIRD: Thanks on the photo
TUG: Thanks...and they weigh about 3 GRAMS...about the same as a penny
Oh nice Ruby Tuesday. Mine's up too.
Im having troubles with your blog, I keep getting an internal explorer error, and then it closes the sight altogether. THis only happens to yours. Any idea? lol I'll try to get on to your site again. Got on through the Work of a Poet. Weird eh?
Whoa-I knew hummingbirds were small, but I've never actually seen them next to someone's hand before! Neat.
Also, the splashing water thing and having spots on your shirt? Totally something I'd do!!!
The photos are wonderful. I'm with Starr. You and your dad! Wow!
So good to see you happy and beaming!!
your dad has some snazzy bermuda's for sure.
great pictures.
