Thanks to all for the great comments from yesterday's post. It is an important topic and we can not allow entitlement to take over our world...
I mentioned in the comments section that on one of the teams I coached we decided that a coach could not talk to his son in the dugout during the game. Another coach could talk to your son, but not you...It made it easier to not make it about an individual's son.
ALERT ALERT ALERT....They are arresting bloggers!!!!!!
FBI agents arrested 27-year-old Kevin Cogill on Wednesday morning on suspicion of violating federal copyright laws. Cogill appeared in court in the afternoon.
Federal authorities say Cogill posted nine unreleased Guns N' Roses songs on his Web site in June. The songs were later removed.
In later posts, Cogill wrote that the FBI had questioned him and asked his readers if any of them knew a good attorney. He was represented Wednesday by a federal public defender.
According to an arrest affidavit, Cogill admitted to agents that he posted the songs on his Web site. Prosecutors said Wednesday the leak could result in a "significant" financial loss for the band".
OK...WAIT....back up...a "significant" financial loss for the band"??????????
We are talking about Chinese Democracy here, right????
Over 10 years in the "making"???...Axl Rose's Season In Hell???
Cogill will not face any special Internet restrictions, but was ordered to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 17.
"Guns N' Roses representatives have been made aware of the arrest and are leaving the matter to the authorities," said Larry Solters, the band's spokesman.
Axl...sorry but I have lost all interest in anything that you deem musical...
Hey on the good music front...we talked about the AC/DC DVD to be released in September. Well today the first single from AC/DC's newest album Black Ice – “Rock 'N' Roll Train” – debuts.
The band’s first studio album in eight years will be released by Columbia Records on October 20th.
Black Ice features 15 new tracks from brothers Angus and Malcolm Young, Brian Johnson, Cliff Williams, and Phil Rudd. The album was produced by Brendan O’Brien at the Warehouse Studio in Vancouver , BC.
The band is set to kick off its first world tour since 2001. It begins in late October, kicking off in Wilkes Barre, PA and will last 18-months. As of this writing no other details are available, but I suspect they will be forthcoming with the release of the single.
Black Ice will be sold in the U.S. exclusively at Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club retail locations at the special price of $11.88. Online, the CD will be available with free shipping and handling via the band’s website, AC/DC.com, and will also be available at WalMart.com and SamsClub.com

Mr. Marvin Gaye
September 1964
Tamla
Holland-Dozier-Holland
Lead vocals: Marvin Gaye
Background vocals: The Andantes
Instrumentation by The Funk Brothers
Tutelage Note On The Andantes: Comprised of Jackie Hicks, Marlene Barrow, and Louvain Demps, the group sang background vocals on over ten thousand Motown recordings, including songs by Martha Reeves & the Vandellas, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Jimmy Ruffin, Edwin Starr, Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, among others.
Tutelage Note On The Funk Brothers: The nickname given to a group of Detroit, Michigan, session musicians who performed on the backing tracks to most Motown Records recordings from 1959 until 1972, when the company moved to Los Angeles.
Early members included bandleader Joe Hunter and Earl Van Dyke (piano); James Jamerson (bass guitar); Benny "Papa Zita" Benjamin and Richard "Pistol" Allen (drums); Robert White, Eddie Willis, and Joe Messina (guitar); Jack Ashford (tambourine, percussion, vibes, marimba); Jack Brokensha (vibes, marimba); and Eddie "Bongo" Brown (percussion). Hunter left in 1964, replaced on keyboards by Johnny Griffith and as bandleader by Van Dyke. Around the same time Uriel Jones joined the band as a third drummer.
In 1967, guitarists Dennis Coffey and Melvin "Wah-Wah Watson" Ragin, who introduced the wah-wah pedal sound that defined Motown's psychedelic soul records, joined the band.
Benny Benjamin died the next year, and Bob Babbitt began to replace James Jamerson on many recording dates.

Let us not forget that Axl is bi-polar; given time, he might change his opinion on this so-called infringement.
I sure enjoy your tidbits ... wait ... that sounds kind of bad, doesn't it?
This seems to be a trend in the music industry, to sell the product in exclusive outlets. The Eagles "Long Road Out of Eden" was also sold only through Walmart and Sam's Club locations. That can't make Borders, Virgin Record stores and other outlets very happy.
How did the dude get a hold of those recordings? Cheers Vin!!
Often times the Feds seem more interested in going after people on behalf of big corporations like the recording industry than they are real criminals.
The FBI MUST have something better to do. Guns & Roses? I am sure people ran around making copies of that crap...
SONGBIRD: Axl is bi-freakin-out-of-his-mind...but that's just my opinion
DANA: Depends on your point of view...one person's bad is another persons WOO HOO
DRILLERAA: It is certainly a trend which is why we have lost almost all the mom and pop stores and even the Virgins, Borders et al are struggling
MATT-MAN: Good question, but I could not find that info- I did look
JAY: Someone is at your door...KIDDING!
BUD: Tone deaf people right? Making copies right? no taste in music right?
Great choice in music today my dear. Always enjoy your tidbits.
Oh yeah time to load up Marvin and Tammy.
I read about that guy getting busted but honestly, anyone who screws around with Axl HAS to know that hellfire and shitstorms are gonna decend on you.
And 13 years in the making but who is counting. Those corn rows slow Axl's synapsis down ;)
Seriously--arrested for Guns n Roses ????
DARLIN' NANCY: Music is all yours today baby..and please, let's talk about my tidbits in private
STARR: Incredible ...13 years...and no one caught my Season In hell reference... sheesh
TURNBABY: You would think Axl would pay the freaking guy just for the publicity
How sweet it is.....bla bla bla [you all know the words]
One of the greatest song lines ever.
I want to stop and thank you Bond.
MICKEY-T: It is a great song and I will stop and say your welcome....
I heard about this in the news this morning. And we're all saying the same thing...Guns 'n Roses?
If I read this correctly, the guy was arrested for publicly posting unreleased material that belonged to musicians, without their permission. This was material that was not available for purchase to the general public. That's a bootleg and that's illegal, isn't it? Digital piracy is still illegal, isn't it?
If I've got that correct, then what difference does it make who the band was? It's stealing. Whether we think Axl Rose is a joke or not, the tracks belong to him and he has the right to decide when and to whom they can be released.
I would be pissed if someone other than myself posted any of my manuscripts on a blog for anyone to read, without my permission. It's my work and nobody has a right to display it for the public without my permission.
I've just been through this kind of thing at my company with sensitive information being released to the public, without our permission.
We own our work as artists, gang. It sucks when somebody doesn't respect that.
Thank you so very much for the shout-out my friend!
I've got some G n R on my ipod...I still like 'em. ;-)
