Our First Post of 2008
HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!
MAY IT BRING YOU PROSPERITY, LOVE AND HEALTH...
We are home and had a great time with TurnBaby and the DH and their friends...We will tell you all about it tomorrow...but we had a fan-tab-u-lous time on her radio show Sunday...check the player on our left sidebar for some incredible fun...
Today, we share a video with you. This was made by our friend Angell'z sister-in-law's niece's dad...The niece, Ali began something wondeful in her hometown of Toronto...The video is 10 minutes long, but it shows what one person can start...Meet "The Angels Of Mercy"...
As you are aware, we are firm believers in FreeRice.com and the wonderful work they are doing in under-developed countries...
BUT we can not forget those who live on our streets...those who go to bed every night freezing cold or with hunger pains who live in Toronto, and New York City and Montreal and San Francisco and Atlanta and Palm Beach and Salt Lake City and San Antonio and Lexington and Springfield and Memphis and Vancouver and Commack and every other city or town or village big and small...
They are not all adults either...there are children who live in cars with their parents, there are teens who have no where to go and end up being exploited by those who have no souls...
That old blanket you have that you no longer use, or maybe the dog lays on at night? Tomorrow when you leave for work, throw it in your car and if you see one of these poor souls, roll down you window and hand it to them....
As you leave your Starbucks or Dunkin' Donuts or Krispy Kream or Timmy's....order an extra coffee and muffin and donut and just look around as you leave...We bet you see someone who lives on the street without too much effort. Walk over and hand them that coffee and donut.
Making a sandwich to bring to the office...make a second one and hand it over to someone who had not eaten in days...
Make 2008 the year we all just try a little harder...because we can all "get by with a little help from our friends"...
Bless you all...

Good morning, my friend! I'll come back later in the day to watch the video, but since I'm awake now (just put hubby on the airport shuttle), I thought I'd come by and visit, wish you a Happy New Year.
Later daze.
Amen brutha...Cheers!!
SONGBIRD: and Happy New Year...the video is worth returning for...
MATT-MAN: Hallelujah say the word and let it be heard

Vince, thank you my friend. In case I didn't say it already, may 2008 bring you all the health and happiness that you deserve.
SMOOCHES.
Happy New Year, VinBo! Welcome to 08!
great idea to buy an extra and give it to someone who needs it...
Happy New Year Vincent !
Hmmm, haven't come across any homeless people in...years! But I wholeheartedly support giving to those in need. What a great post to start off the New Year. Hugs! :)
Happy New Year! Glad the party went well.
Happy New Year sweetie! Sorry I missed the party but I knew y'all would understand this one.
Happy 2008, Vinny! Thanks for the reminder and the pretty cool song, one of my alltime favorites. Our internet connection s*cks today, so I sadly can´t watch the youtube video, but I´ll bookmark the link and watch asap!
xoxoxo
I saw the video over at Angell's. I think it shows how rapidly one person can spread something and make a difference.
ROGER: HNY to you and ty on the tune
MAGS: HNY and I hope we all do our little share
BEE: HNY to you also
ANGELL: this was a no brainer dear friend and all the best to you also
108: Kyra...glad it is getting you all hard, but I happen to be using mine at the moment..maybe Matt will lend you his..he is not using it
DOC: And to you Sir...should be a good year
KATHERINE: I have done it often, so easy and not giving money helps to not allow them to buy alcohol in many cases
MERI: Honestly, then you are not going where they live...they are even in your small town
BUD: HNY to you also Sir
DIXIE: NO I am not talking to you! LOL Kidding SugarBaby
SANNI: Happy 2008 to you also...
TRAVIS: Yes it does my friend
Very nice...thank you. The Angels of Mercy are awesome. When we lived in Vegas, K & I would stock up on McDonald's & pass that out to the people on the streets...you'd think it was steak & lobster!
Happy Happy New Year my friend...may 2008 be very good to you and your family.
That was wonderful. I don't live in an area where there are homeless on the streets, but as soon as we move, I'm planning to give a BUNCH of stuff to our local charities. What a beautiful message. Thank you!
I hate it when I can't watch the videos...
damn...
Are you not gonna talk to me either? (I'd sit and pout in a corner with SugarBaby but I can't find her....)
TUG: I know exactly what you mean...I would do that in Manhattan...and they thought they were dining at the Ritz...
TIGGERLANE: You are welcome...I wonder if they are in the woods and by the bridges in your area...
ANNDI: Sorry BFF...I am sure you will come back tonight and watch...and I told SugarBaby I was only kidding ...hehehehehehe
can't watch the vid as I'm listening to archives of you and turnbaby. Only got to the patent mary-janes with 4inch heels so I have a fair way to go.
Happy new year... can't remember if I said it before.
Will be back to watch another day.
nice idea - I hope those people all make it through the cold.
You know I approve of volunteering. You do some too I remember for that housing project which sounds amazing. I could probably do more... maybe that's a resolution for me.
