I don't know. I think this day will vanish, along with Columbine and be something people refer to without any real significance. By becoming a media circus, politicized by the left and the right, it is simply thirty two people who came together at the wrong place and time as tragedy stalked and gathered them up.
STEWART: Thanks for the participation. I hope this day does not go away...the media circus is disgusting...and I even watched them talking about it the other night and kept yelling at the TV "THEN LEAVE THEM ALONE"
Thanks Vinny. The other day I posted the picture of one of the victims who gave his life to save his students. As one of the victim's family members said, "Remember them, not the man who killed them."
Good Pics V. I was just there and saw all of those sites. The Korean War tribute that you have pictured was amazingly lame. Everything else was very good. Cheers!!
Thank you for this wonderful tribute to all the senseless losses of life. When we saw the Vietnam Memorial, it brought me too tears, how the names just went on forever. Saying a silent prayer for all.
I have to disagree with Matt on the Korean War Monument. I saw it at night and it was very impressive and eerie at the same time. There is nothing lame about it at all when viewed properly. Of course we are all entitled to our own thoughts and opinions.
wow, amazing post bond. i am truly impressed! and sorry to be so late, sigh. i get so easily sidetracked when someone has chocolate in their comments box you know, then i nap, and wander around. i need to "focus", right? anyway, wonderful post....
MORGEN: My friend...I totally understand your feelings..and the picture on your blog is for a cause I shout about often. This one time, I wanted to honor those with silence.
TRAVIS: Thank you...funny but it took me almost as long as if I had written a Monday Matinee...looking for the perfect images.
LINDA: It took them way too long to have a memorial for those who fought in the "Forgotten War" It looks impressive and I look forward to seeing it someday in person. Thanks for coming by THE COUCH, please stop by anytime.
Dixie: Kisses and hugs Sugarbaby
BEE: TYVM for the compliment. Never late...THE COUCH is open 24/7. WHO HAD CHOCOLATES????????
I got into blogging to express myself. It has led me to sharing my life, my passion for food, my fiction and my love of music.
Music On The Couch is a passion for me. Sharing "Musicians You Should Know" and helping those who appear on the show to grow their audience.
very good bond

HUGS!!!
I have elected to post my normal Manic Monday. I've chosen to honor the day by continuing with my normal routine.
I think I've found the right poem. I don't remember if I've posted it before, but it seemed appropriate.
DANA: I will never put the name of the person who caused a tragedy up... why give them the satisfaction
PIA: I love the quote and agree wholeheartedly
TRAVIS: My friend... remember it is not this Monday, but next...
Interesting Idea. Thanks for posting it.
Beautiful photos, Vinny. Tonight and Monday, I weep and bow my head in silent prayer.
silence speaks

Yo Bond...I was just pointing out that more could have done. If you saw the Korean Memorial in person, you would say to yourself, "WTF"? Cheers...
SARGE: Thank you Sir, coming from you, it means a lot.
MATT-MAN: sheesh I was teasing you dude.... all hung up being the star of a Bud Light commercial has weakened your "tease-factor"
LOL
