"OUR HOUSE"

Apologies to all of THE COUCH sitters who stop by early early and found there was not a new post.

Last evening as we were just completing our Friday post, the electricity went out and poof the post went bye-bye.

By the time the power came back on
THE COUCH had folded up for the evening...
Please keep our friend Coco in your prayers. She is having it rough after her car accident, and is still suffering some incredible pain.
Well, the Memphis headquarters for THE COUCH and The Soul Patrol is 99% complete. There are still a few pictures to go up (no more hangers--gotta get some tonight), and we need to decide what to do with a few big white, bland walls, and some sort of curtains.

We have some cool posters that we have collected, but they are not in frames and we are not sure we want to go the "college dorm room" style of pushpins.

The vinyl still needs shelving to truly be situated (and that could take care on one of the above mentioned walls), but right now that is out of the question.

These are via cellphone, so please excuse the roughness of them, but we think you will get a feel...

Not the Taj Mahal...but it is now home...

When you walk in the front door and turn to your left, the living room is there. It is about 11"W x 17"L

Continuing into the living room, you see the kitchen.

Still waking toward the kitchen. Door in between bookshelves is where washer/dryer is. Door just past 2nd bookshelf is 1/2 bath. And door facing you is pantry.

Galley kitchen. Does have a garbage disposal and a dishwasher that you can not see.

Back at the front door, looking upstairs. The dresser in front of you is from my childhood & holds cassettes, additional CDs and other audio necessities.

Up the stairs and you turn to the left and the bedroom...it is same size as living room basically. Yes that IS the vinyl there on the floor...Mac is in the background on the left.

Now looking from the bed back. To the left of the sink is the walk in closet. Just opposite that
is the shower & toilet.

And finally, back downstairs to the front door.

Have a tremendous weekend all........

Thanks for sitting on THE COUCH, hope you enjoyed your stay.

Remember .. Nets For Malaria - UNFoundation.org/malaria - find the big SI's Nothing But Net logo ... Or call 202.887.9040. Every cent goes to buying nets to place over the beds of children in Africa to stomp out Malaria. PLEASE HELP.

Keep that spark of insanity kids...It helps keep you an individual.

  5. Unknown Says:
  6. Thanks a lot for introducing the headquarters of THE (COMFY) COUCH. It is nice to know THE COUCH is living in a warm and cozy home, which is looking much more homelike and comfortable than the above mentioned "little mausoleum in India" which neither features a grand kitchen, nor any kind of TV or Hifi-unit.

    Enjoy it =)

    S.

  19. I love this song too...and I actually know it. Yey for me. LOL
I'd love to do an entry like this sometime, but this place is usually in a mess...but I love seeing how other people live. It's so interesting to me...the colors they use, the furniture, the decor. Maybe I was an interior decorator in another life. :-)
    Have a good weekend.

  20. Meribah Says:
  21. Looks like you've made a nice little home for yourself. Good to see you're settling in comfortably. Hope things go well for you there.

  22. Unknown Says:
  23. Wow great looking pad. Hey why don't you put the posters in black frames. That makes it look more 'adult'.

  24. Bud Fisher Says:
  25. Nice pad. I dresser full of CDs & cassettes. Can you believe how quickly CDs came in & have gone out as the #1 choice for listening to music. I wouldn't buy a CD player until they stopped making LPs. Now my CD racks look like relics of an age gone by.

    Bud

  26. ANNDI...Well I hope that the art will flash the color..

BUD: Well..Still have all the vinyl too as you can see in the picture..or did people think I mean the flooring was vinyl??? I meant the records!

  27. TopChamp Says:
  28. Evening - The house looks lovely. Hope you have a good weekend too.

I can sympathise with big white bland walls!! I'll look forward to finding out how you decide to fill them in the end... I think I'm going for big posters in frames but I think there's a few coats of paint left for me to do first.

  29. Travis Cody Says:
  30. It's a sad day when you feel have to explain the meaning of "the vinyl". Got mine all in boxes too.

Glad you're settling into the job and the home.

  31. Unknown Says:
  32. :looks around:

    Nice place...where's the guest bedroom?

  33. TOP: Yes, I am thinking the same thing. I have some great posters I have collected over the years...now..it is about framing them...

DANA: If you come dear, you get the bedroom.. THE COUCH is mine... but isn't it always! LOL

  34. Coco Says:
  35. Vinny, I love your new place. (Especially that big long lineup of LP's I see marching down one side of the bedroom!) It looks very comfy and a lot bigger than I had imagined. Question - what is the LP sticking up above the others near the foot of the bed?

Thanks for the prayer request, darlin'. You all have really helped me keep it together through the rough stuff.

    Smooches,
    Coco

  57. It was great speaking to you earlier cousin. I wish I had time to speak to you more often but life just gets in the way. I know you understand that. The pictures are great and the music I love. I have listened to it three times already and I love it. Look forward to seeing you at Christmas.

  58. Lizza Says:
  59. Oh, wow, look at all those LPs! Very comfy-looking headquarters, lots of personality. I like it better than the perfect but sterile ones we see in the magazines.
