Welcome To THE COUCH...Sit on Down and Get Comfy...

Hope you all had a fantastic Labor Day weekend.

Saturday and Sunday were total washouts here thanks to Ernesto.

Sunday was a bit better, but Saturday was a constant rain all day long. Yesterday was pleasant.

I spent the weekend packing. I think I am pretty much done other then kitchen pots and pans and glassware and pictures, which will wait until the last moment.

Nothing definite yet, but I know the group at Inner Workings wants me. Last hurdle is to go to Memphis and meet their clients. As I will be on-site at the clients, we need their buy-off before we can finalize the deal.

It is funny. We live in a pretty well-off community, but whenever you put things out for the garbage men (or is it waste-technicians?), it seems that at least 2-3 people stop to rummage.

Last week some woman stopped and dragged a chest we were throwing out into her station wagon. Now, the chest wasn't real heavy, but she did it all alone!

Yesterday some lady stopped and went through the stuff we had dragged out. She even opened some of the big trash bags to look inside.

All this while wearing her little black dress!

Never ceases to amaze me kiddies...

Sorry to hear about Steve Irwin (you may not be able to get onto the site as it is being hit by so many people trying to get there) passing. Never a fan of his show, but I know many who are.

At least he went from his interaction with an animal (mammal?) and not falling down a flight of stairs or an auto accident.

Now it is reported, there is video of the incident...well, I always knew there would be...

He was filming! DOH!

Can't believe it will ever see the light of day though.

HA! Who am I kidding...

Someone will make a dupe and post it on youtube.com or one of the many video sites now out there...Bank on it.

Incredibly funny video linked from OFFICE TIME WASTERS. You must go over and watch what some fans did to Stephen A. Smith, the ESPN talk show host and analyst during the NBA Draft recently.

Ah...New Yorkers...So kind hearted and sensitive!

It is 7 minutes of them video-taping him and only him and the comments being thrown out at him...Really funny stuff...But I expect nothing else from anything linked over there.

As you can see...I added some more Fun Links to the site here. They will not be for everyone, but there is some great stuff being written and sold by my friends out there and I want all to know of it.

Well, we half lost a big old branch in the backyard on Saturday and now I have to climb up and cut the rest of the way through so I can get rid of it.

Now that is ONE thing I will not miss about owning a home...Except I still do!

Anyone know someone looking for a beautiful, clean, well-kept 3 bedroom with incredibly low taxes for this area, in a town with a blue-ribbon school district in central NJ?

Thanks for sitting on THE COUCH, hope you enjoyed your stay.

  2. I know what you mean about putting stuff on the curb. I have a friend who is very well off and she will never pass a pile of "stuff' without rummaging through it. She has even taken to "rescuing" plants from homes that are for sale.Oh My.

It is sad about Steve Irwin. At least he was doing something he loved right to the last.

And Vince--be careful in that tree.

  4. Ah, the scavengers(which is what Robby and I call ours)....no matter what we put out at the road, more than half of it's gone the next day. It never ceases to amaze me. And, yes, they drive off in their late model Caddies, Beemers, Benzes, etc. Tsk, tsk.

I liked the Crocodile Hunter....glad to see him go doing what he loved best if he had to go now. I'm sure others feel the same way.

New job? Keeping my fingers crossed for you. So are we now thinking my neck of the woods: Memphis? That'd be cool, my friend. Southerners are very friendly, welcoming people. You'll discover a lot of the stereotypical things you used to think'll be unfounded once you're here.
