Welcome To THE COUCH...Sit on Down and Get Comfy...

What I Know, Don't Know, Wish I Knew...A collection of random thoughts and comments....
  • I know I have many friends out in the cyber world, many of whom have added my niece Candice to their prayer list...and for that I am eternally grateful.
  • I know that the commercial breaks in a baseball game always coincide with commercial breaks on TV shows... how the heck does that happen?
  • I wish I knew why Michael Bloomberg, Mayor of NYC, is putting $125 million of his own money into funds to stop smoking nationwide....ummm Mike... $50,000 ...just $50,000 bud..I can give you my address...
  • I know that someday the caller ID on my phone will stop showing "UNKNOWN NAME" and I will feel confident to pick up all calls...yes I know this will happen.
  • I don't know why creditors don't leave voice mails when you don't pick up their calls...I mean, there is no callback information, so why bother calling me?
  • I know that people who lobby for the credit card companies have made it even more difficult for people with legitimate financial situations to get out of those situations and begin anew...sorry, no funny comment here!
  • I know that the real estate market changed for the worst exactly one day before the FOR SALE sign went up on my home...well it sure feels like it anyway!
  • I wish I knew why there is a compelling reason to photograph George O'Dowd sweeping the streets of New York and also, how can this 45-year old man continue to call himself Boy George?...c'mon...do you really like people to call you that now that you are bald, and dumpy?
  • I totally know that I am not "Preapproved" for up to $15,000.00 on a credit card...by one of the companies I owe money to...yet they keep sending me mail telling me so.
  • I don't know why Michelle Wie, the 16-year old golfer, feels it is necessary to compete on the Men's PGA Tour when she can only compete on the LPGA Tour through sponsorship exemptions...Hey Michelle...get your diploma..play against the women and maybe win a few tournaments before you try to play against the men.
  • I do know that a man can't compete on the LPGA circuit...and that doesn't seem fair if women are allowed to play on the PGA Tour.
  • I wish I knew less about Brittany Spears & K-Fed (Oh PULEEZE, it is Kevin - there ain't no ganstas named Kevin...sorry!) and Denise Richardson & Charlie Sheen and Katie Holmes & Tom Cruise and all of these other people who have a talent but insist on acting like they are more then just that talent.
  • I do know that the creator's of youtube.com ( Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim) are freaking geniuses. They looked around...realized that the American public love to be voyeurs and came up with a way to capitalize on that insatiable desire the public has to watch the "train-wrecks" or to make fools of ourselves and share it with millions of strangers.
  • I wish I knew why people actually come here to read the rantings of a 52-year old, unemployed, lunatic...OH right .. y'all like to watch train wrecks..we already established that!
  • I do know that I could make a success of a deli/prepared food store somewhere close to the vacation spots in North or South Carolina, and that someday soon a benefactor will arise and join me as a "money-partner" ...if I don't know this one, my brain could explode!
  • Finally, for today (OK...hold down the applause.. no one tied you down to the couch to make you stay here!) I wish I knew if this billboard was real or fake... but either way...it made me smile on this dark, cloudy, rainy Tuesday (oh and the weather ain't so great either! - LOL)...poorly endowed...man that kills me to no end...bet that hurt ole Stevie worst then all the rest of it!
Thanks for sitting on THE COUCH, hope you enjoyed your stay.

Remember .. Nets For Malaria - UNFoundation.org/malaria - find the big SI's Nothing But Net logo ... Or call 202.887.9040. Every cent goes to buying nets to place over the beds of children in Africa to stomp out Malaria. PLEASE HELP.

Keep that spark of insanity kids...It helps keep you an individual.

And a tidbit back for you --Kevin Barry got shelled in his first start for the Braves last week. But then again--Braves are struggling overall --oh the agony.

  6. K-Fed? Sounds like a brand of dogfood ... I'm glad I'm not the only one tired of the over-exposure of those celebs who think their lives are somehow more remarkable than the average person on the street.

  8. Great tidbits. And, that billboard is priceless. It looks pretty real to me.

  9. Good morning Vince,

Don't you just love the billboard. When my ex-husband left me for "the love of his life", which by the way, she has now kicked him to the curb, he's unemployeed, because he was found guilty of stalking, and living with Momma, I thought about doing the exact same thing. Didn't have the $$$ to do, but thought about it!!! :-) So, I just went to a website, and put his cheating ass in there... woooooo I always remember what my Dad told me "What goes around comes around". No truer words have ever been spoken.

Still praying for your niece. She is such a beautiful child. Still praying for you too. Things will get better, just remember that you have a mountain of friends who are praying for you.

    Love you!

  12. The billboard was classic, that looks like it's in the city. We'd have to check that one out.

I wish I knew why people actually come here to read the rantings of a 52-year old, unemployed, lunatic...OH right .. y'all like to watch train wrecks..we already established that!

Well hun, we come here because your rants are very interesting. You make the obvious funny, and the not so obvious you make sure to point it out. Sometimes we need to feel like we connect with someone, and that someone else has the same point of view as we do. We don't vocalize our opinions, but you have a manner of bringing them to the open.

Well, i'm off---in more ways than one.

  13. Robs- yes billboard is priceless...I laughed so hard..thanks to dixiechick for sending

Turn- Thanks for the update on K. Barry ..hope his next outing is more solid

Mgnolia - My initial thought is somewhere on the main road that leads to Hilton head.. you know all those Yankees going on vacation and stopping to pick up a tray of lasagna, or some fresh raviolis...or even some nice NY style sandwiches...

    Angell - trying ... I am trying....

Robs- YEAH BABY - I have my backer...

Diana - thanks... yeah I am glad that I can bring a smile occassionally...
