Welcome To THE COUCH...Sit on Down and Get Comfy...

I will not be posting tomorrow as I am off to Kentucky for the American Idol concert...
My friends have made this possible and I thank them all...

OK... I want you all to line up behind me on the left if - as I did - you truly believed JonBenet's parents had something to do with her death. It seems we were all mistaken.

A perfect example of why, in this country you should always be presumed innocent and be given a fair trial.

Unfortunately, so many of these high profile crimes are now tried in the press and not in court rooms. This is a perfect example of that.
So, now, John Karr (above center) has been arrested in Bangkok, Thailand and is on his way back to the US. He claims it was an accident, committed during his attempted kidnapping of Jon Benet.

The story is pretty bizarre if you ask me and I am hoping they can prove this case based upon the DNA samples they found under the girl's fingernails.

I, for one, am sorry that Patty Ramsey died before this arrest happened, but according to sources, Karr had contacted Ramsey prior to her death.

Another twist to this whole story is that Karr's ex-wife claims he was with her in
Alabama when the crime occurred and that Karr did a lot of reading on this case and the case of Polly Klaas, who was abducted from her home in 1993.

Time will tell boys and girls, but I do hope that we all sit back in the future and not immediately assume...

Because we all know what happens when you assume (ass-u-me).

I also see a multi-million dollar lawsuit happening between John Ramsey and the city of Boulder, the police of Boulder and the DA's office...

OH boy...That will be fun, fun, fun!

The World Aquarium in St. Louis is putting on an exhibit that runs from next week through September 5th that they hope makes the Guinness Book Of World Records.

It seems they have collected 10 two-headed snakes and turtles and believe it will be largest exhibit of it's kind.
Here is one of the stars of the show...We, a two-headed albino snake. Get me a plane ticket...NOW!

Today is the opening round of the PGA Championship and for only the second time ever Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson will be paired. These two superstars are at the top of the game of golf and it should make for some interesting TV viewing...

They are so unalike it is not funny.
Tiger
is all business...Phil is this "happy-go-lucky" kind of guy.
Tiger is ripped, Phil likes to rip open potato chip bags.
Tiger has a beautiful young wife - ummm, well so does Phil, so they aren't that different there...

OK Kiddies... Time for more
Weird News from Around The World....

Please keep your hands and feet inside the ride at all times and
no standing while the ride is in motion:
  • Despite education campaigns by women's groups, about one-fourth of girls in Cameroon still undergo ritual "breast-ironing" at puberty as their families attempt to squash their developing bosoms to make them sexually unattractive to boys and reduce their temptation to marry. The most popular "ironing" instrument is a heated wooden pestle, mashed painfully against the chest. Some girls are supportive, however, like the one who told BBC News in June that she just "wanted to (stay in) school like other girls who had no breasts." [BBC News, 6-23-06] I looked at this for a long time and I gotta tell you...I just can't come up with something funny to add....
  • The tattoo-removal business is booming, according to a May Fox News report that highlights dissatisfaction with formerly trendy Chinese-language tats that were often either mistranslated as nonsense ("blood and guts" translated as "blood and intestines") or were actually jokes pulled on people too cool for their own good (such as Chinese words for "gullible white boy"). A removal service in Beverly Hills, CA., said it takes off at least seven Asian tattoos a week. [Fox News, 5-9-06] All along I knew that people were being taken in with these tattoos...I mean, unless I have a good friend who speaks and reads the language, make it English for my tat.
  • On July 18 (five days after Israel began its retaliatory assault on Hezbollah), swimmer Hilary Bramwill, 30, was picked up by rescuers a mile off a New York beach, despite her insistence that she needed to get to Israel. [New York Daily News, 7-19-06] OK Hilary...You go 3,800 miles straight out, make a right at the big rock and keep going straight ahead.
and finally for this week:
  • A veteran Scotland Yard anti-terror detective was arrested in Trafalgar Square in London in July, where he said he was videoing al-Qaida suspects, but according to police, he was merely shooting "upskirt" video of women. [The Mirror (London), 7-21-06] "No really, I saw what looked to be a bomb and I wanted video evidence before I took her into custody."
Thanks for sitting on THE COUCH, hope you enjoyed your stay.

  2. And we think WE have problems ...? Do we blame a full moon, or is it something in the water?

  3. wooooooooooooooooooooooo Snugglebritches... You are getting to go.... woooooooooooooooooo I'm so excited for you! You are going to have the time of your life. Can't wait to get your re-cap!

I'm first in line behind you regarding the assumption that either or both John and Patsy Ramsey had something to do with the death of their beautiful child Jon Benet. I thought, how can a parent kill their own child. Then, I am guilty of assuming that the brother had something to do with it. But you know as well as I do that the press had a lot to do with the fact that we assumed they did it.

    "Breast Ironing"... what?????

My 2 tatoos... no words only a heart and a butterfly... don't think I will be having them removed anytime soon.

I refuse to comment on Hilary and the Upskirting Photo Shooter...

  7. Hmmm-what part creeps me out the most---serial child abuser confessing to a crime he may not have committed just to maybe pretend he did---OR--a society in which women are forced to mutilate themselves and their sexuality. I'll take the latter.

  9. I'm relieved that the true killer was outed. How sad that Patsy Ramsey had to die at a time when the world was still convicting her. I'm sure I was in line with the others that thought the parents did it. I can't remember. But I wouldn't put it past me. I know I remember hoping that they didn't. Anyway, I'm with you, Turn. It's the 21st century, for cryin' outloud. Breast ironing.....WHAAAAAA??????

what else.....Uhhh, gonna pass on the 2-headed stuff. LOL

Wooooooooooooooo!!! Kentucky, meet Bond!!! Have a great time! You have wonderful friends! The best way to thank them is to have the greatest time ever!!! Believe all the hype...It's a great concert!! :) I am so happy for you!

  10. Has *ANYONE* heard from Bond? Has he even made it back from Kentucky yet? I am anxiously awaiting his blog today. I know it will be about the concert. Bond baby... You out there somewhere????? *tapping fingers on desk*

  12. I too, was convinced that the family was involved in the murder. After the newest development, I watched a replay of an investigative series on the case where I learned about the Boulder Police Dept.'s insistence that the parents had to have done it. They were so insistent that they turned away other leads and ignored information & evidence. A new investigative team found the most likely suspect, uncovered his footprints in the basement, trends in burglaries in the town, and a similar crime a few weeks later that got interrupted by that child's mother. Additionally, there was a "suicide" where this man supposedly killed himself after speculation was raised. These investigators believe that there was more than one person involved in killing JonBenet without doubt. Perhaps Kerr was involved and maybe he's just a freak who wants to confess to the crime for notoriety. But I want to be careful of assuming he's guilty now, because the media had me convinced that the Ramseys had killed her before. A good reminder of how powerful the media is and how we need to be vigilant about possible skewing of reports we receive.

  13. You know.. I am now not sure that this wack-a-doo is truly the killer and will not be until or unless they find some links with the DNA evidence they have found...
