So, Dancing With The Stars has begun again and I really should not be giving it publicity since I know it takes some live ears away from MOTC, but as our resident Dance Guru, TRAVIS from "Trav's Thoughts" has already stated, this is a real good cast.

There aren't any real unlikeables (at least for me) as there have been in seasons past. This DJ guy, who the heck is he anyway? And who knew a wrestler could be so darn agile and light on their feet?

But I am really here just to tell you that the aforementioned Travis is doing his two posts a week on the show. First giving his opinion of what happened on the dance floor and also from the judges. He is not shy to poo-poo their scores and comments.

Then he gives you some insight into what happened during the results show and searches the internet for videos in case you did not see the dancing.

Learned how to get a ton of phone calls during MOTC. Bring on a 13-year old guitar player and the girls call in! Actually, Matthew Davidson might be 13, but he is very mature and well spoken and I enjoyed our chat. Remember, you can check it out in the archives.

My second guests, Bryan and Ben from the band Grand Marquis were great guys and I am looking forward to seeing them play live again when they do a gig on Sunday in Memphis.

The sun will shine again...the grass will be green, the sky a deep rich blue. The sound of a ball smacking the leather of a glove which emits an aroma of oils that have been rubbed into it to mold it to the hand.

The crack of a bat as it connects perfectly with a ball coming in at 90moph, nothing harder in sports...round ball, round bat,less than 2 seconds to see it, decide what the pitch is, swing, don't swing, a blink of the eye and it is over.

AH the little things in life. They are what make us smile most.

Sure winning a million dollars in the lottery will make you smile, until you start thinking about how you are going to deal with it and all the other worries. Finding the perfect french fry in a restaurant...nirvana.

COUCH SIDE NOTE: I think Dad Vince is correct when he says french fries are the most disposed of food served in restaurants. Ever notice how many people leave many fries on their plate?

Finding something that makes your world a little more comfortable is also a wonderful thing and this weekend I found just that.

Nancy and I had to stop at Walmart for a few items and as we were walking by the shoe area they called to me.

VINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNY

I looked around not knowing who was calling when my eyes fell upon them and I smiled and they smiled back

really, they did!

Normally, I wear my boat shoes around the house or I walk around in socks - this fact causing Mom Joan to wince as she does not like that! - and of course I am never completely comfortable.

I have looked at slippers - house shoes - what do you call them?

Well, these are sort of like crocks (which I do not wear), but they are warm inside, lined in flannel. The soles are a rubber, so they will not wear out quickly and when I slipped my feet into them...I thought of five words.


They are that comfortable.

They made watching Butler and VCU win their games and cause more brackets to reak around the country even more enjoyable.

They made cooking dinner on Saturday more comfortable...HECK-A-DOODLE, they are making sitting here writing this to y'all more comfortable.

The little things in life.... ahhhhhhhhhhh

Along with band members Lisa McKensie (percussion), Ryan Wurtz (guitar) and Chad Boydston (trumpet) they were finalists at this years International Blues Challenge and put on one hell of a show.

With a sound that will hearken back to the Nawlins speak-easy or 1950's Memphis you will fall in love with The Grand Marquis. Swing, jazz, blues, you can call it what you'd like. I just call it great.
