Thank you to my friends who have expressed their support both here, on the phone and in emails since yesterday and even before. It means so much to know you have friends out there that care.
And to my parents, for your love and your offer...one can never be as lucky as Rich, Lynn and I are to have you both...

BUT... I am moving on and need to lighten this thing up. It's purpose was never to become a pity party, but to entertain myself...Along the way I guess I have found a small audience and that is so pleasing...

Let's call this posting a public service announcement...

How many providers do you have to allow you to access the internet? With the telcoms moving into this arena we could see some changes to our access to the internet. There are rumors they would make deals with large sites to give those sites preferential treatment.

What does this mean? Well you know that tiny site you love to go to everyday...? Maybe you would not be able to access it as easily, since your provider would want to feature a larger competing site.

You are a member of a group that chats about American Idol, lets say...you love going to fuzzybunnybelly.com or to taylorhicksfansite.com - but what if your provider decided those sites were not part of their "select" sites and you could only go to williamhung.net? OK, a silly example, but you follow, I hope.

What if your provider set up their service in a tiered fashion like cable TV... and you could only afford to only get the basic package. On that package you could not access espn.com, and the only sports site is bubbastiddlywinks.com ... hummm not too exciting is it?

Speaking of videos...did you see the meltdown by the manager of the Asheville Tourists (single A ballclub) this week? Have to tell you, this is hysterical, but I am sure he gets at least a 20 game suspension over it. Also, I would like the head of the umpires union for major league baseball to show this to every major league umpire. THIS is how an umpire should handle a situation...NOT by chasing after the guy and arguing. These two umpires just stand there and let him vent. I heard the manager's comment after the game was something to the effect that he could find mannequins in Sears with more life then the umps...guess what ... umps are not there to get into arguments dude...Now this is a video shot by a fan, so you get a different perspective then you got on the sports shows... listen carefully to the boos from the crowd, but even better the music the stadium PA group uses...as he is washing off the plate "You've lost that loving feeling" and as he leaves "Hit the road jack"...well done.
