Feeling better today, but still have this weird inkling in the back of my brain from that unremembered dream…very strange…
So, now comes a cab driver that is ready to testify that he picked up one of the two indicted Duke Lacrosse players a half hour or so before the attack is to of occurred. At the same time, the other dancer is not changing her story. It appears that maybe many jumped to judgment too fast on this one. If they find the attack never happened, the young woman needs to be jailed for false police report. If the attack did happen, those responsible must be jailed for their actions. I just want the truth to come out is all…
Ah, Florida…sunshine, Disney, oceans, sand, oranges and free breast exams???
It seems that a Coconut Grove senior was going door-to-door carrying a black bag, claiming to be a doctor and offering free breast exams. Police arrested Philip Winikoff and booked him with sexually assaulting two =women who accepted his offer and let him into their homes. One of the women became suspicious after she was asked to remove all her clothes and Winikoff began the exam without donning rubber gloves. Well...can you blame this guy... his real job is driving a shuttle bus for an auto dealer. I guess after being the driver he wanted to drive her…
So, Tom and Katie have their new addition home and now Tom can begin his promotional tour for his new movie MI:III. Beautiful baby girl named Suri, which means princess in Hebrew and rose in Persian or Farsi according to Cruise’s publicist…ummmmmmmmmmmmm…OOPS! Professor Hooshang Amirahmadi, director of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Rutgers University begs to differ with the Cruise/Holmes and their publicist. “In Farsi, it means red, like a fiery color but there is no such thing as ‘Suri’ that means ‘red rose’." He added the word could also mean “a party or celebration.”
Avshalom Kor, an expert on the intricacies of the Hebrew language, told Israel’s Army Radio there is a tenuous connection. Kor said ‘Suri’ is a nickname for Sarah as pronounced by Jews from Central Europe. In ancient Hebrew, Sarah is the feminine form of the word for lord.
In India, ‘Suri’ is more likely to be a boy’s name then a girl’s name. It comes from the Sanskrit word for “sun” and is an epithet for the Hindu god Krishna.
But Tom said it means rose or princess… and man, you can’t argue with him…I mean, look, he almost shut down “South Park” and chef left the show and the Scientologists know more than anyone and …what? What? … oh sorry…tell Mr. Cruise I will stop now…
Well, we all know that our relationship with China has been rocky at best and there are many things we need to work on before we can truly begin a relationship with this country. Leave it to the Bush White House to make things more difficult…When Chinese President Hu Jintao visited the White House last week; the announcer said, “ Ladies and gentlemen, the national anthem of the Republic of China, followed by the national anthem of the United States of America.” OK, well that is great except, Hu is from “the People’s Republic of China.”
Well tonight the final 6 take on the “Great American Love Songs” on American Idol. The word on song spoilers has been almost non-existent this week. Can’t even begin to imagine what the list of songs, given to the contestants to choose from, looked like. Mini-rumors have Taylor Hicks either going with “You Are So Beautiful”, the Joe Cocker hit, or with the Ray Charles standard “Georgia On My Mind.” Georgia would be a knockout slam-dunk for Taylor who sings this with his group. The only unfortunate part would be that he only gets to sing a shortened version and not his tremendous complete version.
We’ll be back with our entire review tomorrow… stay tuned kiddies…

Begin today with an update on Joseph, our nephew. He is home and doing well. They need to do another MRI next week to see if the fluid on his brain has dissipated. Then the neurological tests begin to see if he has hearing loss or any other effects of the disease. Strong kid...just like his parents...
Aaron Baddeley finally won a PGA Tour event this past weekend. Not sure who "Badds" is? He is a young golfer who had TV commercials over a year ago when he first joined the tour. Car commercial with a bunch of bikini-clad women in the car with him... I love when they make a star out of someone who had not even sniffed the winners circle. Now it appears he has found religion, so don't expect anymore commercials like that one...Congratulations BADDS... about time dude.
From the "what do you want to be when you grow up" file... Firefighters in Ohio were battling a home blaze when the owner suddenly left the scene. Once the fire was out, firefighters found $700,000 worth of marijuana plants in the basement...I wanna be a firefighter...I wanna be a firefighter...I wanna be a firefighter...I wanna... I wanna...I wanna...
Have you heard the tale of Kyle MacDonald? This is incredible...He is a 26-year-old Canadian who wanted to buy a house last July, but did not have the money to do so. So, like anyone else would do, he looked around his desk and found a red paper clip. He went online and posted at his blog One Red Paper Clip. Based on an old children's game called "Bigger and Better" he offered the paper clip for trade. The paper clip became a pen shaped like a fish, which became a door knob. The door knob was traded for a Coleman stove. That was swapped for a 60-pound 1,000-watt generator. He traded that for a keg of beer and a lighted sign, and that turned into an old snowmobile. He was offered airfare, skiing and meals in Yahk, British Columbia for the old snowmobile. He traded that trip for a 1995 Ford truck. The truck went to a record producer who offered 80 hours of recording in a Toronto studio. That opportunity is one that a singer in Arizona was looking for, so they offered Kyle the use of their bungalow in Phoenix for a year. The saga of the paper clip into a house continues on his site.
OK..I have an old white sock, that has a small hole near the big toe...whattaya give me for it?
Two Duke lacrosse players were arrested this morning after a Grand Jury brought down indictments on both of them yesterday. Names had not been released, nor had the charges. At the same time there is supposedly pictures taken on a camera phone that shows the young woman leaving the party drunk, but unmolested. More to come on this sorrid affair...
All the news that you really did not care about... all told on the BIG LEATHER COUCH...What more can you ask for????
Tonight the 7 sing from the Rod Stewart's American Standards Albums. No real song spoilers out there...but Ace has to be on the edge this week. Chris might also struggle a bit as the contestants were told they would not be able to rearrange the music. Then again, he could do a marvelous job. Looking forward to seeing Taylor belt it out. Saturday Night Live did a parody of Taylor this weekend. You know you are making an impact if they are lampooning you. You can find that skit...here.

I know I said Bucky was going home last night, but as the day wore on the more I felt it was time to send Ace packing. He can not be long for this competition.
Let me say, Bucky is a class act and handled the elimination with class and dignity. Watch the shelves in your local music stores... you will see a Bucky Covington CD out there before long.
Still trying to figure out why Simon was not even semi-constructive to Taylor... Well other then the fact he wants another someone to win...
So, going to this year's Kentucky Derby? If so, bring some extra cash... A new version of the Mint Julep will be sold... Now get this... It is concocted from the state's finest bourbons, mint from Morocco, ice from the Arctic Circle and sugar from the South Pacific... All served up in a gold-plated cup with a silver straw... Hey Bar-Keep... get me 5 of those! Well, I could get 5 if I had $5,000.00... yes kiddies a Grand for a drink... yikes!
Italian porn star and former Parliment member Cicciolina has offered herself to Osama bin Laden stating "He can have me in exchange for the end to his tyranny. My breasts have only helped people, while bin Laden has killed thousands of innocent victims." No official word yet, but my sources tell me that bin ole boy is hiking down the mountains of Pakistan as we speak...
So the attorneys for the Duke lacrosse players say that the DNA tests have come back and that no DNA material from any of the players was found...
The DA told an audience at North Carolina Central University (where the young lady was enrolled) that even without DNA evidence, he was going to continue to prosecute...
A sign that the world will continue to revolve around the sun... Paris Hilton, has bashed reports that she was to play Mother Teresa in a movie. (wiping brow... the pressure of seeing that was too much for me) "I love Mother Teresa, but I don't think we look alike" See kids.... This is why I always argue when people call her dumb... She is smart enough to see that there are no similarities between Mother Teresa and herself! DOH!
Little plug for one of my favorite time killing sites... The San Antonio News-Express site called FAVORITE OFFICE TIME WASTERS. There you will find links to some of the coolest sites on the internet. Hey... would you rather be working or surfing the web checking out cool things? Look for the link to the video of Chris Bliss juggling. It is amazing. (note... lower the volume on your computer so you do not get yelled at by office mates, but keep it so you can hear it).

Sound of a clock...
The beginning of another episode of 24. Jack Bauer (played by Keifer Sutherland) and CTU fighting the forces of evil and protecting the USA.
This season has been incredibly exciting and every week, they throw a curveball at us. President Logan, the numbskull? Well, actually he is a calculating megalomaniac who is only concerned with his place in history, and if that means putting biological weapons in the hands of a madman, so that the President can look good when he foils the plot...so be it.
Each Monday, I clear my schedule and sit down to be enthralled by this show. Never seen it? Well, in case you do not know, the show is shot in real time. The actors never get in a car and make a 90-minute drive in 3 minutes. It takes them 90 minutes. So, if they start the drive at the start of one show, they do not arrive until the middle of the show the following week.
OK, purists will state examples of times that the clock seems to have slowed down or speeded up...but for the most part they keep it real.
There are characters to hate (this season, Lynn (played by Sean Astin of Rudy fame). Characters who are always there and can make you angry or sad or happy or confused (Chloe played by Mary Lynn Rajskub).
This is one of those that is a DO NOT MISS.... and HEY, if you have never seen it and feel like you can't start up in the middle, the first 4 seasons are out on DVD and you should try them out.
More stuff to ponder:
A new poll by Time Magazine and The Oprah Winfrey Show reveals 65% of the nation believes that High School dropouts should be denied the right to get a drivers license. Now, I can see the logic they are using here, but if these people can not get to Mickey D's or Aeropostale to work, then what else will they be doing?
These lacrosse players at Duke University have really put themselves in a bind here. Losing an entire season must hurt. Not as much as the hurt the young woman received that evening if you believe the reports. I am not judging either way until the DNA testing is complete. Now if all the lacrosse players are found to not have been involved, do they then try and figure out whom else was in the house and test them? Is that possible? Now there is talk of "photographic evidence" that this woman came to the party bruised and beaten. This is going to take a while to get itself straightened out me thinks...
This one cracked me up in a big way. Seems there is a big rivalry beginning between two Kiss Tribute Bands in Las Vegas. One of the bands, led by Joey Fatale is called MiniKiss. The other is led by their former drummer Tim Loomis and is named Tiny Kiss. Interesting names you say? Well they both have those names because the members of both bands are dwarfs.
It appears the members of MiniKiss tried to sneak into a performance by Tiny Kiss so they could have a fight. Fortunately the bouncers (not known if they are also dwarfs) noticed them and had them removed from the building. Loomis insists the trouble began when he was with MiniKiss and started getting more women then Fatale and he was forced to leave to form his own band. Tiny Kiss can be seen at The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
Loomis is no stranger to these types of incidents. In 2004 he waged a war with Nelson De la Rosa, after replacing him as Mets pitcher Pedro Martinez' good luck charm.
Only in America....
