Jack & Jorma Giving It Their All
Busy week after Nancy and I spent last weekend down in Tampa with 23 of my fraternity brothers and their brides...
Nancy has been traveling the last three weeks and last night she got home!
This week, I present Hot Tuna...
Hot Tuna began during a hiatus in Jefferson Airplane's touring schedule in early 1969 while Grace Slick was undergoing recovery from throat node surgery that had left her unable to perform. Jorma Kaukonen, Jack Casady, Paul Kantner, and new drummer Joey Covington played several shows around San Francisco including the Airplane's original club, The Matrix before Jefferson Airplane returned to performing in April to support the album Volunteers.
The base of the band is Jorma and Jack and so many others have joined them on stage and in the studio over the years. Hot Tuna records and appears as either an acoustic act or an electric act.
Here are some of those who have played in Hot Tuna with Jorma and Jack over the years:

My favorite Hot Tuna is the acoustic version. I have seen the band about 10 times over the years and have always enjoyed Jorma and Jack..alone on stage just making incredible music.
Here are five that show you the skills of these two gentlemen...
HAVE A GRAND WEEKEND
ENJOY.....
I usually like my tuna cold on toast.
Eh, that was kinda lame. I'm having an off day.

Yeah...that's some good stuff right there.
I often hear completely new-to-me music when I'm over here for your sets. This is another occasion where I'd never heard Hot Tuna before - really enjoyed them!
I've not been around for a while, so I just wanted to stop in and say hi! I hope you're doing well. :)
Talkin' my lingo. Buddy....talkin' my lingo.
Really good stuff. Some of it almost reminds me of Chet Atkins or even a little Randy Scruggs. Scruggs' "Crown of Jewels" album is something special. Thanks for sharing some great tunes. I cold listen to this all night.
