Tuneage Tutelage - The Allman Brothers - Wrap Up

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Friday, October 03, 2008 18 Of Your Sparks

Want to start off by sending some Birthday wishes out today. Our most excellent friend LeeLee is celebrating her 50th today. Stop by and wish her well. She is traveling and spending her birthday with family, which is real cool, but it will be even cooler if she has all sorts of birthday wishes when she checks in. She is a big music fan and I thought this cake was appropriate for her.

Second up, this weekend the funny, sarcastic Sparky Duck celebrates a birthday and even gets to see Bruce Springsteen to celebrate. Head over and give him a quack and wish his Oregon Ducks well as they take on USC on Saturday! What other kind of cake would you give a duck?

Finally, tell Anndi Happy Birthday as she celebrates today.

Let 'em know Bond sent ya!

Gee, I have received this wonderful honor yesterday from one of our newest friends, DIANNE. I really need to arrange my awards again (hell I need to bring out the new template, but I have not had the time to tweak it)...Thank you Dianne..she said some nice words also..."I pass the Arte‘y Pico on to BOND. One of my newest friends. He truly should be a music professor, a guru of the arts. He does his homework; he presents eclectic choices in music plus all the other things his “couch” offers up."

Tuesday Treats

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Tuesday, November 13, 2007 15 Of Your Sparks

Our dear friend MIMI handed us this award yesterday
and it tickled our belly like a bowl full of jelly...
THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS AWARD

This award is for those who talk about and show the spirit of Christmas in their blogs. What is the Spirit of Christmas you ask? Quite simply it is those that have a generous and giving nature. Those who care about others. Those who have a kind word to say or a broad shoulder to lean on in the times that others need that. Those who display the "Spirit of Christmas".

We lovingly hand it to:

ANNDI'S LUGGAGE She will tell you she does not post often, but when she does bring along the tissues...

JULIE'S JEWELS & JUNQUE Julie has a heart as big as all outdoors and deserves this

PHILLY TRANSPLANT Yeah, the Spark-man is brutally honest, can be caustic at times and has a downright dislike for my glorious Yankees, but down deep...he has a heart of gold...(Sorry to let them all know Sparky!)

OK, to get your code you need to go HERE
Iffen youze wants to hand it out ta odders, be our guest......

OK, we are kind of in a fuzz here kiddies...Sitting here at 11:00 pm with nothing to say...
HA! You with nothing to say..now THAT"S a scream
Now you be nice...even he has brain cramps from time to time
BRAIN CRAMPS?!? That would mean he has a brain!

Anyway..enough of them..but really...Nothing is coming to mind today...maybe cause we paid bills tonight and that always hurts our brain
AGAIN..that would mean you actually had one...
Will YOU hush up

Well, guess we can just leave it at that...Or we can talk Snake house again..
LOL...no one like snakes...Well, we do but when they are behind glass...

OOO OOOO except these two women had these black snakes out and you could touch them which was cool...until the one woman said...and we kid you not...
"Well we are just trainers learning how to handle them"
Which way is the door?

The pandas were also way cool..eating all that bamboo...wearing red hoodies...

Well, no not the real ones...Just the little stuffed ones...

Excellent show tonight on the Radio happy Hour...
Come join us in the chat room and listen in...

We are going BIG TIME KIDDIES!

Coming up this week on DR. BLOGSTEIN'S RADIO HAPPY HOUR: (Live on Tuesday November 13th at 9PM ET and forever archived at BlogTalkRadio.)

Academy Award winning actress and Hollywood Legend Shirley MacLaine will class up the Radio Happy Hour to discuss her new book Sage-ing While Age-ing.

We'll get her "out there" views on extra-terrestrial life, alternative medicine and find out once and for all if she slept with any of the members of the famed Rat Pack. MacLaine will also reveal what, if anything, would make her happier.

Also this week, Dr. Blogstein will have a follow up on the argument he had on last week's show with Dangerous Lee regarding the documentary "Zeitgeist". Dr. B has now seen the film and will give his review.

All that plus, Jane returns as co-host, SUPREME COMMANDER OF THE CYBERWAVES Vinny Bond drags his Big Leather Couch into the Radio Happy Hour Lounge and chats live with the listeners, your calls at 646-652-4804, and one lucky caller will play a rousing game of "NAME OR DRUG" for a chance to win fabulous prizes.

Join us live every Tuesday night at 9PM ET. The Radio Happy Hour Lounge--a live chat room during show time--is a whole new reason to make sure you listen live! It’s the show within the show!

The 108 Meme

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Wednesday, July 18, 2007 23 Of Your Sparks

The incomparable THE 108 has tagged us with a MEME of her own design. It is actually a pretty interesting MEME and deserves to be circulated...

[couchdivider.gif]

Here is what The 108 has asked:

You MUST post five links to posts we have written. Post your five links and then tag five other people. At least TWO of the people you tag must be newer acquaintances so that you get to know each other better.... and don't forget to read the archive posts and leave comments!

Link 1 must be about family.
Link 2 must be about friends.
Link 3 must be about yourself, who you are... what you're all about...
Link 4 must be about something you love
Link 5 can be anything you choose.

I think this is a great way to circulate some of the great older posts everyone had written, return to a few great places in our memories and also learn a little something about ourselves and each other that we may not know.

[couchdivider.gif]

So, with the rules set....away we go.....

LINK 1: OUR "FAMILY POST". We have done posts about individual members of our family. Mom and dad, Matt, my niece, and other, but this is the one that means the most to me.

LINK 2: OUR "FRIENDS POST". You need to scroll past the review of American Idol to read the post of the best weekend we have spent with friends in like...FOREVER!

LINK 3: OUR "ABOUT US" POST. This one could have probably fit into the Family post too in some ways, but it fits this category we think.

LINK 4: OUR "SOMETHING WE LOVE" POST. Guess one of these had to be a Matinee...and this is the one. It tells the story of something I love...
There are many Matinee's (and if you have not read them all, they are listed near the bottom of the right side-bar), but after all the writing...this is the story that came from our depths.
We found it funny that so many comments all stated similar thoughts...so all y'all might want to read them too!

LINK 5: POST OF OUR CHOOSING. Well, if this Meme is to let you get to know us better, then this one should be included.

[couchdivider.gif]

Now we have to tag five people and TWO of them have to be recent acquaintances....so:

1) AISBY - she has been a frequent visitor to THE COUCH recently, and has left some wonderful comments. We linked her over on our favs on Monday, so today we tag her so that we can get to know her better.

2) TURNBABY - she is a wicked wicked lady with a heart of gold. (and will be doing her first BlogTalk Radio show this Sunday. Check out her blog for the info.

3) TRAVIS: my partner "Hottie", Travis is a magnificent writer, has a wealth of knowledge on so many subjects and is one of those friends we have met in the last year and a half who has impacted our life in so many wonderful ways. STARRLIGHT TAGGED HIM FIRST! DAMN HER!

3) MAGGIE: she writes about her job, her life and throws in short stories...she can do this one for lil ole me!

4) SPARKY DUCK: Sparky is fairly new to THE COUCH, and he is wickedly funny. There are things we would like to learn and this seems a good way to learn some more. YEAH THAT'S RIGHT...STARRLIGHT GOT TO HIM FIRST...

4) LAYLA: Another newer visitor to THE COUCH, we hope she partakes in this little adventure.

5) MIMI: Well, how can we call this a true Meme until the Queen Of The Meme's actually does it???
