Not Wordless...

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Thursday, September 23, 2010 14 Of Your Sparks

Going to try this again as Blogger decided not to post it yesterday and I was in meetings all day and never noticed...

A look at the headlines around the globe...

Fla. dad sorry for storming school bus, threats
His daughter was harassed on the bus and to stop it, dad went onto the bus and screamed at young teeagers. I get the wanting to protect your child, but by becoming a child himself, the father ended up causing himself more trouble.  Contact the school..contact the police...just do not stoop down and play in the mud...especially when you are an adult and the others are kids.

Al-Qaida claims kidnapping of 5 French in Niger
French? Ummm...does anyone really care, I mean they are French!

Republicans block bill to lift military gay ban
They did try to pass a vote to allow gays in the men's rooms where they work though...tap tap tap

Japan officials delay Paris Hilton from entering
But North Korea wants her to visit soon

Girl posts public birthday party invite on Facebook, gets 21,000 replies
I never get invited to nuthin I say nuthin'

Study: Teacher bonuses fail to boost test scores
But the teacher's parking lot is now filled with more luxury cars

Ga. execution delayed after suicide attempt
Wait? You telling me this guy wanted to commit suicide and they stopped him...JUST SO they could give him a lethal injection??? Someone PLEASE tell me what is wrong with this picture

OK, I know...I really stink at this stuff, but I will continue trying until I get it correct...or until the remaining 5 readers get bored and leave with the rest of those who have already...

WOOOO...Please do me a favor, and head over to wish JULIE of "Julie's Jewels & Junque a most wonderful BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!

Julie is a wonderful friend and she brings joy into the lives of those she meets.

She also likes MILK DUDS! more than anyone I know...

Also, head over to my niece's blog (though she rarely posts there anymore), and wish her a big old HAPPY BIRTHDAY! She is AMELIA from "Mad Moons & Tarnished Spoons" fame...

Happy Birthday AMELIA!!!

Friendship is that road we travel that is, all at once, paved with new blacktop, pockmarked with small depressions, littered with garbage left behind by past relationships, destroyed by large craters left behind by those who have passed this way...and finally, at times, completely unrecognizable as a road and more closely resembling a forgotten trial of rocks and fallen limbs.

Yet, as humans we are drawn to friends. those we have known for so many years, those we have met in recent years, those who have just entered our lives and - in the 21st Century, those we have never met before and only know from words on a computer screen.

About 3 years ago, I became a member of a large group of fans of one Mr. Taylor Hicks from the show American Idol. As many of you know, this was the beginning of my blogging life, as I wrote - first on the AI site, and then here - weekly reviews of the shows and the contestants. Think Travis with DWTS only without the flowing literary style.

That experience brought me to all y'all here on blogger. Many people I feel like I am close to, but whom I have never met. As I work on the invite list for my wedding, I am going back and forth between family (only close relatives this time), and friends (real life and cyber life) and trying to decide who goes on the list.

I honestly thought about just saying if y'all want to come let me know and I will send an invite!

You see, this is more a party than it is a 'wedding ceremony'. Both Nancy and I have done the big thing and we just want to enjoy our guests this time.

There are some of my AI friends who I am still very close to and I am hopeful to be able to include as many of them as possible. Then there are some who I was very close to and over the years, that closeness has disappeared into one of those pockmarked craters I mentioned above.

I think about why it has happened and it confuses me. I try not to discuss the disagreements, even when they allude to it constantly when they write posts or emails. I sit and wonder "Should I still invite them?"...because I would like the relationship to be better, I really would. But I am also not going to allow someone to come to the party and make me wish they were not there.

A year and a half ago I had a 'disagreement' with someone on the web over a silly bet. I was furious at the person for a long time, because I felt like I was disrespected by them. Then, things happened in their life and I wanted to accept them as a friend because it made the most sense.

With little fanfare, we were able to put aside our differences from that one bet and now I consider this gentleman a friend.

I am not perfect. I am not the perfect friend. I do things that a good friend should not at times. I do believe I am a loyal friend and I will go out of my way to assist a friend in need.

But I am also not a person to take a slap lightly. If I bring up a point and people want to disagree, that is great.

It is when they refuse to accept my side of the situation seriously, because they are always in the right, well then, I seriously consider walking away from it all.

A wonderful Wednesday Ramble...

It does not settle whether I invite this person or not...but it gives me something to contemplate...I do know that your life can move forward without your having to close the doors of your past...IF YOU WANT. It seems some think they are mutually exclusive...I am not one of those.

Words For Wednesday - Hollow

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Wednesday, July 25, 2007 18 Of Your Sparks

It is dark in the room. Not even a sliver of light from below the door. Not a sound to be heard except the sound of the blood pumping through his veins. That pounding sound inside his head, reminding him that he is still alive, even as his surroundings tells him differently. So hollow.

He sits still, not feeling the desire to move in the tiny room he lives. In the total darkness, once, he had stretched out his arms and could touch each of the four walls from where he sat...so close...and his arms folded quickly and he had not moved since.

His ears reaching out for a sound other than the pounding, or worse yet, his own breathing. The reminders that he is in this space and the nightmare shall not end. If the beating stopped, if the breathing sounds stopped would he feel more content. Would the hollowness be filled?

Would the sounds that now make him cringe, when gone, be missed?
Would the hollowness ebb?

Because if they gave him one final wish, and he did ask for another chance, would they actually grant such a thing? Or would they just shake their head slowly and say that second chances were not the things of wishes?

As he sits, silently, motionlessly and begins to feel the hollowness surround him.
Sitting still as it begins to envelop him and he waits for it to complete it's mission.

Proof positive we wrote back in the "olden" days -
and were pretty freakin' dark then too...

Actually we found some from way back in HS...and song lyrics too!
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Finally...we had a hankering for something last night and then it hit us...
Stevie Ray & and Double Trouble.

This is "EMPTY ARMS", originally recorded on the 1985 album "SOUL TO SOUL"
It includes bassist Tommy Shannon and drummer Chris Layton.

HOT GUITAR

Your gonna miss me little darlin', the day that I'm gone
Your gonna miss me little baby, the day that I'm gone

Cause I'm leavin' in the mornin', won't be back at all

You have run me ragged baby, your own fault your on your own

You have run me ragged baby, your own fault your on your own

You didn't want me no way baby, 'till that other man was gone

You can try to get me back baby, with all your tricks and charms

You can try to get me back baby, with all your tricks and charms

But when all your games are over, you'll be left with empty arms

Low down and dead, and all alone

Cool Cat Music

Well? I said WELL?
Huh, what?

Where have you been?
Would you believe we were just depressed after the Sopranos ended? Not because we were unhappy, but because we will miss it...
We really did like the ending...David Chase had left it to our imagination before and he did it again...we came into the show (BOOM) in the middle of one day in the life of the Soprano's...we left (BOOM) right in the middle of one day in the life of the Soprano's...clean, simple, complete for me...

Ummmmm like that even came close to answering our question...
Would you believe we were holding a social experiment to see if anyone missed us?

Well, do you really want to go there as only 4 people even noticed?
hummm you have a point…WAIT!...we just checked our email and more people than that noticed..

So, was it a "Social Experiment?"
Well...ummm, no...it wasn't...

That is what I thought...so...?
Would you believe that I had been kidnapped by a group of Paris Hilton lovers who were sick and tired of my snarky comments about her?

Oh Puuuuulllleazzzze....you are pulling at straws now...
OK, we were traveling on business...

You have done that before and were still around...LOOK at this place, it is a mess and seems neglected...you know that this is a two man operation..
Yes, yes, you are correct...but we have not posted before...

Maybe one day, never two without making a big announcement --- SOUND THE TRUMPETS, HE IS TO MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT..
Now, that really isn't fair is it?

If it quacks and walks and looks like a duck...
OK, moving on...

OK, this is getting indulgent now...
Probably, but maybe they won't notice...

Your guests are very intelligent people OF COURSE they will notice...
sheesh...yeah, we know that...you sure are pretty intelligent too...

Why thank you...now wait a minute... you still have not told me why...
OK OK OK...don't hurt me

I wasn't planning on it...
I just thought, ya know, we could play it up a little and we could fight you off for hours and then get all these comments because we were so brave...

But you just began to give in like a little wimp "doooooooooooon't hurt me...wa wa wa"
Well we were going to lull you into...

OK, stop...where have you been...?
Look, nothing crazy, we were traveling and then well our brain needed a rest...

Reading this, it probably still does...
HEY, you are a part of this too you know...

And that's it??? Nothing dramatic???
Hey, I tried dramatic earlier and you poo-pooed it

Poo-pooed?
Hey, our friend Anndi uses it, we can too...Well, the other thing some might want to know is that Monday Matinee is taking a rest for the summer...we need the time to concentrate on something else...

Are we done with this?
Yeah, probably...getting sort of weird letting them listen in to our conversation...have we ever done this before?

OK, I am outta here....you are out of control...
Wait...can you give me a lift?

Tony Parker, he of the San Antonio Spurs is living la dolce vita right now...

In the first two games he has played a huge part in the San Antonio wins in the NBA Finals...

On July 7th he marries Eva Longoria, she of "Desperate Housewives" fame, in a big-a$$ blowout in France...YES, BIG-A$$ ...

Reports are the Wedding Cake is costing them $15,000.00

A lot of money for sure...but get this kiddies, they looked and looked and scouring the "Le Jaune Pages" for someone who could bake a Wedding Cake...Lo and behold, there was not one in the whole dang country, so it is being baked in California.

Now, to get it all the way over there across the ocean to Gay Paree they have purchased a first-class ticket for the cake. No self-respecting Wedding Cake would fly all alone to a foreign country so a staff member from Beverly Hills chef Sam Godfrey's staff will fly escort with the Wedding Cake. The two first-class tickets will cost over $20,000.00!

Almost $40,000.00 for the Wedding Cake...

HEY that takes a big bite out of the $2.5-million budget!

Yeah, like that is gonna be the limit! WOOOOOO

Where did I put my tux?

[couchdivider.gif]

Damn...need to get some WD40 for the upstairs ceiling fan...it is squeaking...

[couchdivider.gif]

End of the third quarter of game 3 of the NBA Finals...San Antonio 55 Cleveland 50...Might not go the 6 games we predicted...

[couchdivider.gif]

OH, when mom and dad came they dropped off copies of a bunch of pictures they had of Matt over the years including the pictures of his trip with gee-ma and gee-pa to DisneyWorld when he was 3.5 years old. That was a nice surprise...KISSES MOM AND DAD!

[couchdivider.gif]

OK, will you wrap it up now...you are blabbering...
OK, well since we hadn't posted we thought we would just thrown out some random thoughts...

You should have thrown them out all right...
