DROPLETS Of Thoughts

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Monday, August 13, 2007 32 Of Your Sparks

Holy crap folks...this REVIEW just DROPPED in on THE COUCH and many of his points about the design were things we have been working on for the new COUCH - hopefully to be unveiled just after Labor Day.

Thank you Jack!

Good Monday...

Hope your weekend brought a DROP of sunlight into your life....

Mine? Well, if having one of your molars crack in half as you are flossing and it DROPS into your hand is a good weekend, well then, mine was terrific, fantastic, incredible, stupendous!

bwahhahahahahahaahahahahahaahaha...

well at least it was the back of the tooth so we can still smile and not look like we live in Kentucky!

(Sorry Turn, could not help myself!)

Yeah...like we can afford another bill...OH well...a little pain never hurt anyone----did it?

OOOOO look what DROPPED into my mailbox this morning!

SO, did you see this weekend, our man Rick Ankiel continued on his quest to become a movie subject? YUP...on Saturday he went 3-4 with TWO home runs! On Sunday1-4 with a double. Truly have to DROP a tear for this story.

Tiger Woods took his first major of the year coming back from 4 strokes back on Friday to win the PGA Championship, though Ernie Els and Woody Austin did make it interesting... Tiger's lead DROPPED to one shot as they both took a run at him...his final margin of victory...2 strokes...

Everyone is bitching and moaning about the weather, but hey folks, this is the South and it is August...sheesh....you can't expect any less...supposed to be at least 100 each day this week...and not a DROP of rain in the forecast.

Our prayers go out to all the families of the miners in Oregon UTAH (see what happens when your tooth hurts! Thanks Songbird)...a real difficult job to have...6 miners have been trapped since Monday and though they have not heard any sounds using microphones DROPPED through small holes drilled in the earth, the rescue team still seems optimistic.

Tonight, make sure you say a prayer for these six men and their families.

Yesterday we lost Merv Griffin...incredible career this man had....From his beginning as a $100-a-week San Francisco radio singer, Griffin moved on as vocalist for Freddy Martin's band, sometime film actor in films and TV game and talk show host, and made Forbes' list of richest Americans several times.

His money really rolled in when he 'invented' a silly game where you got the answer and had to supply the question. "Jeopardy" became a HUGE hit in the 60's and then he took the game "Hangman" and turned it into the wildly successful "Wheel OF Fortune"... In 1986 he sold the rights to both shows to Columbia Pictures Television for $250-million dollars, but was smart enough to keep a portion of the profits for himself.

In 1989 Barron Hilton offered to sell Griffin the Beverly Hilton. Griffin DROPPED $100.2 million for the old hotel and completely refurbished it for $25 million. Then he made a move for control of Resorts International, which operated hotels and casinos from Atlantic City to the Caribbean.

He got into a bidding war with Donald Trump who held 80% of the voting stock. Griffin eventually acquired Resorts for $240 million.

Griffin was 82 and passed of prostrate prostate cancer on Sunday. (another case where I need an editor! Thanks Julie)

Sorry, could just not say he DROPPED dead...though I am sure Matt-Man would have...

How about we DROP the stylus onto a little Led Zep for a Monday?

"THANK YOU"
Robert Plant & Jimmy Page
"Led Zeppelin II"
1969

If the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you.
When mountains crumble to the sea, there will still be you and me.

Kind woman, I give you my all, Kind woman, nothing more.

Little DROPS of rain whisper of the pain, tears of loves lost in the days gone by.
My love is strong, with you there is no wrong,
together we shall go until we die. My, my, my.
An inspiration is what you are to me, inspiration, look... see.

And so today, my world it smiles, your hand in mine, we walk the miles,
Thanks to you it will be done, for you to me are the only one.
Happiness, no more be sad, happiness....I'm glad.

If the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you.

When mountains crumble to the sea, there will still be you and me.
