Wild Wednesday...

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Wednesday, April 21, 2010 14 Of Your Sparks

I received a nice email from my guest who missed the show on Monday. Joshua Stedman had some email problems and was traveling back from Colorado and just missed the date on his calendar.

I was disappointed the other night and stumbled a bit through the first 15 minutes until Chris Huff got my emergency email and called in earlier than scheduled.

I even received a call from Phfrankie "I will be there when a guest does not show" Bondo to help out. And just like last time, as soon as Phfrankie called Chris called in. I thanked him in private, but want to do so here in public...you rock Phfrankie!

Our most excellent friend TRAVIS from "Trav's Thoughts" is back to talking Dancing after taking a week off.

I have not been following the show as closely as I have in the past, but I know exactly what is going on from Travis' posts.

This Kate Gosselin diva is hopefully gone this morning. She being the mother of the 8 children who, along with her estranged husband (back when they were together) decided to cash in on having 8 kids and fed their kids to the wolves (not Travis, the publicity wolves), and then both cheated on each other and turned their lives into fodder for the world.

She acts like this diva b*ch on the program and when the judges criticize her for basically walking around the dance floor she gives them stares that would stop a clock...stop complaining about being tired because your kids came to visit their mother and leave the show...

OK, sorry for that rant...

I have been dealing with a new situation in my life that was discovered after I fired my last doctor. Seems there was an issue that the a**hat I was seeing never discussed with me.

After seeing a new doctor, the issue is being addressed. Something I will have to deal with the rest of my life it appears, but now I know about it and can deal with it.

I am considering sending a letter to the AMA offices here in Memphis to let them know that a doctor who was named on of the 10 best in Memphis two years ago is actually a clown who overbooks his day, does not spend enough time speaking with his patients and obviously, as in my case, does not seem to care about their overall health.

Opps...sorry, I guess I just went from one rant to another...I guess I should just say thank you to my current physician for being a good doctor and end this post for today...

Enjoy your days and hug your loved ones...

Musical Monday...

MONDAY, APRIL 19, 2010
10pm Eastern; 9pm Central; 8pm Mountain; 7pm Pacific

This week:
JOSHUA STEDMAN
and
CHRIS HUFF
sit on
THE COUCH

JS Album JStedman

Joshua Stedman's NYC, SF and Miami based soulful, story-telling music sculptures the impact of the relationships personal to him, but familiar to all of us. He shares life's observations and experiences that tend to illicit that, “Yep, I've been there, too...” reaction in each of us. He weaves a clever web of funk/soul/rock roots, winding chord arrangements, elusive guitar riffs and deep organic bass lines around subtle rhythmic shifts.

Where does the music come from? Joshua and I will explore this and what he is working on.

Death&Taxes CHuff NCWay

Then Chris Huff joins us. Chris' last scheduled appearance was interrupted by his trip to the hospital. Well, he is recovering and we will let him lay down if necessary.

A throwback to the days when artists worked in multiple genres on the same album, his songs are impossible to pigeonhole while emerging from a spirit that is of a desire to both experiment and provide the pleasures of the best pop, rock and reggae. As a singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, his sensibilities emerge to create what can only be called “Huffmusic".

Based in Bucks County, PA (45 minutes north of Philly) but a native of New York City, he’s played and sung classical, jazz, folk, and opera; he’s studied bluegrass in Kentucky; he’s been in prog rock bands, large soul groups, and alternapop combos; he’s scored film and performed children’s songs. It all adds up to experience that few other musicians can match, and it is an eclecticism that is at the heart of his music.

What is Chris up to? Will his hospital stay influence his songwriting?

I will take your calls and questions for both guests at 1.347.633.9400.

The live interactive chat room opens 20 minutes before show time. Follow this link HERE and click on the Chat Now icon.

Remember, unless you take the two minutes to register, you will not be able to participate in the chat room or send me questions to ask Joshua or Chris, but you will still hear the show.

So tune in on Monday evening or, you can always listen anytime after the show ends from the player HERE or the one here on the upper left and you can download to your iTunes and even subscribe to the show for automatic weekly downloads, from my iTunes page HERE.

He is doing the 6-year college merry-go-round
First a teacher, then a psychologist and finally law enforcement
But he has gotten his act together acing all his classes this semester.

I said yesterday I was going to concentrate more on MUSIC here on The Couch...and that means joining in on my friend TRAVIS' meme called FIVE ON FRIDAY.

Now here are the guidelines (Travis does not do rules) for Five On Friday:

1. Grab the banner, make your post title Five on Friday, and be sure to link back here.
2. Go to Playlist.com to make your play list of five songs. Choose a particular theme to share with us. You can simply post the play list, or you can add a little summary about what you are sharing.
3. I don't know how to make a specific linky, so be sure to leave me a comment to let me know that you participated.
4. No tags, but feel free to invite your friends to play along if they need a post topic on a Friday.

Now, I do not use playlist.com, but I am putting 5 songs here.

These five are all artists I am have booked or am looking to book on my BlogTalk Radio Show "Music On The Couch" over the next few months.

This is a really cool way to share your music with your readers and I highly encourage you to join in on Friday's, after all...Friday means the doorway to the weekend and going back to my college days when I ran the Fraternity's sound system (shocked you are, I know), that meant Friday afternoon speakers on the balcony giving the quad MUSIC!

Joshua Stedman is booked on the show on April 19th.
This is "A Simple Love"

Nick Daugherty is still not confirmed, but we are working it out.
This is "A Thousand Times"

Kat Danser is scheduled to appear in June.
This is her song "Yesterday's Blues"

Mississippi Heat's leader Pierre Lacocque will appear on April 26.
This is their song "Hattiesburg Blues"

And finally today,
the band is Zydecosis from New Orleans. I have not booked them yet.
They take rock and roll and play it in Zydeco - very cool.
This is their take on"Fat Bottomed Girls"

HAVE A GRAND WEEKEND ALL!
