OK, I call SUMMER Friday!

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Friday, June 05, 2009 17 Of Your Sparks

Check out "Looking At The Sky Friday" participants by clicking on the banner above and heading over to Crazy Working Mom's site.

This one is also from my trip south to assist Nancy when she forgot something on her business trip about a month or so ago.

Cruising down I78 South...I turn my head to see the sky off to my left.

Grab the cell phone and clickity click and this is what I got.

I love the swirls of the clouds along the horizon...the sweeping segment of cloud coming into the photo right to left...and above all the nastiness, the blue sky calls out that better days are ahead.

All I did was crop out some of the bottom of the original to focus in on the clouds.

Looks like next week I get to place an order.... WOOOO!

Oh this gets much bigger by clickity clicking.

Thanks to everyone who went over and visited HOPE RADIO , and hopefully you were able to assist in their efforts.

ALso, I know a bunch went over and signed the petition to ensure the passage of the BREAST CANCER PATIENT PROTECTION ACT. If you haven't, take a few minutes and do so now...

IT'S THE WEEKEND!

Fire up the grill...crack open some cold brewskis...char some animal flesh and have a grand time!

Because, even though the calendar might not be saying it yet, it is officially right around the corner....yes kiddies...SUMMERTIME!!!!!!!!

SO..for the weekend...and for the summer...Man, I could have made this a 1-2 block of just songs with SUMMER in the title. What is your favorite SUMMER song and which is what song reminds you of SUMMER most?

Summertime - Janis Joplin & the Kozmic Blues Band
(Live - Amsterdam, The Netherlands - 04/01/69)
Summer Wind - Frank Sinatra
Boys Of Summer - Don Henley
Summer of '69 - Bryan Adams

ENJOY.......

Friday Food Frank (and Dean)...

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Friday, March 20, 2009 11 Of Your Sparks

Well, here it is 10:33pm and normally I would be lying on the bed, watching basketball, or if the games got boring, something on TiVo. My post would be done...I would be 'chillin''

HECK-A-DOODLE NO!!!!!! But you know what? I really can't be all upset, because I have been in front of the computer since I got home around 5:15pm (ain't it great to live like 5 minutes from work? Well that will change real soon and I can't wait!!! LOL)

Anyway, so, in front of the computer since I got home...right...working on the header for the new food blog.

I had it done with one template and the when I went and previewed, it did not rock me. And it was doing something funny with the code. Something I found a few times to be honest.

I finally found a clean template (because, you know, a food blog....kitchens....you have to be clean and all), and then I had to change the primary color of the header. which should have been a snap working with GIMP the freeware program (going to be getting my CS3 real soon. CS 4 just came out and CS3 is now a bargain!), so, sorry....drifting around here today...so it should have been easy, but - HECK-A-DOODLE NO - again, this time for real - when I saved I saved as a .png instead of as a native file so all the layers compressed!

SO I had to rebuild it...so at 9:15 my stomach yelled 'HEY BOZO REMEMBER ME? YOU KNOW....THE BODY PART THAT HAS BEEN GROWLING FRO THE LAST HOUR!!!', so luckily, the other night I whipped up some sausage and peppers and onions so I made a sandwich and came right back to the computer.

Finally finished it...I think - I always tinker - but if all is well, you will be introduced on Monday with it's first real post. I even got a real url for it - I am such a renaissance man, ain't I!

Thanks to TURNBABY of "And As The World Turns"for her constant nagging stalker-type emails, suggestions that I do this and also for what has become the tag line for the site.

IF YOU ARE REAL CLEVER YOU CAN EVEN FIND IT AS THERE IS A CLUE...

Other than that, I got nothing....I am exhausted and am actually surprised this was not a one line post and some music...Oh yeah...we will be doing music there also...and going to try and keep it food themed!

FOOD! MUSIC! TWO OF THE GREATS!

Have a great weekend....ENJOY...

For Phfrankie...

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Tuesday, January 27, 2009 15 Of Your Sparks

Thanks to all who voted yesterday...some weeks we have bands the majority loves, some weeks, not so much...but in the end it is the distribution of new music information we are trying to accomplish.

Yesterday I mentioned I would be telling the story of a man who was beloved here in Memphis. Unfortunately real life has gotten in the way and I did not have time to do the post justice, so that will wait until tomorrow.

I decided to respond to yesterday's comment by our good friend PHFRANKIE BONDO from "Steamboat Slough"...

Phfrankie...you asked for it bud...from this collection...

Tuneage Tutelage - New Music Monday....

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Monday, January 26, 2009 28 Of Your Sparks

Welcome to another week. Hope y'all had a most wonderful weekend.

The weather got a little warmer here in Memphis and then dropped back into the low 30's...but all in all a nice weekend was had.

Beginning next week, I am traveling most of February. I will be posting as much as possible and hope to make visits to your blogs as much as possible.

You know something strange did happen this weekend. As y'all know, I am digitizing my vinyl and cassettes and for some reason I reached into one of the boxes on Saturday morning to look at some of the "box sets" I have collected over the years and found one I had totally forgotten I owned.

It is a Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band "box set" containing 5 albums. It consists of 40 tracks recorded at various concerts between 1975 and 1985. It was released as a box set with either five vinyl records, three cassettes, or three CDs. There was also a record club-only release which came on three 8-track cartridges, which is extremely hard to find. How I forgot I owned this gem is beyond me, but I was psyched to find it. I have begun working on digitizing it and will share when I have the chance.

Have not received Bruce's new album, Working On A Dream, but as soon as I do, I will do my review.

I spent most of Sunday working on another box set; Frank Sinatra - The Voice; the Columbia Years 1943 - 1953, a 6 record set. Each album features different genres of his music; Saloon Songs, Standards, Screen, Love Songs, Swings and Stage.

Tomorrow, we will stick with music and present you with a biography of a man who was a huge part of the Memphis radio community for 26 years and thorough the use of tapes still lives. This is one man you will want to learn about.

For today, we are going to review two new albums...sit on down and let's have a listen...

For last week, we will be sending Astronauts Of Antiquity to
KIMMIE of "Pretty Amazing Grace", and the Bob Pressner CD to JOHN H of "Altjiranga Mitjina". Y'all both have to email me your snail mail addresses...

Now for this week...

Pat Monahan is the lead singer and songwriter for the Grammy award winning band Train. He is a successful solo artist, and has collaborated with multiple artists. Pat plays percussion, saxophone, mandolin, flute, electric violin, clarinet, trombone, and bongos.

His latest solo endeavor is Last Of Seven Acoustic, and was released as a digital download only, but I received a CD of the project.

Honestly, I was unfamiliar with his band Train, so I did not know what to expect when I put the CD in...

Mr. Monahan has a voice reminiscent of the rock stars of today. He seems to have a true love for his own voice. His vocals are pushed way to the front.

The collection of musicians on this CD number 29 with notable guest appearances by Brandi Carlile, who joins Monahan on the ballad, "Pirate on the Run," while Graham Nash sings backup on "Cowboys and Indians," and Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora plays on "Someday."

Did I enjoy listening to this CD....honestly, at times it was very pleasing, then again at other times I tended to be bored by his sound.

Two songs...first the duet with Brandi Carlile and then the song "Her Eyes", one of my more favored cuts...

The CD is available - let me know in comments...

Next up is the debut album from a band called Glasvegas a Scottish rock band whose current lineup came together in 2006 in Glasgow. The band is James Allan on vocals, Rab Allen on guitar, Paul Donoghue on bass and Caroline McKay on drums.

The band came in fourth in the BBC's Sound of 2008 poll to find the brightest musical talent.

The overall sound is a bit pop, a bit rock, even some rockabilly behind a wall of guitar noise. Lyrically the band has some interesting material. The guitars are smashed together to give a furious sound to their music. On the first cut "Flowers & Football Tops", I had to go and restart it as it sounded like the recording was distorted in the pressing.

Singer James Allan says the group started by taking their lead from classic doo-wop groups.

"It's a minimalist approach to the rhythm, it's really simple, but that simplicity leaves a lot of room for other things," he says.

"And the other things... I really like a lot of orchestral music and classical music. I think that can be a good furious backdrop to something.

"A lot of the sound that I get with the guitars is to make it sound like an orchestra. But we've only got the bass, my guitar and his guitar."

Two from their debut album; "Daddy's Gone", a semi-autobiographical 'ballad' that opens with the lyrics "How you are my hero/ How you're never here though/ Remember times when you put me on your shoulders/ How I wish that it was forever you would hold us."

The second song is "Lonesome Swan", which carries the pounding beat, wall of guitars theme throughout.

Let us know if you want the CD...

Great Discussion & Nancy Responds To Y'all...

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Thursday, January 08, 2009 27 Of Your Sparks

Yesterday a long discussion in my comments occurred over the story of the man who sued and won for being asked to cover a shirt other passengers found 'threatening'.

Was the message on the shirt threatening? No, if you knew where the slogan came from. Possibly, if you did not know the origins (I did not know when I began research on the story - I found out doing the research).

Was the whole incident justified? Not in my opinion. As I stated yesterday, Mr. Jarrar could have probably used more common sense while preparing and dressing for his trip. JetBlue and the TSA should have been more professional in their handling of the situation.

Did it warrant a lawsuit? Not in my opinion.

The comments made by you, my most wonderful guests, were thought provoking and both sides of the case were defended.

This is one of the wonderful things about the blogging community. For the most part, bloggers allow anyone who comments to state their opinion.

There was an incredible discussion over the situation in Israel and the Gaza Strip over at DIANNE'S "Forks Of The Moment" blog the other day and without getting nasty everyone had their say.

Thanks to all of you who contributed here yesterday!

I mentioned the other day, that Nancy was traveling on Monday and Tuesday on business and she only had brief moments to check comments from Monday's Vlog and big announcement.

She really felt it was necessary to respond to all the comments we received and last night she sat down and did so. I asked her to send them to me, since most of you would not have seen her responses if they just went into the comments section from Monday's post.

I formatted it to show your comment and her reply.

So, today...I turn The Couch over to my fiance Nancy and allow her to speak to each of you who left comments for us...

Nancy...take it awayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy...

If I don't see her each day, I miss her
Gee, what a thrill each time I kiss her
Believe me, I've got a case
On Nancy, with the laughin' face

She takes the winter and she makes it summer
And summer could take a few lessons from her
Picture a tomboy in lace
That's Nancy with the laughin' face

Did you ever hear mission bells ringing?
Well, she'll give you the very same glow
When she speaks you would think it was singing
Just hear her say "hello"

I swear to goodness, you can't resist her
Sorry for you, she has no sister
No angel could replace
Nancy, with the laughin' face

Thanks for all of your comments on the new layout. I have closed the site and plan on doing some further revises and try a few other things before I bring it back ... there were somegood comments and suggestions.

Hope all y'all had marvelous weekends...I went and watched some golf on Friday at the St. Judes Open and then Saturday and Sunday darlin' Nancy and I were at Peter's baseball games. Hot weekend here with temps in the mid 90's and blazing sun. Beginning to feel healthy again as my tan is really taking hold. The Mississippi Vipers won their groups Championship with solid hitting, excellent pitching and total determination, coming back to win three games where they found themselves behind.

Got this from Dad Vince on Friday and absolutely loved it...so decided to share it with all y'all... I am sure Mary The Teach and LeeLee will chime in to agree 1,000,000%

I am a New Yorker!

I am a New Yorker
I do not live in the five boroughs or on the Island or Upstate
I may live hundreds or thousands of miles away
Or I may live just over the GW Bridge
Because I am a New Yorker

I am a New Yorker
Whatever took me out of New York:
Business, family or hating the cold
did not take New York out of me.
My accent may have faded and my pace may have slowed
But I am still a New Yorker

I am a New Yorker
I was raised on Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and Rockefeller Plaza,
The Yankees or the Met's (Giants or Dodgers)
Jones Beach, Rye Beach, Orchard Beach
or one of the beaches on the sound
I know that 'THE END' means Montauk.
Because I am a New Yorker

I am a New Yorker
When I go on vacation, I never look up
Skyscrapers are something I take for granted
The Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty are part of me
Taxis and noise and subways and 'get outa heah' don't rattle me
Because I am a New Yorker

I am a New Yorker
I was raised on cultural diversity before it was politically correct
I eat Greek food and Italian food,
Jewish and Middle Eastern food and Chinese food
Because they are all American food to me.
I don't get mad when people speak other languages in my presence
Because my relatives got to this country via Ellis Island and chose to stay
They were New Yorkers

People who have never been to New York have misunderstood me
My friends and family work in the industries, professions and businesses that benefit all Americans
My firefighters died trying to save New Yorkers and non-New Yorkers
They died trying to save Americans and non-Americans
Because they were New Yorkers.

I am a New Yorker
I feel the pain of my fellow New Yorkers
I mourn the loss of my beautiful city
I feel and dread that New York will never be the same
But then I remember:
I am a New Yorker

And New Yorkers have:
Tenacity, strength and courage way above the norm
Compassion and caring for our fellow citizens
Love and pride in our city, in our state, in our country
Intelligence, experience and education par excellence
Ability, dedication and energy above and beyond
Faith--no matter what religion we practice
Terrorists hit America in its heart
But America's heart still beats strong
Demolish the steel in our buildings,
but it doesn't touch the steel in our souls
Hit us in the pocketbook;
but we'll parlay what we have left into a fortune
End innocent lives leaving widows and orphans, but we'll take care of them
Because they are New Yorkers

Wherever we live, whatever we do, whoever we are
There are New Yorkers in every state and every city of this nation
We will not abandon our city
We will not abandon our brothers and sisters
We will not abandon the beauty,
creativity and diversity that New York represents
Because we are New Yorkers
And we are proud to be New Yorkers

Only those that grew up or lived in NYC can understand the meaning of this:

THERE IS NO NORTH AND SOUTH. IT'S 'UPTOWN' OR 'DOWNTOWN.'
IF YOU'RE REALLY FROM NEW YORK,
YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO CONCEPT OF WHERE NORTH AND SOUTH ARE...
AND EAST OR WEST IS 'CROSS-TOWN.'

YOU KNOW HOW TO MAKE AN EGG CREAM.

YOU RIDE IN A SUBWAY CAR WITH NO AIR CONDITIONING
JUST BECAUSE THERE ARE SEATS AVAILABLE.

YOU TAKE THE TRAIN HOME AND YOU KNOW
EXACTLY WHERE ON THE PLATFORM THE DOORS WILL OPEN
THAT WILL LEAVE YOU RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE EXIT STAIRWAY.

YOU KNOW WHAT A 'REGULAR' COFFEE IS.

YOU CROSS THE STREET ANY WHERE BUT ON THE CORNERS
AND YOU YELL AT CARS FOR NOT RESPECTING YOUR RIGHT TO DO IT.

YOU MOVE 3,000 MILES AWAY, SPEND 10 YEARS LEARNING THE LOCAL LANGUAGE AND PEOPLE STILL KNOW YOU'RE FROM BROOKLYN, LONG ISLAND OR THE BRONX THE MINUTE YOU OPEN YOUR MOUTH.

YOU RETURN AFTER 10 YEARS AND THE FIRST FOODS
YOU WANT ARE A 'REAL' PIZZA AND A 'REAL' BAGEL.

A 500 SQUARE FOOT APARTMENT IS LARGE.

YOU KNOW THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN ALL THE DIFFERENT RAY'S PIZZAS.

YOU ARE NOT UNDER THE MISTAKEN IMPRESSION THAT ANY HUMAN BEING WOULD BE ABLE TO ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND A P.A. ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE SUBWAY.

YOU WOULDN'T BOTHER ORDERING PIZZA IN ANY OTHER CITY.

YOU GET READY TO ORDER DINNER EVERY NIGHT AND MUST CHOOSE FROM THE MAJOR FOOD GROUPS WHICH ARE: CHINESE, ITALIAN, MEXICAN OR INDIAN.

YOU'RE NOT THE LEAST BIT INTERESTED IN GOING TO
TIMES SQUARE ON NEW YEAR'S EVE.

YOUR INTERNAL CLOCK IS PERMANENTLY SET TO KNOW WHEN
ALTERNATE SIDE OF THE STREET PARKING REGULATIONS IS IN EFFECT.

YOU KNOW WHAT A BODEGA IS.

SOMEONE BUMPS INTO YOU AND YOU CHECK FOR YOUR WALLET.

YOU DON'T EVEN NOTICE THE LADY WALKING DOWN THE STREET HAVING A PERFECTLY NORMAL CONVERSATION WITH HERSELF.

YOU PAY 'ONLY' $230 A MONTH TO PARK YOUR CAR.

YOU CRINGE AT HEARING PEOPLE PRONOUNCE
HOUSTON ST. LIKE THE CITY IN TEXAS.

THE PRESIDENTIAL VISIT IS A MAJOR TRAFFIC JAM, NOT AN HONOR.

YOU CAN NAP ON THE SUBWAY AND NEVER MISS YOUR STOP.

THE DELI GUY GIVES YOU A STRAW WITH ANY
BEVERAGE YOU BUY, EVEN IF IT'S A BEER.

IT'S NOT MANHATTAN...IT'S THE 'CITY.'

THAT'S NEW YORK, BABY! YA GOTTA LOVE IT.

REMEMBER THE WTC
Author - Vincent Pasquale, Maspeth, NY
Thank you Vincent for allowing us to share this with
our fellow New Yorkers all around the world.

Yes, I know there are great cities all over the world and that some of you, my loyal readers, live in some of them...but never will there be a city like New York...

Our favorite Christmas Carol...
"WHITE CHRISTMAS"

Written by Irving Berlin. The morning after he wrote the song — Berlin usually stayed up all night writing — the songwriter went to his office and told his musical secretary, "Grab your pen and take down this song. I just wrote the best song I've ever written — hell, I just wrote the best song that anybody's ever written!"

The song was written in early 1940 while Berlin sat poolside at the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa in Phoenix, Arizona.

Introduced by Bing Crosby in the 1942 musical "Holiday Inn". In the film, he actually sings it in a duet with Marjorie Reynolds. The song went on to receive the Academy Award for Best Original Song. Though, while Marjorie Reynolds was the actress playing Linda Mason, her voice was dubbed by Martha Mears for the movie, and in the script as originally conceived, Reynolds, not Crosby, was to sing the song.

The first public performance of the song was also by Crosby, on his top-rated NBC radio show The Kraft Music Hall on Christmas Day, 1941.

Once again, you get two choices...

This one amazed us...yesterday we decided to sign up with blogrush. It is a service where you add a widget and other blog posts are displayed on your site ... our good friend Matt-Man has it on his site...

So, we scoot over to their site and sign up. We are told to insert the widget and they will review THE COUCH and get back to us within 24-48 hours...la la la la la ...less than an hour later we receive an email back with the header "We're Very Sorry"...

WHAT? Huh? WHAT?

The email reads in part:

"This message is to inform you that
we have carefully reviewed your blog:

Big Leather Couch
http://bondsbigleathercouch.blogspot.com

And your blog did not meet the strict BlogRush quality criteria.

Reason Your Blog Wasn't Approved:
Not Enough Unique Content

Therefore, your blog has not been approved for use in our network.

Please do not take this decision personally.
We have decided to
only approve the highest quality blogs for our network.

You should remove the BlogRush code from your blog's pages.

Our Quality Guidelines and criteria are listed within our
Terms Of Service agreement:"

WTF??? OK, OK, maybe we missed something...so we head over to look at those TOS...
here is what we found...

BlogRush Quality Guidelines & Criteria
- The blog contains unique, quality content that provides opinions, insights, and/or recommended resources that provide value to readers of the blog. Articles, videos, public domain works, press releases, and content written by others are okay to be used on the blog, but the ratio of unique content should far outweigh content from other sources.
16 original works of fiction in the last year...
9 Tuneage Tutelage posts in the last 10 months...
Show us where our posts are not original??? SHOW US..
OK, if you look at the last 5 posts only, 2 are Tutelage that maybe do not fit since there are few words, but Friday's post was about the Mitchell Report...ALL original words...
Did they spend 5 minutes and look at three, maybe four posts????

'splain it to me lucy...de ratio it be heavy to the original side me thinks...

- The blog should be updated on a regular basis (at least several times a month) and should not just go a few months between posts.
FIVE days a week...FIVE days a week...ok, so we have missed, what??? 10 days this whole year???

- The blog should already contain at least 10-12 quality posts. New blogs with very little content will not be accepted.
ummm...477 posts...just a tad more than 10-12

- The blog's primary content must be in English. BlogRush is currently not available for non-English blogs.
OK, so maybe sometimes we speak "Couch-eze" but it am mainly in English...ain't it?

- The blog should not contain an excessive amount of advertising and links and very little actual content. The focus of the blog should be quality content.
NO advertising...the links are to give our guests additional information...wut am quality????

- The primary content of the blog should not be "scraped" content from other sources and/or script-generated pages for the sole purpose of search engine rank manipulation. The focus of the blog should be quality content.
Pullllllllleasssssse...have you seen our Technorati ranking lately? If you have, tell us about it because it has shrunken smaller than a steroid users gonads...

- The blog's content (or advertising) should not contain any of the following types of content: hate, anti-racial, terrorism, drug-related, hacking, phishing, fraud, pornographic, nudity, warez, gambling, copyright infringement, obscene or disgusting material of any kind, or anything considered illegal.
Well some might think we are disgusting...but we don't do any of those other things...

- BlogRush reserves the right to determine if any blog is suitable for its network or not.
Guess this is the out-clause...we don't want you in our club
, so go away little boy ya bothering me...

Now, we know some of you are shaking your heads saying "who the hell gives a sh..." oops, they might be watching...

and some will say, "don't you write your blog for you????"

Just kind of ticks us off is all..and HELL YEAH, we write this for ourself, so guess what???? We get to write what we want and this is what we wanted to write about...

We have not put one link to this site, because they do not deserve it..you can find it easy enough and maybe you will want to join in on the fun...

we actually found some content on Matt-Man's site and visited the blog that caught my eye...we think it is a good idea...YES THINK...but we would love to hear how THE COUCH is not original...

Thursday...just Thursday

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Thursday, October 11, 2007 24 Of Your Sparks

Well...what a weird day and it seems that we have found how to get comments!

All we have to do s open the weirdness that is my brain and all y'all want to try and get into the darkness even more...

bwahahahahahahahahahahahaha

NO, it is not uncomfortable to go commando in jeans...it is liberating...sitting in an airport or in a meeting knowing we are free and no one knows...

Well, maybe they don't...we do not think anyone from work reads this..but if you are and you do..well..THERE YA GO...

SO, more personal info...a number of years ago while warming up on of my pitchers he threw a ball in the dirt and hit me directly on the big toe.

Toe broke...nail went KAPLOOEY...has always been a bit funky since...and then we got that fungus crap...tried everything...well my doctor suggested petroleum jelly and said it would take a year for the nail to grow out and it to be back to normal...well..man is he right...it already looks better...

OK, so it isn't the same as me swinging in my jeans .... LOL

The NY Yankees called a pitcher up to the majors this year. His name is Joba Chamberlain. He is a member of the Winnebago Indian tribe from Nebraska. He began the year in Single A and leaped to AA then AAA and then the majors and they treated him with kid-gloves, with special rules on how much he could pitch (The Joba Rules).

There was an article in the October 8th Sports Illustrated on this incredible young man. Yes, he is a baseball player, but this is a story about family and trials and overcoming and faith and love...

PLEASE spend 10-15 minutes reading it and be warned, grab the tissues first...and do not read it on an airplane like we did....

It is called "What Love's Got to Do with It" and it is wonderful!

Tried to help Mimi tonight who is struggling with internet problems...ARGGGGG...think we figured out what is wrong but not how to fix it...

Get Your PEACE GLOBE yet? Head on over to THE HOME OF THE PEACE GLOBE and grab one today...just scroll down for your options....

Plans are set...going to Baltimore to be with Matt the weekend of November 2nd... SO looking forward to it!

Hoping to get to the Zoo this weekend finally, but now that we mentioned it, the plans will probably fall through as they did last time.....

When Dad pointed us to the Bruce videos, he did make mention that Frank was still his fav... so today....The Chairman Of The Board...

A cool, nostalgic tale of a fleeting romance

Love means to commit oneself without guarantee,
to give oneself completely in the hope that our love will produce
love in the loved person. Love is an act of faith,
and whoever is of little faith is also of little love.

This Week's Answer

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Wednesday, February 14, 2007 4 Of Your Sparks

Excellent job Pia...Exactly correct...
BAND: Jerry Garcia - unofficial
SONG: My Funny Valentine
BAND MEMBERS: Jerry Garcia (guitar), Merle Saunders (organ), Bill Vitt (drums), John Kahn (bass)
ALBUM: Live At The Keystone Volume 2

This is a tremendous album as is Volume One ...
both albums contain superb performances drawn from the quartet's
July 10-11, 1973, run in the intimate confines of Keystone Korners in Berkeley.
For this song, the band does not do their interpretation, they pretty
much take the song apart and rebuild it to their taste.

We will come back to this at another time...

For today...other interpretations of this tremendous song...
as our friend from Canada pointed out,
this classic is by Lorenz Hart & Richard Rogers...

Enjoy with your angel, your honey-bunny, your love, your cuddles,
your darling, your DH or DW....sweet

ELLA:

FRANK: (hope this one works)

CARLY:

ROD: (another one giving me troubles)

BARBRA:

version and see how brilliant it really it...

a special person in the music business
