This one is coming slow tonight, we need some inspiration...

Soprano fans??? So, were you like gasping for air watching the show this week?

Well, we were...because we watched it on TiVO Monday evening and it was during our viewing that the dreaded Kidney Stone pain began...! bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaaa

[couchdivider.gif]

Last night on the Dr. Blogstein Radio Happy Hour, we were privileged to speak with Mr. Shant Kenderian. This man has lived an incredible life. Born in Iraq of Christian Armenian decent, he immigrated to the U.S. with his mother when he was 15 years old.

The summer before his senior year in high school he decided to visit his father in Iraq. ONE WEEK later, the Iran/Iraq War began and the borders were closed trapping Mr. Kenderian in Iraq. He continued his education until, with no options left, he was forced to join the Iraq military.

He survives that war and tries to get back to his home in the US, but the borders remain closed and Iraq invades Kuwait forcing Mr. Kenderian back into the navy. The trials he goes through, eventually becoming taken prisoner by US troops.

Imagine, being a Christian Armenian who grows up living in Moslem Baghdad, you immigrate and became a permanent resident of the United States, you go to visit your father and end up spending the next ten years trapped in a world out of control.

The Book is
"1001 NIGHTS IN IRAQ"
The Shocking Story Of An American Forced To
Fight For Saddam Against The Country He Loves

THE COUCH highly recommends it...

[couchdivider.gif]

Will give a shout-out to the Fire/EMS gents who showed up Monday evening. We did not see the name of the company, ummm my mind was on something else....the pain! But they were both pros...

And Germantown Methodist....nice hospital. Great friendly staff...

Welcome to the third
DONA NOBIS PACEM
PEACE GLOBE CELEBRATION

[couchdivider.gif]

The USA has not been this divided on a war since Vietnam.

Thankfully, this time our soldiers are not being blamed for
doing their jobs as they were some 40 years ago.

We need to stay strong, but we also need to find a way
to bring the young men and women fighting
this war back to their loved ones.

We need to work together to find solutions.

[couchdivider.gif]

How did this all begin?
What is a PEACE MARBLE?
Find that out HERE

[couchdivider.gif]

Simple lyrics...Powerful meaning

Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love.
There's nothing you can do that can't be done.
Nothing you can sing that can't be sung.
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game
It's easy.

There's nothing you can make that can't be made.
No one you can save that can't be saved.
Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be in time
It's easy.

All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.

Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love.
All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.

There's nothing you can know that isn't known.
Nothing you can see that isn't shown.
Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be.
It's easy.

All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
All you need is love (all together now)
All you need is love (everybody)
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Tuesday, June 05, 2007 24 Of Your Sparks

So, all y’all know mom Joan and dad Vince came in for the weekend…

We had a real nice visit with them. They arrived Friday afternoon and got the grand tour of Casa Bond in Memphis, It began at about 5:01 Pm and ended at 5:01:30 – hehehe …well it ain’t that big folks…

Went to dinner and decided to bring them over to Corkys. Mom had heard about it on food TV and as any Memphian will tell you, there are some better places, but for a first visit it was a good choice.

We got seated and met our waiter who was in a “Let’s have fun” mood. He and dad shot jokes back and forth especially when dad ordered the regular rack of ribs and waiter-boy said “OH, you want the ‘girly portion’ then.”

Dad shot back wondering if our waiter had ever “served a New Yorker and didn’t get a tip!”

[couchdivider.gif]

After dinner we went back to casa bond and watched the Yankees take game one from the Red Sox…good game

Saturday we were up and out to the “Italian Fest” here in Memphis. Have to tell you, sorely disappointed. First off there is a $10 charge just to get in and the food prices were not cheap at all. We checked out the “Gravy-Making” contestant tents, but it was still too early for any activity.

Did stop by the judging tent and put our name in to lead a team next year. Not too excited though as we were told that there is a waiting list and most people come back year after year….Guess they realized how good my gravy is and are afraid of me…LOL

[couchdivider.gif]

Then we went downtown and did the SUN STUDIO tour. Have done this already and have sent a few people there (including Memphians who have never been).

It is the best $10 you will spend in Memphis. From the original recordings by Howlin’ Wolf and B.B. King and Elvis…to just feeling the history in the place and finally getting your picture taken with the main studio microphone used by Elvis and Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis and so many other greats…(this is the location where the infamous "Millionn Dollar Quartet" photo was taken.

Jerry Lee, Carl Perkins (NOT Bruce Sprinsteen- hehe)
Elvis & Johnny Cash

Check out their SITE and make sure you click on the FREE TOUR link at the top and sit back and enjoy….

[couchdivider.gif]

After that we went up and did the Riverfront Loop on the trolley. It brings you all along Main Street and then down along the river and back…a nice way to see a good portion of downtown…OH and it is only $1.00 ($0.50 for seniors – what a deal!). Want to know more about the Trolley? Check it out HERE

When we got off the trolley, we knocked back a pitcher of beer at Huey’s across from the Peabody Hotel and then made our way across the street to see the evening “MARCH OF THE DUCKS”

You see there are 5 ducks that live in the Peabody and every morning they march from their home on the roof, down the elevator to the fountain in the hotel lobby. There they get to swim and hang until 5:00 PM when they get marched back to the elevator and up to their penthouse home…Check out the history of the Ducks, HERE…It is pretty interesting…

We then walked over to Beale Street and did some people watching. We decided to go back toward Casa Bond for dinner and headed back.

After dinner we sat and chatted for a while before bedtime called.

[couchdivider.gif]

Sunday was a lazy day overall. Mom and dad did a movie mid-day and then came back to a nice pasta dinner.

Watched the Yankee/Red Sox rubber game .. Good game.

They headed out this yesterday a bit before 7:00 AM to make their way down into Georgia. They should arrive back in Boynton Beach tomorrow.

It was great seeing them…and no blood was shed! LOL

PEACE TRAIN
Cat Stevens
Composer: Cat Stevens

Now I've been happy lately,
thinking about the good things to come

And I believe it could be,

something good has begun

Oh I've been smiling lately,

dreaming about the world as one

And I believe it could be,

some day it's going to come

Cause out on the edge of darkness,

there rides a peace train

Oh peace train take this country,

come take me home again

Now I've been smiling lately,
thinking about the good things to come
And I believe it could be,

something good has begun

Oh peace train sounding louder

Glide on the peace train

Come on now peace train

Yes, peace train holy roller

Everyone jump upon the peace train

Come on now peace train

Get your bags together,

go bring your good friends too

Cause it's getting nearer,

it soon will be with you

Now come and join the living,

it's not so far from you

And it's getting nearer,

soon it will all be true

Now I've been crying lately,

thinking about the world as it is

Why must we go on hating,

why can't we live in bliss

Cause out on the edge of darkness,

there rides a peace train

Oh peace train take this country,

come take me home again

[couchdivider.gif]

Well, after finishing this, we had a bit of a scare. went into a fit of fierce sharp pain in our left back and abdomen. After trying to "rub some dirt on it and walk it off", we ended up going for an ambulance ride to the hospital to be diagnosed with our first Kidney Stone.

Got home about 10 minutes ago...still groggy from the meds they gave me to kill the pain...

Well, you know what? It is not fun when you don't have anyone real close. Reached out to my bosses and they were great as was brother Rich, all the way from San Antonio.

Off to bed...

RADIO HAPPY HOUR
Tuesday evening, June 5, 2007 at 9:00 PM EDT
to fill in as Jane will be having the week off...

What will be going on that evening?

James Bassil, editor of AskMen.com will be coming to Happy Hour to discuss his new book "From the Bar to the Bedroom: The 11 Rules for Picking Up and Pleasuring Women" in a can't miss interview for men of all species.

A note from Doc B:
"I'd kindly ask all women to skip this segment as to not learn our new secret tips. Please?"

We'll also be joined by Shant Kenderian, a fascinating man who's life story is almost too unbelievable to be true.

Kenderian, an Iraqi born American and author of the newly released "1001 Nights in Iraq: The Shocking Story of an American Forced to Fight for Saddam Against the Country He Loves", routinely finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. During the first Gulf War, he got caught inside Iraq's closed borders and was forced by Saddam Hussein to fight in the Iraqi army AGAINST his own country! We'll find out what life was like in the Iraq Army and how he found love in a most unusual place.

All that plus your calls at 646-652-4804,
and update into what Jared our intern has accomplished

People Got To Be Free
by Felix Cavaliere and Eddie Brigati

All the world over, so easy to see
People everywhere just wanna be free
Listen, please listen, that's the way it should be
Peace in the valley, people got to be free

You should see what a lovely, lovely world this'd be
Everyone learns to live together
Seems to me such an easy, easy thing should be
Why can't you and me learn to love one another

All the world over, so easy to see
People everywhere just wanna be free (wanna be free)
I can't understand it, so simple to me (it is)
People everywhere just got to be free
If there's a man who is down and needs a helping hand
All it takes is you to understand and to pull him through
Seems to me we got to solve it individually
And I'll do unto you what you do to me

There'll be shoutin' from the mountains on out to sea (out to sea)
No two ways about it, people have to be free (they got to be free)
Ask me my opinion, my opinion will be (ah-ha)
It's a natural situation for a man to be free

Oh, what a feelin's just come over me
It's enough to move a mountain, make a blind man see
Everybody's dancin' Come on let's go see
Peace in the valley, now they want to be free

See that train over there
Now that's the train of freedom
It's about to arrive any minute, now
You know, it's been long, long overdue
Look out 'cause it's comin' right on through [fade]
